Martinez will take the hill in place of Derek Holland for Sunday's regular season finale, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Martinez was the originally scheduled pitcher for Sunday, but this came into question when Saturday's starter, Derek Holland, was scratched due to migraine headaches. There was a chance that the Rangers would elect to go with Holland instead Sunday, but they'll stick to the original schedule. Martinez has pitched relatively well in his last four starts, allowing just seven earned runs in 23 innings. Still, he doesn't go deep into games, and pitches for the worst team in all of baseball. He does make two home starts next week, toeing the rubber against Houston and Oakland, in case you need him.

Texas has gotten very little from their starting pitching this season, so Martinez was impressive by just tossing a quality start against a strong opponent. The Rangers haven't set their rotation yet for next week, but Martinez is likely to pitch at Oakland in his lone start.

Sun Jun 22 201401:14Nick Martinez holds down Angels
Nick Martinez was perfect for five innings on his way to allowing two runs in seven-plus innings Saturday against the Angels.
It's lefties that had killed Martinez, so facing the Angels righty heavy lineup wasn't such a bad matchup for him. He's now turned in back-to-back quality starts after ugly outings against the Orioles and Indians to begin June, but he's now gone nine major league starts without ever striking out more than three batters. We're not optimistic.
