Sun Jul 17 2011 | 09:40 | Eddy Curry needs to shed 40 pounds, say Heat |
To consider adding Eddy Curry to their roster, the Heat reportedly want him to lose at least 40 pounds during the lockout. |
Kwame Brown and Samuel Dalembert may also be on Miami's radar, though it's unclear whether they'd be able to make a competitive offer for Dalembert. Asking Curry to shed 40 pounds and stay in shape seems foolhardy given his track record, but it's possible that he's found motivation in unemployment. |

Sun Jun 26 2011 | 14:23 | Eddy Curry plans to workout for Miami Heat |
Eddy Curry will attend Miami's free agent camp in the upcoming week. |
As we noted a couple of weeks ago, the team worked out Curry in April but decided to pass after he proved to still be out of shape. If he can keep the extra weight off, Curry could service as an option in the middle for the Heat, who are desperate for help at center. He hasn't been serviceable since 2006-07 when he averaged 19.5 ppg and 7.1 rebounds, and he shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues even if he makes a successful comeback. The odds are stacked against him. |

Tue Jun 14 2011 | 09:51 | Curry an option for the Heat? |
The Miami Herald considers free agent Eddy Curry an option for the Heat next season. |
The Heat worked out Curry in April but the big man was predictably out of shape. If he ever gets his act together -- and that's a big if -- the Heat would likely have interest. They are desperate for talent at the center spot. |

Eddy Curry participated in several workouts with the Heat in the hopes for a playoff contract but left Miami without an offer. |

Sun Apr 3 2011 | 10:43 | Pat Riley plays down Eddy Curry workout |
Heat president Pat Riley said through a spokesperson that he worked out Eddy Curry along with "a half-dozen other players," and that talk of a signing is "purely speculation." |
Curry is overweight and out of shape, and there are other cheap options for veteran frontcourt depth, so we'll be surprised if the Heat actually sign him. In the past Riley has demanded that his players meet conditioning and body-fat benchmarks, which makes this pairing even more unlikely. |

Sat Apr 2 2011 | 14:01 | Eddy Curry could be signed by MIA next week |
Eddy Curry recently worked out for Heat president Pat Riley, and could be signed by Miami after going through another workout and a physical next week. |
Curry reportedly weighs around 350 pounds and can't be in very good shape, but he would give Miami an affordable insurance policy for their frontcourt. Rookie big man Dexter Pittman would likely be waived to clear a roster spot for Curry. |

Beat writer Brian Windhorst suggests the Heat could show interest in free agent Eddy Curry. |
The Heat could certainly use some girth up front, but adding a distraction like Curry probably isn't the smartest play. No one knows where Curry is right now with his health/weight. |

The Minnesota Timberwolves have stated that they intend to either use Eddy Curry as a part of another trade or waive him. |
Curry was a throw in as a part of the Melo trade to convince the Knicks to let go of Anthony Randolph. Either way Curry won't be playing for the Wolves...not that he would hold any value if he did. |

Tue Feb 22 2011 | 00:19 | Eddy Curry traded to the Wolves on Monday |
The Eddy Curry Era ended in New York on Monday, as he was traded to the Wolves in the Carmelo Anthony trade. |
New York sent over $3 million in cash with him to cover his last few paychecks, and Knicks fans have to be going bonkers knowing that the man who signed him, Isiah Thomas, is still calling shots for New York. This will likely be the last we hear of Curry in the NBA. |

Although Curry appears healthy, coach Mike D'Antoni has no intention of using the big man in a game. Curry remains on the Knicks simply for his massive expiring contract. |

Curry may never play for the Knicks again, however, as the team will likely waive him if they can't trade him before the deadline. One unnamed executive "swears the Miami Heat ... would sign Curry the second he clears waivers." Regardless, the oft-injured big man should be avoided in fantasy leagues. |

Eddy Curry is being sued again, this time by a company which claims Curry never paid back $200,000 in loans back in 2008. |
Curry also owes them a $25,000 "consulting fee" and $136,000 in interest. He's set to make $11.3 million this year -- you'd think that would be enough to sort out his finances, but it's hard to have any faith in Eddy. |

Wed Oct 13 2010 | 10:34 | Knicks hire Mason to help Curry |
The Knicks have enlisted ex-player Anthony Mason to help Eddy Curry get in shape. |
The Knicks are making it look like they actually want Curry to contribute this year. Mason is charged with helping Curry lose weight as he tries to lose some weight himself. Regardless, even if Curry got in shape and managed to stay injury free, we doubt he'll have a role on the Knicks. |

For once, it looks like Curry is going to get back before his expected injury timetable said he would. Regardless, Curry isn't going to get any real burn. He's just playing out the string in New York. |
