Tue Apr 24 201223:34Derek Fisher plays well in 29 minutes
Derek Fisher had 11 points, five assists and a steal in 29 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Kings.
With James Harden unlikely to play again on Wednesday, Fisher might be a sneaky play in that one, but it was Daequan Cook who got hot on Tuesday, hitting four 3-pointers and scoring 19 points in 21 minutes.

Fri Apr 20 201208:39Fisher on the outs as NBPA President?
The NBPA has voted to "seek the resignation" of President Derek Fisher at the urging of executive director Billy Hunter, sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
According to Wojnarowski, Fisher has "flatly refused to step down" and is working to "gather a coalition of players to challenge Hunter's business and financial practices." Well, that's rather ugly. Wojnarowski writes that the showdown has been "building for months," and recently escalated when Fisher sought an independent auditor to investigate Hunter.

Fri Apr 6 201222:11Fisher does nothing in 27 minutes off bench
Derek Fisher played a whopping 27 minutes on Friday, but was his normal awful self with zero points, two rebounds, and one assist.
If Sam Presti didn't realize that Scott Brooks wouldn't be able to resist the coach-by-narrative tastiness of a Derek Fisher, then he shouldn't have picked up Fisher as anything but an assistant coach. Fisher has no business playing anything more than 10-15 minutes at this stage in his career, and this is just the most recent coaching blunder to go on Brooks' resume. The Thunder lost, too.

Sat Mar 24 201202:49Fisher awful for the Thunder in Friday's win
Derek Fisher was awful on Friday night, hitting just 2-of-11 shots from the field while supplying terrible defense, and finished with five points, two rebounds, three assists, and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes off the bench.
Hilariously, home-fried outlets and low-hanging fruit pickers in the media drooled over the two buckets Fisher made, going back to the clutch narrative over and over again despite needing to be benched for Royal Ivey. The hope for Thunder fans is that Fisher can keep Scottie Brooks from playing king of the castle, without causing Brooks to fall in love with the idea of his championship past.

Thu Mar 22 201200:57Derek Fisher makes Thunder debut
Derek Fisher made his Thunder debut on Wednesday, finishing the easy win with five points, one assist and a 3-pointer in 19 minutes.
Fisher has no fantasy value, but isn't thrilled that the Lakers cut him loose. The Thunder play at the Lakers next Thursday on TNT, and that could be the one time this season that Fisher could make for a sneaky pick-and-play.

Wed Mar 21 201219:24Derek Fisher officially joins Thunder
Derek Fisher announced his signing with the Thunder on Wednesday, and you can bet he's got his sights set on the Lakers.
"I am extremely honored to announce that I will join the OKC Thunder in pursuit of the 2011-12 Championship," he wrote. It's hard to say what exactly Fisher's role will be with his new team, but the little fantasy value he had is now gone.

Wed Mar 21 201211:13Derek Fisher in OKC to finalize a contract
Derek Fisher is in Oklahoma City meeting with GM Sam Presti in order to "finalize" talks on a contract Wednesday morning.
It's been heavily speculated that Oklahoma City would land Fisher, and he's on his way to joining the Thunder. It makes a lot of sense with Eric Maynor (torn ACL) out for the season, and Fisher will bring championship experience to an extraordinarily young team. He will not have any fantasy value.

Tue Mar 20 201213:08Fisher to talk with Spurs, Heat, Thunder
Derek Fisher will discuss "ideas and concepts" with the Heat, Thunder and Spurs.
These three teams have been heavily rumored to be in Fisher's mix, but it sounds like the veteran will take his time in deciding his next destination. There is no fantasy value to be had here.

Tue Mar 20 201209:03Report: Heat, Thunder favorites for Fisher
ESPN's Marc Stein reports the Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder have "emerged as the early leaders" to sign Derek Fisher.
Fisher would make sense in either location, but he'll be more of a coach on the bench than an actual contributor on the floor. Regardless of where he signs, Fisher won't have any fantasy value.

Mon Mar 19 201209:08Rockets, Derek Fisher reach buyout agreement
The Rockets have finalized a buyout with Derek Fisher.
Fisher, who has no plans to retire, is now subject to waivers. If no one claims him by Wednesday, he'll become an unrestricted free agent and can sign with any team except for the Lakers. The Thunder, Bulls, Heat and Spurs are all rumored to be interested in Fisher as a veteran presence and reserve guard.

Sun Mar 18 201211:08Derek Fisher reports late to Rockets
The Rockets and Lakers mutually agreed to allow Derek Fisher an extra 24 hours to report to Houston, where he is expected to be bought out of his contract.
Fisher wasn't pleased at being dealt to the Rockets, but he now has the opportunity to bank a few million dollars (the buyout of his $3.4 million player option for next year) and still re-sign with a contender. By missing Saturday's game, Fisher ended his league-best streak of 537 consecutive games played.

Fri Mar 16 201214:48Rockets to buy out G Derek Fisher
The Rockets will buy out the contract of recently-acquired G Derek Fisher.
The move signifies that the Rockets are clearly looking towards the future and wanting to develop their younger guards. Fisher is one of those players who is better in real-life than in fantasy hoops and will probably get picked up relatively quickly. No matter where he ends up, he will have minimal fantasy value.

Fri Mar 16 201212:50Derek Fisher expected to be bought out
GM Daryl Morey would not address the acquisition of Derek Fisher, and beat writer Jonathan Feigen expects the veteran to be bought out.
There has been speculation that Fisher will be bought out, but under the rules of the new CBA, Fisher will not be allowed to return to the Lakers this season. If the veteran is bought out, it's unclear where he may head next.

Thu Mar 15 201215:08Derek Fisher traded to the Rockets
The Rockets acquired Derek Fisher and a 2012 first-round pick in exchange for Jordan Hill.
It's the end of an era for Fisher, who was drafted by the Lakers in the first round of the 1996 draft. Now 37, he's not even really serviceable as a backup to Goran Dragic. Once Kyle Lowry (bacterial infection) gets healthy, he'll be the No. 3 point guard. The Lakers dumped Fisher just to reduce their luxury tax bill.

Sat Mar 3 201204:08Fisher picks on Jimmer most of Friday
Derek Fisher scored six points on 3-of-3 shooting with four rebounds, seven assists, and a block against the Kings on Friday.
Fisher did much of his damage against Jimmer Fredette, who is still learning how to play defense, so we're discounting this performance.

Thu Feb 23 201201:53Fisher, Bynum lead Lakers win over Mavs
Derek Fisher scored a season-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with three rebounds and no other stats in the Lakers' win over the Mavs on Wednesday.
Fisher has no fantasy value, but he sticks with the Lakers because he'll have nights like these where he'll come up big, especially late. Andrew Bynum was a beast with 19 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block, and a 7-of-8 mark from the foul line, while Kobe Bryant (15 points, 4-of-15 FGs, seven turnovers, relatively full line) and Pau Gasol (24 points, nine boards, four assists, three steals) joined Dirk Nowitzki to miss all six of their foul shots in crunch time. Make your throws, kids.

Sat Feb 18 201201:35Derek Fisher plays through illness Friday
Derek Fisher, who was iffy for Friday due to an illness, started and had 12 points, two assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-8 shooting.
Fisher has no fantasy value in most leagues, but played well tonight.

Fri Feb 17 201214:51Derek Fisher (sinusitis) to start Friday
Derek Fisher was at Friday's shootaround and will start for the Lakers on Friday against the Suns.
Fisher hasn't missed a game since 2005, so it was doubtful that he wouldn't make it back for Friday's tilt against the Suns. Even though Fisher is the starter, Steve Blake has been getting more run at PG for the Lakers and is the better pickup right now, although neither should be owned in standard 12-team leagues.
