Josh Willingham blasted two homers and collected four RBI in Thursday's loss to the Tigers.
It was his first multi-hit game of May. Despite an anemic batting average (.212), The Hammer is getting on base (.368) at a percentage better than his career mark (.362). Willingham is fifth in the American League with 27 walks. Despite recent struggles, he has a four-game hitting streak and three long flies during those contests. Now is probably the time to buy low.

Josh Willingham was hitless in four at-bats Friday and is hitting .198 for the year.
Willingham is hitting just .125 (6-for-48) this month and hasn't homered since April 29. It's fair to assume that his recent wrist soreness is a factor. We're not expecting 35 home runs again, but this might not be a bad time to buy low.

The Twins traded two-thirds of their outfield over the winter, yet they held on to Willingham, the oldest and most expensive of the trio. He probably won't be quite so productive this year as he was in 2012, but he's the favorite to lead the Twins in homers and RBI while batting in between Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau.

Sun Dec 2 201209:15Twins willing to trade anyone
Twins general manager Terry Ryan said he's willing to listen to trade proposals for any of his players.
"I've said this a couple times: We don't have any untouchables," Ryan said. "That's as plain an answer as I can give you. If somebody has some interest in one of our guys, we'll listen." For what it's worth, MLB.com's Peter Gammons has been told Joe Mauer is "not being traded," and 1500ESPN's Phil Mackey hears the Twins "really don't want to trade" Josh Willingham. As Ryan notes, the team will listen, but it's "going to take quite a bit to get them."

Mon Oct 1 201220:05Willingham's (shoulder) season likely over
Josh Willingham (shoulder) is likely done for the season.
Willingham is out of the lineup Monday for the sixth straight game due to a sprained left shoulder. "He can't reach up with his left arm or finish his swing with his left arm, so in my opinion he probably won't be in there the rest of the way," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "But I'm just guessing. I don't want to say he's out for the year because he hasn't told me, and the trainers haven't told me." He'll conclude the year with a nice .260/.366/.524 batting line with 35 homers.
