Sun Dec 4 201112:25Jossph Addai (hamstring) active for Week 13
Joseph Addai (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Addai was a late addition to the injury report but will attempt to play through an aggravation of his previous hamstring injury. Donald Brown is the preferred option for touches this week as the Colts will likely be forced to abandon the run against a Patriots team that's favored by a 20-point spread. Delone Carter will serve as rotational depth behind both Brown and Addai.

Fri Dec 2 201116:49Joseph Addai added to injury report
Joseph Addai was a late addition to the Colts' Week 13 injury report and is not listed as questionable with a hamstring ailment.
He must have aggravated the preexisting injury. This solidifies Donald Brown as a quality flex play against the Patriots, and a candidate for 20-plus touches. If Addai is inactive, Delone Carter would be Brown's primary backup.

Wed Nov 30 201117:47Joseph Addai not on Week 13 injury report
Joseph Addai is not listed on the Colts' Week 13 injury report.
Addai received only seven carries, gaining 23 yards in last week's loss to the Panthers. He should be available for Week 13, but won't be a fantasy option against the Patriots. Donald Brown projects as the Colts' lead back.

Sun Nov 27 201118:01Joseph Addai struggles in return
Joseph Addai rushed seven times for 23 yards in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.
Addai started in his first game since Week 7. But he looked slow and sluggish, getting badly outplayed by Donald Brown. When the dust settled, the Colts rightfully rode Brown as their feature back for the majority of the game. Addai can't be trusted in fantasy until he proves his hamstring is at 100 percent and Brown cools off.

Sun Nov 27 201111:49Joseph Addai listed as Colts' starter Sunday
Joseph Addai (hamstring) is active and listed as the Colts' starter for Sunday's game against the Panthers.
It's a dream matchup, but projecting snap counts in this backfield is almost impossible. Addai isn't thought to be 100 percent and we are still expecting to see plenty of Donald Brown/Delone Carter. Coach Jim Caldwell will likely end up simply riding the "hot hand," making any of the three high-risk fantasy plays. The Colts' inactives: QB Peyton Manning, TE Dallas Clark, TE Brody Eldridge, G/T Joe Reitz, DT Drake Nevis and DE Mario Addison.

Fri Nov 25 201116:36Joseph Addai won't get a full workload
The Indianapolis Star does not expect Joseph Addai (hamstring, questionable) to handle a full workload in Week 12.
"The hunch is he dresses, but I tend to doubt a full workload, if much," speculates beat reporter Phillip B. Wilson. Addai may be active for more than his "emergency back" role, but he won't be a fantasy option despite a favorable matchup. Look for Indianapolis to employ a three-back committee on Sunday. Gun to the head, we'd start Donald Brown if we had to pick one.

Fri Nov 25 201115:43Joseph Addai practices fully, 'questionable'
Joseph Addai (hamstring) practiced in full again Friday, but is listed as questionable for Week 12.
The Colts' backfield rotation will be a total crapshoot heading into Sunday's game against the Panthers. Addai has indicated that his hamstring remains balky despite a full week of practice. Donald Brown had overtaken Delone Carter for the lead back job before Indy's Week 11 bye. Ultimately, the Colts may not determine running back roles until pre-game warmups on Sunday.

Fri Nov 25 201109:37Addai still in doubt for Sunday vs. Panthers
Although he's practicing fully this week, Joseph Addai (hamstring) is still uncertain about playing against the Panthers on Sunday.
"It just feels a little sore," said Addai. "So we're going to wait and see how I feel [Friday] and then decide what we're going to do on Sunday." Although Addai is hopeful of playing, he's also leery of setting himself back by pushing to play too quickly. Donald Brown has a shot at RB2 value in an outstanding matchup if Addai sits out one more week.

Wed Nov 23 201112:54Joseph Addai is ready to practice for Colts
Joseph Addai (hamstring) will practice Wednesday.
The Colts appear confident that Addai is over the hump with his hamstring pull as they have sent RB Darren Evans back to the practice squad. If the veteran can string together three practices without a setback this week, he'd be in line to start Sunday's dream matchup with the Panthers. Youngsters Donald Brown and Delone Carter would then head back to reserve roles.

Tue Nov 22 201109:11Addai not ruled out for Week 12
Coach Jim Caldwell did not rule out Joseph Addai (hamstring) for Week 12.
The Colts are being predictably tight-lipped about their injuries as they come out of their bye. Caldwell said there is "a possibility" Addai will play against the Panthers Sunday. Prior to the bye, Donald Brown was the feature back, with Delone Carter acting as the short-yardage complement and backup.

Wed Nov 16 201108:59Joseph Addai staying in Indy during bye
Joseph Addai will stay in Indianapolis during the bye week to get treatment on his hamstring.
Addai isn't mailing in the rest of the season. While most of his teammates are getting away from the nightmare of their 0-10 campaign for a week, the veteran back appears focused on his rehab. It's impossible to predict a running back depth chart right now in Indy.

Tue Nov 15 201109:35No timetable on Addai
Joseph Addai (hamstring) offered no timetable Monday on a possible return.
Addai has barely played since sustaining his injury way back in Week 5. Even with the Colts heading into their bye, we can't be certain he'll be available in Week 12. There's also a chance the 0-10 Colts will continue to take a long look at youngsters Donald Brown and Delone Carter, thus using Addai in an emergency role.

Sun Nov 13 201111:53Colts declare Addai, Reitz, Clark inactive
Colts declared RB Joseph Addai, QB Peyton Manning, DB Terrence Johnson, DB Stevie Brown, TE Dallas Clark, OG Joe Reitz, TE Brody Eldridge inactive for Week 10 against the Jaguars.
Donald Brown will start and split carries with Delone Carter. Mike Tepper will fill-in at left guard and Jacob Tamme is in line for extended playing time while Dallas Clark recovers from a leg injury. Stevie Brown was a noted special teamer and reserve safety for the Raiders last season but has yet to get an opportunity with the Colts.

Sat Nov 12 201117:48Addai unlikely to be active
Joseph Addai (hamstring) is unlikely to be active as the Colts' emergency back against the Jaguars after Darren Evans was promoted from the practice squad.
If you were planning to throw an Addai hail mary in a deeper league, it's time to look elsewhere, though official word on his status won't come until Sunday morning. Evans should only be a factor in the running game if Donald Brown or Delone Carter goes down with injury.

Fri Nov 11 201117:04Addai misses practice, questionable
Joseph Addai (hamstring, knee) missed his third straight day of Colts practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 10.
He'll be the Colts' emergency back for a third consecutive week, playing snaps only if Delone Carter or Donald Brown goes down in-game. Addai obviously isn't a Week 10 fantasy option, and Carter and Brown are pretty poor ones, too.

Thu Nov 10 201116:37Joseph Addai held out again on Thursday
Joseph Addai (hamstring, knee) was held out of practice again on Thursday.
"He's not, at this point in time, improving quite as rapidly as we'd like to see," conceded coach Jim Caldwell, "but he's still working at it." Addai is expected to be active in the "emergency" role again this week, with Delone Carter and Donald Brown splitting carries against a top-ten Jaguars defense.

Thu Nov 10 201113:13Addai expected to be emergency back again
Beat writer Phillip Wilson expects Joseph Addai (hamstring, knee) to be the "emergency" back again in Week 10.
Coach Jim Caldwell said Addai is still limited, "not quite 100 percent," with the hamstring injury. He's heading toward the same route as the past two weeks, suiting up but not playing. Delone Carter and Donald Brown will likely split touches against the Jaguars.

Wed Nov 9 201116:54Joseph Addai doesn't practice Wednesday
Joseph Addai (knee) did not participate in Colts practice Wednesday.
A bad sign for Addai's Week 10 status after he failed to receive a carry as Indy's emergency back in Week 9. If Addai does manage to get on the field Sunday, he'd be a poor flex play against Jacksonville's stout run defense.

Sun Nov 6 201111:47Addai active, but Carter will start vs. ATL
Joseph Addai (knee) is active for Week 9, but Delone Carter will start against the Falcons.
It's not clear if Addai is only in the "emergency" role. Carter has finally started to make defenders miss the past two weeks. The Colts owe it to themselves to see what he can do with 15+ carries regardless, though he's still just a flex play this week. Colts inactives: WR Blair White, QB Peyton Mannig, CB Terrence Johnson, CB Prince Miller, OG Seth Olsen, OG Joe Reitz and DT Drake Nevis.

Fri Nov 4 201120:16Addai was rested on Friday?
Phil B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star's "hunch" is that the Colts gave Joseph Addai (questionable, knee) Friday's practice off to give him a rest.
The NFL's official injury report lists Addai with a knee injury, but Wilson still considers his hamstring to be the issue. Either way, it sounds like the tentative expectation is Addai will be a go for Sunday's game against the Falcons. With Delone Carter and Donald Brown also in the mix, Addai would be no better than a low-end flex play versus Atlanta's top-seven run defense.
