Thu Nov 22 201201:09Brown scores 10 points in start at SG
Shannon Brown moved into the starting lineup at shooting guard in Wednesday's win over the Blazers, scoring 10 points on 2-of-4 shooting (all threes) with one rebound, two assists, and one steal in 26 minutes.
This performance is somewhat serviceable but it's not the breakout moment that many folks were hoping for. Brown is bound to get hot at times whether he's starting or coming off the bench, but his value is depressed by his poor peripherals. Since the Suns won big and Jared Dudley (four points) struggled, we're guessing he'll continue to start.

Wed Nov 21 201212:03Report: Brown replacing Dudley in Suns lineup
Shannon Brown is reportedly set to start over Jared Dudley for the Suns.
Alvin Gentry promised lineup changes, and while nothing is official, it looks like Dudley will be sent to the bench in favor of Brown. Dudley has struggled this season with averages of 8.5 points and 1.0 treys on 42.7 percent shooting, while Brown is averaging 13.4 points and 1.1 treys on 41.4 percent shooting. Brown's fantasy value is based squarely on his ability to hit the 3-ball and his scoring.

Sat Nov 17 201205:37Brown scores seven points in 15 minutes
Shannon Brown scored seven points in 15 minutes off the bench on Friday, hitting 3-of-6 shots (no threes) with one rebound and no other stats.
When he's on, Brown provides some scoring and 3-point shooting but his peripherals keep him from holding substantial value. We warned about his inconsistency after his recent hot streak, and it didn't take long for that downside to play itself out.

Thu Nov 15 201201:33Brown gets 28 minutes, scores 11
Shannon Brown scored 11 points and had one block in 28 minutes against the Bulls on Wednesday.
Jared Dudley played just 22 minutes and put in only five points with one 3-pointer. Brown looked like the go-to guy late in this game, but he couldn't come through and only finished making 4-of-15 attempts from the field. Dudley and Brown are going to cancel each other out quite a bit this year.

Tue Nov 13 201204:31Brown scores 19 points in 29 minutes
Shannon Brown scored 19 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 7-of-16 shots (no threes) with two rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.
Brown has been providing mid-round value over the past week, but is still only providing late-round value on the year. His value can slip easily because he doesn't do much besides hit threes and score, but for now he's worth owning in most formats.

Sat Nov 10 201205:18Shannon Brown scores 22 points vs. Cavs
Shannon Brown scored 22 points on Friday against the Cavs, hitting 8-of-13 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 26 minutes off the bench.
Brown is hot right now and Jared Dudley (eight points) is scuffling, and though we've seen inconsistency out of Brown in the past he is certainly worth a pickup.

Wed Nov 7 201221:47Shannon Brown hits six treys in win
Shannon Brown came off the bench to hit 7-of-12 shots and tied a career high with six 3-pointers (all in the fourth quarter), and scored a season-high 24 points to go along with two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 24 minutes of a win over the Bobcats on Wednesday.
Starter Jared Dudley had 10 points, four boards and three assists in 31 minutes, as his disappointing season continues. If Dudley doesn't get it going soon, Brown could steal his job. Brown's not a must-add player just yet, but did have 18 points on Monday and is someone owners should think about grabbing if you have a player you want to drop. The six treys tied a career high for Brown and he's hit nine of them over his last two games. If you want to drop Dudley for Brown it might pay off, but there is risk involved as long as Dudley is starting.

Tue Nov 6 201201:56Brown scores 18 points off the bench
Shannon Brown scored 18 points off the bench on Monday, hitting 5-of-12 shots (including three treys) with three rebounds, two assist, one steal, and one block in 21 minutes.
Brown has posted mostly pedestrian numbers this season in standard formats, but with Jared Dudley (eight points, 3-of-9 FGs) struggling feel free to give Brown a look. While we haven't seen a whole lot of 'good' out of him in Phoenix, he has had his moments, and his value is buoyed somewhat by the Suns' lack of depth.

Sat Nov 3 201206:16Brown scores 14 points off the bench
Shannon Brown scored 14 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 7-of-14 shots (no threes) with four rebounds and two steals in 25 minutes.
Brown is likely to bounce on and off your league's waiver wire this season, but if he can get 25-plus minutes he might be able to retain some late round value.

Wed Oct 24 201201:37Shannon Brown struggles to find touch
Shannon Brown knocked down one three as part of his seven points on 3-of-10 shooting to go along with four assists and two rebounds in 24 minutes Tuesday.
Brown is pretty much resigned to being Jared Dudley's backup at SG and performances like Tuesday night certainly won't help matters. Brown could be worth a look at the end of drafts and his value would rise if Dudley were to get hurt or lose his spot as the Suns' starter.

Tue Oct 23 201204:47Brown (ankle) returns to action on Monday
Shannon Brown (ankle) returned to action on Monday against the Kings, scoring 12 points on 4-of-11 shooting (including a three) with one rebound and one assist in 22 minutes.
Brown has been quiet throughout the exhibition season, but like Markieff Morris and Wes Johnson he enjoys the opportunity afforded by playing for a very shallow Suns squad. He was much better as a starter last season, but Jared Dudley (25 points) has that job pretty much nailed down. Still, Brown will be worth a look at the ends of drafts.

Fri Oct 19 201220:26Shannon Brown (ankle) out on Friday
Shannon Brown did not play on Friday night against the Thunder after suffering a left ankle sprain in Wednesday's game against the Mavs.
The Suns are not very deep and Brown was able to flash some productivity last season when given the minutes, though he was better in a starting role and that doesn't seem likely for this season. He needs to get back on the court and make some noise to be worth a look in the later rounds of your 12- or 14-team draft.

Thu Oct 18 201203:59Shannon Brown returns from eye injury
Shannon Brown returned from an eye injury and scored eight points on 3-of-3 shooting in 16 minutes.
The eye injury was just a freak accident and the Suns just took it easy with Brown. He is likely going to backup Jared Dudley and isn't worth drafting in fantasy leagues.

Shannon Brown bumped heads with a teammate in Monday's practice and needed stitches.
It doesn't sound serious, as he'll compete with Jared Dudley for minutes at shooting guard this season.

Fri Oct 5 201212:40Shannon Brown competing for starting SG spot
Shannon Brown is competing for the starting shooting guard position.
Brown averaged 15.8 points, 2.1 treys and 1.0 steals in 19 games as the starter at SG last season, and after re-signing with the team on a two-year deal, he is locked into a battle with Jared Dudley for the starting spot. However, his numbers were not as impressive in a bench role, and if that's where he winds up again this season, there isn't much to be seen here from a fantasy perspective.

Thu Jul 26 201207:39Suns officially re-sign G Shannon Brown
Suns re-signed G Shannon Brown.
Brown signed his two-year, $7 million contract to return to the Suns. "I had a career year even with an up-and-down season," he said. The athletic guard averaged 11.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.2 treys on 42 percent shooting in 24 minutes per game last season.

Fri Jul 20 201215:17Suns sign UFA G/F Shannon Brown
Updating a previous item, the Suns have agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent Shannon Brown.
The contract is for two years, although the finances are not yet known. In 19 games as a starter last season, Brown averaged 15.8 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, while shooting .406 from three-point range. Brown will have to fight for minutes with Jared Dudley and Michael Beasley, but could be a nice fantasy sleeper for this season if he gets enough playing time.

Fri Jul 20 201214:38Suns closing in on deal with Shannon Brown?
The Suns may be closing in on a deal with unrestricted free agent G/F Shannon Brown.
The Suns have swung and missed on Eric Gordon and were talked about as potential landing spots for O.J. Mayo and Courtney Lee as well. With those players now off the board, Brown is one of the better swingmen left in the FA pool. He averaged over 15 ppg in starts last season and is entering his prime at age 26. With the Suns rebuilding, he is someone to keep your eye on in the preseason as a potential fantasy sleeper.

Wed Jul 18 201215:09Hornets are interested in Shannon Brown
Shannon Brown is being pursued by the Hornets, along with four other teams.
Brown is supposedly close to signing a deal with an unknown team, and if it is indeed the Hornets, he would provide backup to Eric Gordon at SG. Gordon only played nine games last season for the Hornets, so his backup could potentially get major minutes in an effort to keep him healthy. Brown is known to be looking for a multi-year deal, although it is yet to be determined if any team will give him what he wants.
