Mon Mar 7 201112:26Ben Wallace returns to practice for Pistons
Ben Wallace has returned to the team and is a participant in team practice after addressing family concerns and his brother's funeral.
We would assume that he will be in the lineup on Wednesday. His return might take minutes away from Greg Monroe's but don't expect much out of Wallace.

Fri Mar 4 201117:02Wallace out through Saturday
Ben Wallace remains away from the Pistons as he attends his oldest brother's funeral.
The funeral for Wallace's brother is Saturday, meaning the earliest Big Ben will be back with the team is Sunday. He may get back in the starting five over Chris Wilcox, but Greg Monroe's monster minutes are here to stay.

Ben Wallace (personal) will be away from the Pistons indefinitely.
Wallace is part of the veteran core that is butting heads with John Kuester and he is now dealing with the death of his brother. Look for Greg Monroe's breakout to continue.

Sat Feb 26 201117:18Ben Wallace (personal) out indefinitely
Ben Wallace is out of the Pistons' lineup indefinitely due to the death of his brother, Rev. James McBride.
Our thoughts are with Big Ben as he copes with his loss.
Fri Feb 25 201113:23Ben Wallace out for personal reasons
Ben Wallace missed the Pistons shootaround on Friday due to a family matter.
Big Ben has missed other games for the same reason this year, and it doesn't sound like he'll be available tonight. Consider him day-to-day, while rookie Greg Monroe should continue to gobble up all the minutes he can handle.

Wed Feb 16 201117:35Wallace: Pistons plagued by internal fighting
Terry Foster of the Detroit News reports that "Players barely listen to [John Kuester] during timeout huddles."
Ben Wallace has tried to play the role of mediator between Kuester and the rest of the team, but it's clear that the Pistons coach has long ago lost his squad. It still seems like just a matter of time before he's fired, and a new coaching regime would hopefully help provide some consistency and clarity in the rotation.

Wed Feb 9 201123:00Ben Wallace productive vs. Cavs
Ben Wallace had eight points, nine rebounds, two steals and a block in Wednesday's easy win at Cleveland.
No, not a line that will turn heads, but much better than what he's been doing. If he does it again in the near future, he might be worth putting on the radar, although we are not expecting a repeat performance in his next game.
Fri Feb 4 201118:20Ben Wallace starting for Pistons
Ben Wallace will return to the Pistons' starting lineup vs. the Nets on Friday, with Greg Monroe sliding to PF.
Detroit may just be going big for one game to match the Nets' size, but owners in deep leagues should keep an eye on Big Ben all the same. Monroe should continue to play quality minutes no matter where he starts the game.

Thu Feb 3 201113:04Wallace willing to come off the bench
Coach John Kuester said there is no rush to get Ben Wallace back in the starting lineup and added that Big Ben is okay with that.
Greg Monroe will continue to start as long as he is playing well. The rookie's minutes will take a little hit when Wallace is active, but it's not a huge concern. Monroe is averaging 10.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals as a starter.

Thu Feb 3 201100:35Ben Wallace quietly returns to lineup
Ben Wallace returned from a personal leave but had just four rebounds, two blocks and no points in Wednesday's loss.
He came off the bench behind Greg Monroe (10 points, 8 boards, 1 steal, 2 blocks) and Monroe's owners have to hope it stays that way going forward.
Tue Feb 1 201112:30Wallace returns to Pistons practice
Ben Wallace (personal) returned to Pistons practice Tuesday.
Wallace will play in Wednesday's game against the Bobcats. He'll likely come off the bench, but will eat into rookie Greg Monroe's minutes significantly.

Sun Jan 30 201110:52Ben Wallace, Stuckey will both sit on Sunday
Ben Wallace (personal) and Rodney Stuckey (shoulder) are both out for Sunday's game against the Knicks.
Both are considered day-to-day. With a matchup against the defensively-challenged Knicks on tap, Greg Monroe and Ben Gordon become solid spot starts today. And the more time that Wallace misses, the more he'll be phased out. Monroe has the upside to be on a roster in most formats.

Fri Jan 28 201111:17Ben Wallace out Friday w/ family issues
Pistons veteran Ben Wallace won't play Friday as he attends to a family matter.
Wallace has been coming off the bench and losing minutes to the Pistons' young players recently, and his fantasy value is decidedly ebbing. Consider him day-to-day.

Sun Jan 23 201101:45Ben Wallace returned to action on Saturday January 22
Ben Wallace returned to action on Saturday January 22.
Sat Jan 22 201123:22Wallace (ankle) returns to action for Pistons
Ben Wallace (ankle) returned to action on Saturday against the Suns, scoring no points on three shot attempts with seven rebounds, no assists, a steal, and a block in 25 minutes off the bench.
It's unclear if he will continue to come off the bench or not, but he really doesn't carry much fantasy value, even for his non-scoring statistics. He's much too injury prone and likely to get phased out as the year goes on to rely upon.
Sat Jan 22 201119:05Ben Wallace (ankle) active on Saturday
Ben Wallace (ankle) is active for the Pistons on Saturday.
Wallace might just be dressing as an insurance policy for the frontcourt, and in any case he won't be starting.
Fri Jan 21 201113:40Ben Wallace (ankle) still iffy for Friday
Ben Wallace (ankle) is questionable for Friday's game.
Consider the veteran center a game-time decision. He's supposed to resume starting once healthy, but his outlook has dimmed even further due to the emergence of Greg Monroe.

Thu Jan 20 201112:38Ben Wallace does extensive work Wednesday
Ben Wallace (ankle) did "extensive drills" Wednesday and appears close to a return.
Wallace has missed five straight games, during which time rookie Greg Monroe has flourished. Big Ben may get his starting job back out of respect, but Monroe will almost certainly get more minutes. At 15-27, the Pistons must develop their young players.

Wed Jan 19 201110:55Ben Wallace out, Monroe gets another start
Ben Wallace (ankle) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Celtics.
No surprise here. With rookie Greg Monroe impressing daily, there is no reason for Wallace to rush back. In fact, the Pistons probably prefer Wallace sits out so Monroe can experience against centers like Shaquille O'Neal. Consider Big Ben day-to-day.
