The non-quality start Gomez's third straight since rejoining the Indians rotation, while he's allowed two home runs in two of his past three outings. Nevertheless, he could be an acceptable AL-only league streaming option against the Twins next Tuesday.

Sat Apr 28 201218:19Jeanmar Gomez goes six innings in loss
Jeanmar Gomez yielded two runs over six innings in a loss to the Angels on Saturday.
It was his first start since serving his five-game suspension, though he was essentially just pushed back a day. Gomez gave up just five hits (including a home run) while fanning seven and walking a pair, but the Indians' offense didn't give him any help. He now has a 2.35 ERA and 13/3 K/BB ratio in 15 1/3 innings over three starts and one relief appearances this season, but fantasy owners would do well to look elsewhere for help, especially with a start against the Rangers coming up next.

Cleveland third baseman Jack Hannahan and manager Manny Acta were ejected as well following the altercation. Gomez had thrown two perfect innings and had a strong chance of earning a win after being staked to a 5-0 lead.

Tue Mar 13 201218:31Jeanmar Gomez terrific Tuesday
Jeanmar Gomez was superb in three innings of relief Tuesday, giving up just one hit and no runs against the Rangers.
The young right-hander has now spun seven shutout innings so far this spring as he tries to win the final spot in the Indians rotation. Gomez had a terrific year at Triple-A in 2011, posting a 2.54 ERA over 22 starts, and he went through a nice stretch late in the year for the Tribe before getting pummeled in his final outing of the year. He doesn't miss bats, though, and possesses little fantasy upside.

Tue Sep 27 201123:09Gomez rocked for eight runs in loss
Jeanmar Gomez was rocked for eight runs on 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings in a loss Tuesday to the Tigers.
A highly-disappointing start to end his season. Gomez had become the Indians' most reliable starter, winning each of his last five outings while not permitting more than two runs in any start. Of course, he doesn't miss many bats and isn't a strikeout artist, so he's susceptible to implosions on nights when his stuff isn't working. Gomez went 5-3 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.51 WHIP with the big club in 2011. He'll enter spring training with a shot to earn back a spot in the rotation.
