Thu Mar 3 201111:06Colts tender Addai and Bullitt
The Colts have tendered Joseph Addai and Melvin Bullitt as restricted free agents.
The tenders are unlikely to hold in either case. Bullitt is a four-year vet, and Addai has five accrued seasons after being the 30th overall pick in the 2006 draft. These players will be unrestricted free agents after the CBA.

Sat Feb 19 201120:21Colts unlikely to re-sign Addai?
Adam Caplan of Fox Sports says the "chances of the Colts re-signing Joseph Addai are probably much less than 50-50."
He cites the fact that Donald Brown was a first-round pick just two years ago as his prime evidence. Although Caplan is a respected insider, he's likely under-selling Addai's chances of being back. Brown has yet to prove he can stay healthy or go for over 4.0 yards per carry, and Indy will certainly look to pair him with a veteran back next season. Why wouldn't it be the one that's already been on the roster for five years?

Wed Jan 12 201111:48Colts bringing back Addai is 'imperative'
Mike Chappell considers it "imperative" for the Colts to bring back pending free agent Joseph Addai.
Addai doesn't produce many big plays on offense, but he is a very well-rounded back that's terrific in pass protection. The Colts felt his loss when he went down for eight weeks with a neck injury. But, at 28, this will likely be Addai's last chance at a long-term deal, so he's likely to consider a multitude of options.

Sat Jan 8 201123:58Addai gets just 13 carries in Colts' loss
Joseph Addai rushed for 60 yards on 13 carries in the Colts' season-ending postseason loss to the Jets.
He split time evenly with Dominic Rhodes (14 carries), although Rhodes was oddly given short-yardage opportunities that usually go to Addai. Now heading to his age-28 season and unrestricted free agency, Addai may have played his last snap for Indianapolis. He's missed 13 games over the past three season, during that span averaging just 3.81 yards per carry. Addai is excellent in passing situations, but the Colts need someone more explosive in the backfield.
Sun Jan 2 201119:39Addai starts, shares load with Rhodes
Joseph Addai rushed 11 times for 44 yards in Sunday's win over the Titans.
Addai started for the first time since injuring his neck in Week 6. Therefore, he ends the regular season with a career-low 495 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Still, Addai is at least looking healthy and fresh as the Colts get set for the playoffs. He'll share the load with Dominic Rhodes against the Jets next week.
Mon Dec 27 201015:57Colts backfield will be 'hot hand' situation
The Indianapolis Star expects the Colts to ride the "hot hand" in their backfield going forward.
Beat writer Phil B. Wilson hints that Dominic Rhodes (5.8 yards per carry Sunday) and Joseph Addai are now the favorites for carries, with Donald Brown probably left in the background due to deficiencies in pass blocking. Mike Hart and Javarris James are still on the roster, but would need injuries to factor in. The Colts finish the regular season against the Titans.
Mon Dec 27 201011:26Addai comes out of game feeling good
Joseph Addai (neck) confirmed that he emerged from Sunday's win over the Raiders feeling healthy.
Addai saw his first action since Week 6, when he suffered nerve damage in his left shoulder. He looked strong, picking up 45 yards on 12 carries. "I actually came out better than I started the game," Addai said. He'll be part of a timeshare going forward.

Sun Dec 26 201010:29Report: Addai will get start in Week 16
Colts RB Joseph Addai will get the start in Week 16 according to NFL Network's Stacey Dales
Addai and Donald Brown figure to split carries, making both risky plays in fantasy despite the favorable matchup. We'd hesitate to play either for championship week.
Fri Dec 24 201016:43Addai practices fully, listed as questionable
Joseph Addai (questionable, neck) practice fully for a third straight day Friday.
He's expected to return at Oakland. Addai's role is unclear, however. It's hard to imagine he's in ideal playing shape after sitting out over two months, and Donald Brown is coming off the best game of his career. The Colts figure to use a rotation in the backfield, with Mike Hart possibly also involved. Despite the favorable matchup, it's a fantasy situation to avoid.
Thu Dec 23 201017:58Addai practices in full again Thursay
Joseph Addai (neck, shoulder) practicing in full again on Thursday.
Coach Jim Caldwell cautioned that he's taking Addai's status one day at a time this week. The veteran fully expects to play Sunday barring a setback.
Thu Dec 23 201013:57Addai: 'Great chance' of playing on Sunday
Joseph Addai said Thursday that he has a "great chance" of playing against the Raiders on Sunday.
Addai confirmed that he made it through Wednesday's full practice without a setback. Even better, he claims he'd be able to play if the game was on Thursday. While Addai may be eased back in, Peyton Manning will be pushing for him to be out there in crunch time as a more trusted pass blocker than Donald Brown.

Wed Dec 22 201019:07Colts RB Joseph Addai practicing fully again
Joseph Addai (neck, shoulder) practiced in full Wednesday for the first time since October 15.
He's been out for over two months with nerve damage in his neck/shoulder area. It's probably no coincidence that Addai has upped his practice workload on the heels of a career game by Donald Brown. Addai has been out so long that it's hard to imagine him playing a significant role Sunday at Oakland, if he's active for the game at all. The possibility of Addai suiting up, however, adversely affects the Week 16 fantasy outlook for Brown.

Sun Dec 19 201011:49Addai, Hart out for Colts in Week 15
Colts declared RB Joseph Addai, RB Mike Hart, CB Kelvin Hayden, LB Clint Session, DL Jacques McClendon, OG Jaimie Thomas, DE Jerry Hughes, and OG Jamey Richard inactive for Week 15 against the Jaguars.
Donald Brown and Javarris James will carry the load at running back. The Colts figure to go pass heavy, leaving neither back as a legit RB2 option. Both starting corners remain out, though the Jags are expected to continue a ground 'n' pound attack at Indy.
Fri Dec 17 201015:28Joseph Addai unlikely to play
Phil B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star confirms that Joseph Addai (neck, questionable) is unlikely to play in Week 15.
Addai practiced on a "limited" basis each day this week, but he's been doing so for over a month and hasn't played. The Colts will again turn to the Donald Brown-Javarris James duo for Sunday's division game against the Jags.

Thu Dec 16 201016:19Joseph Addai limited again on Thursday
Joseph Addai (neck) was limited again in Thursday's practice.
Addai has been limited for weeks now, but we've yet to hear that he's gained clearance for contact drills. Until we hear that he's allowed to take a hit, we're not going to expect him to play.

Wed Dec 15 201016:31Addai limited on Wednesday
Joseph Addai (neck) was limited in Colts practice Wednesday.
Addai has been going through "limited" practices for the last month, but hasn't played. It's hard to imagine him starting Sunday's game against the Jags.
Tue Dec 14 201009:52Addai practices Monday
Joseph Addai (neck) participated in Monday's light workout.
It's not really news, as Addai has been able to practice on a limited basis for a few weeks now. His status for Week 15 remains completely up in the air.

Wed Dec 8 201016:16Joseph Addai ruled out
Joseph Addai (neck) has been ruled out for Week 14.
He remains week to week with no known timetable to return.
Wed Dec 8 201010:03Addai likely out this week, possibly longer
The Indianapolis Star's Phil Richards thinks the signing of Dominic Rhodes means Joseph Addai (neck) will sit out this week and possibly longer.
Addai has been all but ruled out for Thursday, with his return nowhere in sight. He was limited in practice Tuesday and hasn't been able to practice fully since the injury occurred in Week Week 6. It's been a huge loss for the Colts, as Addai is by far the most well-rounded back on the team's roster. Donald Brown is expected to start again in Week 14, with Javarris James handling the goal-line work.

Tue Dec 7 201017:53Addai limited in Tuesday's practice
Joseph Addai (neck) was limited in Tuesday's practice.
Phillip B. Wilson and Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star both expect Addai to sit out again this week. Team president Bill Polian sounded less than confident when discussing Addai's prospects for Thursday's game.
