Earl Clark had 14 points, 12 rebounds, a steal and a block on 6-of-9 shooting in 41 minutes on Tuesday.
Dwight Howard was out again with his shoulder injury, while Pau Gasol left this game with a foot injury that could potentially keep him out for multiple games. As if owners needed more reasons to keep Clark around, they got some tonight.

Mon Feb 4 201308:14Earl Clark wants to stick w/ Lakers long-term
Earl Clark said that Mike D'Antoni's style "fits" and he would love to re-sign with the Lakers after the season.
Clark has gone from benchwarmer to impact player, racking up the dollar signs in the process. He'll be an unrestricted free agent after the season, and although he'd like to remain with the Lakers, he's going to draw interest from a number of teams on the open market and could price himself out of LA's range. The Lakers might just have a bigger priority in free agency this summer, and perhaps you've heard of him: Dwight Howard.

Sun Feb 3 201315:56Earl Clark gets 17 & 10 w/ two stls, two blks
Earl Clark was terrific in Sunday's razor-thin victory in Detroit, scoring 17 points with one 3-pointer, 10 rebounds, two steals, two blocks and zero turnovers.
Clark has carved out a nice spot in Mike D'Antoni's rotation and he's getting an additional boost from Dwight Howard's ongoing shoulder injury, logging 42 minutes in today's matinee. Given Dwight's tentative status, Pau Gasol's bench role and Clark's own solid play this season, fantasy owners should cling to him until he cools off.

Sat Feb 2 201302:02Clark bounces back with double-double
Earl Clark bounced back from Wednesday's slow night with a double-double on Friday, scoring 13 points on 6-of-15 shooting with 10 rebounds, one steal, and one block in 36 minutes.
We advised a hold on Wednesday and with Dwight Howard struggling with a shoulder injury, owners shouldn't panic about slow nights at least until Howard is back.

Thu Jan 31 201302:04Earl Clark quiet in loss to Suns
Earl Clark had five points, eight rebounds and a steal on 1-of-4 shooting in Wednesday's loss.
While this is slightly concerning, especially given his lack of shots, he played 30 minutes. Additionally, Dwight Howard went down with his bad right shoulder again and was unable to return. Clark was due for an off night and will remain a must-own player if Howard is going to miss time. Just hold onto him if you own him. He has been hot and had 20 points, 12 boards and four 3-pointers on Tuesday.

Wed Jan 30 201302:22Earl Clark with 20 points, 12 boards, 4 3's
Earl Clark hit 8-of-11 shots and a career-high four 3-pointers for 20 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and six turnovers in Tuesday's win, the third straight for the Lakers.
Clark, who is starting over Pau Gasol, was the team's leading rebounder tonight, and was second in minutes played and points scored, behind only Dwight Howard in both. He's averaging 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 3-pointers while hitting 50 percent of his shots over his last five games, and looks like a great fantasy pickup right now if he's available in your league.

Sat Jan 26 201302:49Clark quiet in Friday's win
Earl Clark scored seven points on 3-of-8 shooting (including a three) with six rebounds and one steal in 27 minutes on Friday against the Jazz.
Clark has been productive enough to be in many lineups so it's going to take more than one slow night for us to advise a drop in most formats. If it becomes a trend, we'll let you know.

Wed Jan 23 201323:26Earl Clark plays team-high 40 minutes
Earl Clark played a team-high 40 minutes in Wednesday's loss, scoring 11 points with nine rebounds, one steal and one turnover.
He didn't block any shots tonight, but he's averaging 1.8 swats in five starts this season, and it looks like he'll play heavy minutes whether or not Dwight Howard's latest shoulder injury costs him any games. Clark has been a fifth-round value (nine-cat) over the past two weeks.

Tue Jan 22 201315:18Earl Clark now locked in as starter
Earl Clark will start at power forward for the foreseeable future.
Coach Mike D'Antoni has decided that four-time Pau Gasol can not play with Dwight Howard in his system. "We got to go small," D'Antoni said. "That's just the way it is." Clark certainly has some upside for fantasy owners as he'll push for 27-30 minutes nightly. In five starts this season, the versatile athlete has averaged 9.4 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 blocks and 0.6 3-pointers.

Tue Jan 22 201300:20Earl Clark logs 35 minutes in Monday start
Earl Clark played 35 minutes a start at power forward on Monday and had 12 points, eight boards and two blocks against the Bulls.
It was a good start for Clark in the starting lineup and he also missed a 3-point attempt. He probably won't see 35 minutes often and Dwight Howard battling foul trouble did help Clark's minutes allotment. He's still an interesting pickup in standard leagues with the Mike D'Antoni playing the part of mad scientist and trying to run with a team that has two of the best big men in the NBA in Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard.

Mon Jan 21 201320:40Earl Clark will be the starter at PF
Mike D'Antoni said Earl Clark will take over as the starting power forward for the Lakers.
The move is expected to be permanent and Pau Gasol will lead the second unit. "We're better when we're small," Mike D'Antoni said. Clark has been the only pleasant storyline for the Lakers this year and his hustle from Sunday's loss clearly spoke volumes. He has very nice upside since he is capable of playing big minutes with his versatility, provides defensive stats and hits 3-pointers, so he's worth a long look in standard leagues.

Sun Jan 20 201315:38Earl Clark scores 14 points with 14 boards
Earl Clark saw extended minutes with Dwight Howard getting ejected in the first half of Sunday's game, scoring 14 points with 14 boards, two assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer.
He definitely got an A for effort in this game and was relentlessly going after every board even remotely close to him. Clark had six offensive rebounds, shot 6-of-10 from the field and was arguably LA's best player in 35 minutes. As indicated by his steal, block and 3-pointer in this game, Clark has very nice upside and the Lakers could really use his energy. He also has the versatility to play in any frontcourt spot and he's worth a look in standard leagues.

Fri Jan 18 201301:49Earl Clark plays through illness Thursday
Earl Clark played through an illness on Thursday and had six points, seven boards, two assists and two 3-pointers in 22 minutes against the Heat.
Mike D'Antoni said that Clark will remain in the rotation, but it's unclear how many minutes he'll see. He does offer some upside since he takes threes, but he's not likely to see enough minutes to be owned in standard leagues. Clark will likely split time with Antawn Jamison (12 points, six boards, two assists and one 3-pointer in 22 minutes) and they should cancel each other out in even 14-team leagues.

Thu Jan 17 201308:37Earl Clark expected to play on Thursday
Earl Clark (flu-like symptoms) is expected to play on Thursday despite being listed as questionable.
Clark could remain in the starting lineup if Pau Gasol (concussion) is cleared to play and is brought off the bench, but it's possible the Lakers reconfigure things and go another route. Either way, Clark is expected to remain a prominent part of the rotation with Gasol back in the lineup.

Wed Jan 16 201315:26Earl Clark questionable for Thursday vs. Heat
Earl Clark has flu-like symptoms and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Heat.
D'Antoni said he expects Clark to play Thursday, but Pau Gasol (concussion) is also set to be re-evaluated tomorrow and it appears Clark's time in the spotlight could be coming to an end. Clark averaged 9.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 blocks in 32 minutes per game since being inserted into the starting lineup on Jan. 11.

Wed Jan 16 201301:11Earl Clark has nine rebounds in 24 minutes
Earl Clark made another start at power forward on Tuesday and had six points, nine rebounds, four assists and a block in 24 minutes.
Pau Gasol will be reevaluated for his concussion again on Wednesday and is nearing a return. And once it happens, both Clark and Antawn Jamison (10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, three 3-pointers) are going to take a big hit.

Tue Jan 15 201308:32D'Antoni reiterates Clark will stay in lineup
Mike D'Antoni reiterated that Earl Clark will remain in the rotation when Pau Gasol (concussion) returns.
"He'll play," D'Antoni said. "I don't know exactly what we'll do, but he's definitely in the rotation." Clark's energy is rubbing off on his teammates, and he's proven to be effective over a short stretch. With Jordan Hill (hip) out for the season, Clark's size and length will be critical.

Sat Jan 12 201317:12Earl Clark will stay in rotation for Lakers
Mike D'Antoni said that Earl Clark will remain in the rotation even when Pau Gasol (concussion) returns.
He played a grand total of 35 minutes before he was called upon with Gasol, Dwight Howard and Jordan Hill going down. Antawn Jamison leads the Lakers in minutes per game off the bench among their frontcourt players, which is enough to suggest Clark can possibly hold his minutes in the mid-20s once the Lakers are healthy. He's worth a look in standard leagues.

Sat Jan 12 201302:22Earl Clark double-doubles on Friday
Earl Clark made his first start of the season on Friday and had 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, one steal and three blocks in 37 minutes against the Thunder.
It wasn't quite the 22-point, 13-board explosion from Wednesday, but those that picked him up should certainly be happy with this performance. Clark offers very nice upside since he takes 3-pointers and can provide some defense. He's far from a lock for production with Dwight Howard (shoulder) and Pau Gasol (concussion) due back at some point, but he's worth a look in some standard leagues with Jordan Hill out for the season.

Fri Jan 11 201314:20Earl Clark starting on Friday
Earl Clark will start in place of Pau Gasol (concussion) in Friday's game against the Thunder.
Clark earned the promotion by posting 22 points, 13 rebounds and three assists off the bench on Wednesday night. We wouldn't expect a repeat performance Friday. His main task in this one will be defending Kevin Durant, something that could both tire him out and land him in foul trouble. The rest of the Lakers' starting five will be Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace and Robert Sacre.
