Garcia allowed a solo home run to San Francisco's Buster Posey on Wednesday, and in his last 3.2 innings, he's surrendered six runs.

In each of the three games recently in which Garcia was charged with one or more runs, he's given up a home run each time. His 14.5 K/9 is certainly elite, but he'll need to do a better job keeping the ball in the park to be trusted in the late innings going forward.

Garcia gave up three runs in the ninth to blow the save against the Rockies on Thursday.

Garcia gave up a leadoff single to Nick Hundley and a one-out single to Drew Stubbs. Charlie Blackmon was called out on strikes before Carlos Gonzalez drove a 2-1 pitch halfway up the right-field pavilion to give the Rockies a 5-4 lead. It was Garcia's third blown save in four chances. Luckily for the Dodgers, closer Kanley Jansen could be activated as soon as Friday.

Manager Don Mattingly said Monday that Kenley Jansen (foot) wouldn't close right way upon his return from the DL, potentially allowing Garcia to hang on to the ninth-inning role a little while longer, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Mattingly has never anointed Garcia as his closer while Jansen has been out, but it's clear the 24-year-old has demonstrated that he's the best healthy arm in the Dodgers' bullpen. Though he has only one save to his name this season, Garcia boasts a 0.63 ERA, 0.55 WHIP, and a dazzling 23:4 K:BB ratio over 14.1 innings, numbers that should make him a desirable commodity in most formats even if Jansen eventually recaptures the ninth-inning role at some point, as is anticipated.

Garcia threw a perfect ninth inning against the Padres to get his first major league save, striking out two. After the game, manager Don Mattingly said that he'd continue to mix-and-match in the ninth inning rather than name a full-time fill-in closer while Kenley Jansen is out, the Orange County Register reports.

Garcia has been nothing short of electric in his brief Dodgers tenure, beginning with a callup in September last season. He now has a 0.93 ERA, 16:3 K:BB and just three hits allowed in 9.2 innings this season. Mattingly might not commit to Garcia getting the next save chance for the Dodgers, but there's a really good chance that he'll be an option for future high-leverage situations.

Garcia has made the Dodgers' Opening Day roster, MLB.com reports.

Garcia, Paco Rodriguez and Pedro Baez beat out veterans Sergio Santos, David Aardsma and David Huff for the final three bullpen slots on the team.

Garcia is making a strong bid for inclusion in the Opening Day bullpen with 7.1 innings of shutout four-hit ball and a 9:1 K:BB.

Garcia saw time with the big club last September and took advantage with a 1.80 ERA and 9:1 K:BB in 10 innings. He'll spend a good portion of 2015 in the big leagues, even if he's not on the Opening Day roster.

Garcia was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, David Vassegh of AM 570 FOX Sports LA reports.

Garcia, 23, was one of the top relievers at Albuquerque this season, producing a 3.10 ERA and 69:18 K:BB ratio over 61 innings. He'll likely settle into low-leverage work with the big club in September.

Garcia is likely to be recalled on Monday when rosters expand, the Dodgers' official site reports.

Garcia has been impressive in a tough environment for pitchers, posting a 3.10 ERA, 10.2 K/9, and 2.7 BB/9 for Triple-A Albuquerque. He'll work in middle relief with the big club.

Garcia has allowed just two runs in 10 July appearances with an 8:4 K:BB in nine innings.

For the year, Garcia has a solid 3.13 ERA and 53:14 k:BB in 46 innings. He's looking positioned for a September 1 call-up if he keeps this up.

Yimi Garcia was diagnosed with a bruised right kneecap.

Surgery won't be necessary, but the Dodgers will take it slow with him in the spring. Garcia was added to the 40-man roster after posting a 2.54 ERA, 19 saves and 85/14 K/BB ratio over 60 1/3 innings of relief last season in Double-A.

Yimi Garcia will have his knee examined on Sunday.

It's not clear when or how he suffered the injury or how serious it might be. Garcia, 23, was added to the 40-man roster over the winter but will almost surely begin the year in the minors.
