Fri Nov 4 201118:33Addai misses Friday practice, 'questionable'
Joseph Addai (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 9 after missing Friday's practice.
Note that Addai is no longer listed on the injury report with the hamstring ailment that sidelined him for all of Week 8. The knee has been an issue in the past. Addai practiced fully on both Wednesday and Thursday, so just going off the injury report this either indicates a rest day or a setback. The Colts' injury reports have been difficult to read this season. We won't know Addai's status for sure until Sunday morning.

Wed Nov 2 201116:36Joseph Addai returns to full practice
Joseph Addai (hamstring) returned to a full practice on Wednesday.
Addai also practiced in "full" last Friday, but only served as the Colts' emergency back against the Titans with Delone Carter and Donald Brown splitting the backfield by halves. If Addai is healthy, he will likely resume his role as Indy's starting tailback, but share time with Carter and Brown.

Mon Oct 31 201110:26Joseph Addai was only insurance
Joseph Addai (hamstring) confirmed he was only going to play in Sunday's game against the Titans if Delone Carter or Donald Brown got injured.
Addai did not play a single snap and spent most of the day on a stationary bike. The fact he was active does suggest he could be available to actually play in next week's game against the Falcons. The Colts' bye isn't until Week 11.

Sun Oct 30 201116:42Addai active, but didn't play against Titans
Joseph Addai (hamstring) was active for Sunday's game against the Titans, but did not play a single snap.
It appears he was only active as an "emergency" back behind Delone Carter and Donald Brown, similar to Rashard Mendenhall earlier in the season. Addai will likely miss more practice time leading up to next week's game against the Falcons. He's a low-upside RB3 in a committee backfield going forward.

Sun Oct 30 201111:48Joseph Addai active, but Delone Carter starts
Joseph Addai is active for Week 8 against the Titans, but Delone Carter is listed as the Colts' starting tailback.
Carter is the best fantasy bet in Indianapolis' backfield this week; Addai may be available for only blitz-pickup situations and a limited number of carries. Donald Brown will likely be third string. The Colts' inactives are WR Anthony Gonzalez, QB Peyton Manning, CB Jacob Lacey, OL Ryan Diem, OT Anthony Castonzo, OG Joe Reitz, and rookie DT Drake Nevis.

Fri Oct 28 201115:17Joseph Addai practices fully, 'questionable'
Joseph Addai (hamstring) returned to a full practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 8.
This is the same routine Addai went through last week. It's surprising the Colts haven't given him at least one week off to get the hamstring right. After missing Wednesday and Thursday's practices leading up to Week 7, Addai returned fully on Friday only to aggravate the hamstring in the first quarter and miss the rest of the game. Consider him a game-time decision for Week 8. He won't be a fantasy option regardless of his availability.

Thu Oct 27 201113:44Colts awaiting word on Addai for Week 8
Coach Jim Caldwell is still awaiting word from team doctors on Joseph Addai's (hamstring) availability for Week 8.
"He is at this point really coming along," said Caldwell, "but doctors will give us the clear go-ahead here shortly at some point in time." Expect Addai to be held out again on Thursday. Beat writer Phillip Wilson believes Delone Carter has earned more carries regardless of Addai's status for Sunday's game.

Wed Oct 26 201118:03Addai (hamstring) misses practice Wednesday
Joseph Addai (hamstring) was held out of Colts practice Wednesday.
A bad sign after Addai aggravated his hamstring injury in Sunday's blowout loss to the Saints. Unless he's able to turn in a full practice by Friday, the odds are high he'll be unavailable against the Titans' bottom-10 run defense this weekend, again leaving the Colts with a backfield of Donald Brown and Delone Carter. If you're an owner, you need to be making other plans for Week 8.

Wed Oct 26 201108:33No update on Addai's hamstring
The Colts have not updated the status of Joseph Addai's hamstring.
All we have to go on for now is speculation. Addai was forced out of Sunday night's blowout loss early due to an aggravation and the Colts re-signed Darren Evans to their practice squad Tuesday. With the team at 0-7, it wouldn't make much sense for Addai to play at less than 100 percent. The Colts' bye isn't until Week 11.

Sun Oct 23 201121:30Addai leaves game after aggravating hamstring
Joseph Addai left Sunday's game in the first quarter after aggravating his hamstring and did not return.
He told Michele Tafoya that he probably would have been fully ready by Tuesday, but that he wasn't 100 percent tonight. With the score 28-0 in favor of the Saints in the second quarter, there was little incentive for him to return. It's also possible that the aggravation was minor and a reflection of the game getting out of hand.

Sun Oct 23 201119:10Joseph Addai (hamstring) active for SNF
Joseph Addai (hamstring) is active for Sunday night's game against the Saints.
The Saints are ranked 30th in yards-per-carry allowed (5.12), but starting Addai is an extremely risky and inadvisable move. Aside from returning after missing just one game on what was believed to be a multi-week injury, the Colts could choose to employ a committee and Addai also has the risk of an in-game aggravation. It's too much risk and not enough return.

Fri Oct 21 201120:18Colts RB Addai now considered likely to play
The Indianapolis Star considers Joseph Addai (questionable, hamstring) likely to play on Sunday Night Football against the Saints.
Every week, Indy Star beat reporter Phil B. Wilson provides a rundown of the Colts' numerous players listed on the injury report, and gives his take on whether each will play in the game. Here's what Wilson wrote about Addai: "That Joe was able to (practice) full Friday suggests he will give it a go Sunday night. Expected to play." Donald Brown and Delone Carter now need to be removed from all fantasy lineups. Addai would be an incredibly risky option as well, and ultimately a thoroughly unadvised one.

Fri Oct 21 201118:05Addai practices fully, listed as questionable
Joseph Addai (hamstring) returned to a full practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Saints.
The Colts don't speak openly about injury situations, so we're left to guess about Addai's chances of playing on Sunday Night Football. The full practice certainly suggests he's got a shot. It was previously assumed Addai wouldn't be active for the game. Due to the late start, Delone Carter and Donald Brown now become much very risky bye-week fallback options. Addai also won't be start-able, even if he's active. His injury was supposed to be a multi-week deal, so there's little telling how effective he'd be in the game.

Fri Oct 21 201116:12Report: Addai practices, listed questionable

Thu Oct 20 201117:01J. Addai fails to practice again on Thursday
Joseph Addai (hamstring) was held out of practice again on Thursday.
Coach Jim Caldwell has been encouraged by Addai's progress this week, but it looks like he's going to miss one more week. Donald Brown and Delone Carter will likely split touches against a Saints defense allowing just the 26th-most points to opposing fantasy backs.

Wed Oct 19 201112:53Joseph Addai not ready to return to practice
Joseph Addai (hamstring) will not participate in Colts practice Wednesday.
Addai's hamstring strain isn't severe, but there's little incentive for the 0-6 Colts to get him on the field before he's truly 100 percent. "He's getting better," said coach Jim Caldwell. Look for Delone Carter and Donald Brown to rotate once again this week, with Brown's role perhaps growing even more. The former first-round pick has outplayed Carter for two straight weeks.

Sat Oct 15 201113:25Colts rule out Addai, LT Castonzo, DT Nevis
Joseph Addai (hamstring), LT Anthony Castonzo (ankle), and DT Drake Nevis (back) all did not make the Colts' team flight to Cincinnati and have been ruled out for Week 6 against the Bengals.
All had previously been listed as questionable on the injury report, but were never realistic candidates to play. Nevis looked like the Colts' best defensive tackle early in the year, but can't get over a lingering back injury. Delone Carter and Donald Brown will handle running back duties against the Bengals' tough front seven. Jeff Linkenbach, a natural guard, will continue to start for Castonzo on Curtis Painter's blind side.

Fri Oct 14 201110:06Addai: Hamstring injury just a little strain
Although he expects to sit out this week, Joseph Addai calls his hamstring injury "just a little strain."
"That's the good part about it, it's not a bad thing that would keep me out for a long time," Addai said. "But with hamstrings, I don't really know how long that will take before I get back on the field. ... This time I'm trying to be smart about it, and make sure that I'm 100 percent before I actually come back."

Thu Oct 13 201116:57Addai misses second straight practice
Joseph Addai (hamstring) was again absent from Colts practice Thursday.
Addai admitted earlier on Thursday that he's a "long shot" for Sunday against the Bengals, and unless he surprisingly turns in a full practice Friday, he will be inactive for Week 6. Delone Carter and Donald Brown will likely split carries in his absence, limiting the upside for both.

Thu Oct 13 201113:48Addai concedes he's a 'long shot' to play
Joseph Addai (hamstring) concedes that he's a "long shot" to play Sunday against the Bengals.
Coach Jim Caldwell refuses to rule Addai out, but the writing is on the wall. Neither Delone Carter nor Donald Brown is a viable fantasy option while splitting touches against a stout Bengals defense. The Colts have a bye in Week 7, so Addai should be good to go by Week 8.
