Wed May 2 2012 | 04:31 | Marson hitless in rare start |
Lou Marson went 0-for-3 with a walk in Tuesday's 7-2 setback to the White Sox. |
It was the backup catcher's fourth start of the season, as he has been earning about one per week. He stranded five runners in this game, and is now batting 1-for-12 (.083). A career .215 hitter, don't expect Marson to make much of an impact regardless of playing time. |

Lou Marson hit his first career grand slam and threw out both runners attempting to steal against him Tuesday against the Angels. |
Marson definitely has some work to do this month if he wants to be a starting catcher next year. Of course, it won't happen in Cleveland regardless, but someone might want to trade for him if he starts to produce offensively. He's hitting .190 with three homers in 216 at-bats so far. |

Fri Jun 11 2010 | 09:47 | Indians option Marson to Triple-A |
Indians optioned C Lou Marson to Triple-A Columbus. |
Marson takes the hit with Carlos Santana's promotion. The 23-year-old backstop batted an anemic .191/.268/.262 with one home run and 12 RBI in 141 at-bats with the Indians this season, so the roster move is hardly unjust. |
Sat May 29 2010 | 17:41 | Marson has three RBI in wild win over Yanks |
Lou Marson doubled three times and drove in three runs in a wild 13-11 win over the Yankees on Saturday afternoon. |
The game took four hours and 22 minutes to complete. Austin Kearns, Mark Grudzielanek, Matt LaPorta and Jason Donald all drove in two runs apiece. It was Marson's first three-hit game since last September 17 and the first three-RBI game of his brief career. In fact, he entered Saturday's action with just four doubles and three RBI in 105 at-bats this season. It was a great afternoon for the young backstop, but he'll be giving way to top prospect Carlos Santana any day now. |
