John Salmons (hip), who has missed 13 straight games, still has no timetable for his return.
At this point, it would be a surprise to see Salmons again this season. He shouldn't be on fantasy rosters.

Thu Apr 12 201206:40John Salmons has no timetable for return
John Salmons (hip) has no timetable for his return.
With seven games left in the regular season, there is no reason for owners to be holding out hope that Salmons, who is averaging just 7.5 points per game this season, will contribute on fantasy teams.

Wed Apr 11 201206:47John Salmons not traveling with Kings on trip
John Salmons (hip) is not traveling with the Kings on the current road trip.
We're marking Salmons as out indefinitely, as the earliest he could possibly play is Sunday against the Blazers. He's averaging just 7.5 points in 27 minutes per game this season.

Sat Apr 7 201215:28John Salmons still out w/ strained hip
John Salmons (strained hip) will not play on Saturday, his seventh consecutive DNP.
There's no clear return date for Salmons, who has had a very disappointing 2011-12 campaign with averages of 7.5 points and 2.9 rebounds in 27 minutes per game. He's officially day-to-day, but realistically seems closer to 'out indefinitely'.

Thu Apr 5 201217:16John Salmons out again on Thursday
John Salmons (hip) is not expected to play in Thursday's game against the Suns.
This will mark Salmons' sixth straight game out and there is no timetable for a return. With Marcus Thornton (calf) also out, Terrence Williams is getting plenty of burn.

Mon Apr 2 201220:46Report: Salmons (hip) to be out a while
John Salmons (hip) will not play on Monday and will reportedly "be out a while" according to beat writer Jason Jones.
This isn't exactly surprising and owners will want to watch Terrence Williams during the Kings' five-game week. He probably needs one more injury in front of him to hit the fantasy scene in standard leagues, but as we've all discussed numerous times, the upside is there if his head is screwed on straight.

Sat Mar 31 201222:24John Salmons out again w/ hip injury
John Salmons (hip) was not able to suit up for Saturday's game, though Tyreke Evans (back) has returned to the starting lineup.
Terrence Williams figures to absorb most of the minutes Salmons would have played, though he's only worth checking out in deep leagues. Salmons remains day-to-day in advance of Monday's game vs. the Wolves.

Fri Mar 30 201220:11Salmons (hip) not with Kings in Utah
John Salmons (hip) is not with the Kings for their game in Utah against the Jazz on Friday.
The Kings return home for Saturday's game so traveling to Utah for one game didn't make sense given his injury. We don't know that it's probable, but it's possible that he could be losing a rotation spot if Terrence Williams continues to impress.

Thu Mar 29 201206:56John Salmons sits out again on Wednesday
John Salmons (hip) did not play again on Wednesday.
Salmons sat out his second game in a row with the same hip injury that forced him to miss time earlier this season. Tyreke Evans should see increased minutes for as long as Salmons has to remain out.

Sun Mar 25 201201:32John Salmons solid in bench role on Sat.
John Salmons hit 7-of-12 FGs in 33 minutes off the bench on Saturday, finishing a tough loss to the Warriors with 17 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Salmons scored double-digit points once in the past six games and the Kings' rotation was off-kilter due to Jason Thompson's ankle injury, so this doesn't have much long-term meaning.

Sat Mar 17 201202:25John Salmons scores seven in rare start
John Salmons started on Friday, but only because Tyreke Evans missed the game with a sprained ankle.
Salmons played 40 minutes, but managed just seven points, three rebounds and four assists on 3-of-6 shooting. Evans should be back soon, so ignore Salmons for now.

Sat Mar 10 201204:10Salmons scores 10 points vs. Mavs
John Salmons scored 10 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 5-of-8 shots from the field (no threes) with two rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes.
Salmons got a normal amount of run despite the blowout win, and as you can see he's much too inconsistent for ownership in 12-14 team formats.

Fri Mar 9 201207:04John Salmons adjusting to new bench role
John Salmons is adjusting to his new reserve role, and admitted that the transition has not been easy.
"You never want to get benched, or demoted, or whatever the case may be," Salmons said Thursday. "But you've got to get over your pride and try to continue to try to help the team win." Keith Smart has focused on getting the ball in Salmons' hands and allowing him to be a facilitator, and since Salmons was drafted as a point guard, Smart is hoping that Salmons will be more effective with the ball in his hands. "I think I'm getting more comfortable with it every game," Salmons said. In six games since the All-Star break, Salmons is averaging 8.3 points and 1.0 treys in just under 24 minutes per game.

Tue Mar 6 201203:32Salmons posts nice line in 30 minutes vs. DEN
John Salmons played 30 minutes off the bench in Monday's overtime loss, scoring 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting (including two threes) with four rebounds, five assists, and a block.
This is very nice, and Keith Smart is developing a rapport with his veteran bench right now, but Salmons is still much too inconsistent deserve a pickup in 12-team formats. Smart's decision to run with his bench extensively was a mixed bag tonight, and though the Kings hung with a much better Nuggets team, they left a lot of opportunities on the floor late.

Wed Feb 22 201218:49John Salmons out again for Kings
John Salmons will miss Wednesday's game due to his lingering hip injury.
This should mean another solid run of minutes for Francisco Garcia off the Kings bench, but neither player has much fantasy appeal at this point.

Tue Feb 21 201219:14John Salmons inactive for Kings
John Salmons (undisclosed) is inactive for Tuesday's game against the Heat.
We knew that Salmons was on the bench as part of the Kings' new lineup, but we highly doubt he's a healthy scratch here. There's likely some kind of unreported injury. Salmons was expected to play about 20 minutes with the second unit.

Mon Feb 20 201211:59John Salmons is OK coming off bench
Coach Keith Smart said he wants John Salmons to give some "pop" off the bench.
With Isaiah Thomas looking strong as a starter, Salmons' shift to the bench may not be temporary. The veteran has no one to blame but himself for the demotion, as he's shooting 36.1 percent and scoring 7.0 points per game on the season.

Sun Feb 19 201220:43John Salmons quiet again in new bench role
John Salmons scored six points and grabbed one rebound in 20 minutes off the Kings' bench on Sunday.
Isaiah Thomas looks great as the team's starting PG, and Salmons' owners should cut bait.
