Sat Jan 21 2012 | 01:04 | Jerebko serviceable off the bench vs. MEM |
Jonas Jerebko scored nine points on 4-of-5 shooting with seven rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 31 minutes off the bench on Friday. |
We'd prefer it if Jerebko was starting, obviously, but Ben Wallace shouldn't be too much of a deterrent to his fantasy value. The larger question is whether or not Jerebko can continue to provide low-end value, and right now the jury is still out on that. |

Wed Jan 18 2012 | 00:35 | Jonas Jerebko plays 29 minutes off bench |
Jonas Jerebko came off the bench on Tuesday and had seven points, six rebounds, a steal and block on 2-of-8 shooting in 29 minutes. |
Ben Wallace started, but was dominated by Samuel Dalembert early, and finished without a point in 19 minutes. Maybe Wallace will continue to start, but Jerebko's minutes were solid and Wallace is clearly on his last legs. If you own Jerebko, the demotion is a buzzkill, but he might be able to survive it. Let's see what happens over the next couple games before calling JJ dead weight. |

Tue Jan 17 2012 | 18:42 | Jonas Jerebko to come off bench Tuesday |
Jonas Jerebko will come off the bench in Tuesday's game against the Magic. |
Ben Wallace start as the Pistons wisely try to keep Greg Monroe off Dwight Howard. We wouldn't expect this to be a permanent lineup change and Wallace figures to get in foul trouble quickly. Jerebko should still push for 22-26 minutes. |

Sun Jan 15 2012 | 20:45 | Jonas Jerebko's yo-yo act continues |
Jonas Jerebko had six points and seven rebounds in 25 minutes on Sunday, as the Pistons fell to 3-10 with a loss to Golden State. |
Jerebko's value yo-yos depending largely on matchups, and tonight he couldn't keep up with red-hot David Lee. He fares better against bigger, slower PFs, something to keep in mind if he's on your fantasy roster. |

Fri Jan 13 2012 | 22:58 | Jerebko bounces back with career-high 22 pts |
Jonas Jerebko bounced back with a career-high tying 22 points on Friday against the Bobcats, hitting 9-of-12 shots from the field (including two threes) with nine rebounds, one assist, two steals, and two blocks in 38 minutes. |
The AP post-game says he was in foul trouble the last few games, which simply isn't true, as Jerebko has been losing playing time to Jason Maxiell. Max was a DNP-CD tonight and not a threat to Jerebko's value long-term. We're guessing Lawrence Frank had an issue with J.J.'s defense and it was resolved. Regardless, he should be owned in most 12-team leagues following tonight. |

Fri Jan 13 2012 | 01:23 | Jerebko giving way to Jason Maxiell |
Jonas Jerebko played just 23 minutes on Thursday against the Bucks, scoring four points on 2-of-4 shooting with two rebounds and no other stats. |
It's official, Jason Maxiell is cutting into Jerebko's minutes. This is due to some sort of defensive deficiency for sure, as Lawrence Frank is a noted defensive stickler. Go ahead and drop Jerebko for a hot free agent, and if he picks it up be ready to move. When he's on he has a nice fantasy game. |

Tue Jan 10 2012 | 02:16 | Jerebko loses minutes to Jason Maxiell |
Jonas Jerebko hit just 2-of-8 shots from the field for four points with one rebound and one block in 24 minutes on Monday against the Bulls. |
Jerebko dealt with some foul trouble early, but Jason Maxiell played 24 minutes tonight at J.J.'s expense. Ironically, Max hit just 1-of-12 shots for four points with five boards and a block himself, but Lawrence Frank liked what he brought to the table tonight. We doubt this is a trend, but Jerebko will find his way to the waiver wire tonight, regardless. Give him a look if he's available in your 12-team league. |

Fri Jan 6 2012 | 23:56 | Jerebko cruising along with low-end value |
Jonas Jerebko scored seven points on 3-of-9 shooting (no threes) with nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 32 minutes on Friday. |
He's starting and that doesn't figure to change anytime soon, and providing low-end numbers while doing it. He has not had any impact lines recently, though, but we'd advise owners to hold in many cases in 12-team formats. |

Sat Dec 31 2011 | 20:59 | Jerebko double-doubles in another start |
Jonas Jerebko hit 8-of-14 shots for 20 points, 12 rebounds and three 3-pointers in Saturday's win over the Pacers. |
Charlie Villanueva was supposed to return from suspension tonight, but could possibly be injured and didn't play. Meanwhile, Jerebko had one of the best games of his life, possibly solidifying his hold on the starting PF job going forward. If you own him, just hang on and see what Villanueva's return does to Jerebko. And if you don't own him, consider grabbing him if you need a power foward. He's played very well all season. |

Sat Dec 31 2011 | 01:46 | Jerebko scores 10 points vs. Celtics |
Jonas Jerebko scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting with five rebounds and no other statistics in another start at power forward on Friday. |
It's unclear who will start when Charlie Villanueva (suspension) returns, and even without Villanueva around Jerebko is a low-end asset. If you've added Jerebko already you may want to roll with things to see where they go, but adding him before Villanueva returns seems counterproductive. |

Mon Dec 26 2011 | 21:46 | Jonas Jerebko plays well in place of CV |
Jonas Jerebko got the start in place of Charlie Villanueva (suspended) on Monday and had 17 points, five rebounds, a steal and a block on 7-of-11 shooting. |
He missed last season with an achilles injury but is obviously back. And if he plays like this in his next two games, he could stick in the starting five even when CV returns to action. Jerebko's worth a pick up in many leagues, but keep in mind there are no guarantees he'll keep his current role when Villanueva returns for Game 4. |

Mon Dec 26 2011 | 13:04 | Jerebko earns starting PF job for Detroit |
Jonas Jerebko will start at PF for the Pistons on Monday. |
Jerebko started 73 games during the 2009-10 season, averaging 9.6 points, 0.5 threes, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.4 blocks in 29 minutes per game. He's a low-end fantasy forward even if he does stay healthy (having returned from a ruptured Achilles). Ben Wallace will provide frontcourt support off the bench. |

Fri Dec 16 2011 | 22:48 | Jerebko scores four off Pistons bench |
Jonas Jerebko returned from a ruptured achilles on Friday and hit 1-of-6 shots for four points. |
He also had two boards and two assists before fouling out in just 17 minutes, but the good news is that he's back. He's a fantasy sleeper, but should only be targeted late in deeper leagues until we see if he can stay healthy, as well as what his role will be. |

Fri Dec 9 2011 | 18:44 | Pistons re-sign Jonas Jerebko |
The Pistons have re-signed F Jonas Jerebko. |
The deal is believed to be for four years, as he's done an admirable job of fighting his way back from a ruptured achilles. He could be a serious fantasy sleeper this season if he can stay healthy (and win a starting job or role as sixth man in Detroit). |

Thu Dec 8 2011 | 14:47 | Jonas Jerebko to sign four-year deal w/ DET |
The Pistons are expected to re-sign Jonas Jerebko to a four-year, $16 million contract. |
Jerebko was impressive as a rookie, starting 73 games, but went down with a serious Achilles injury last summer and lost his entire sophomore season. He figures to split minutes at PF with Charlie Villanueva and possibly Ben Wallace -- he can play SF, but that position is filled by Austin Daye and Tayshaun Prince. |

Wed Nov 30 2011 | 10:58 | Jonas Jerebko looks good after Achilles tear |
Jonas Jerebko is said to look "terrific" in workouts following his Achilles tear last season. |
Jerebko is a really intriguing target in free agency, but the Pistons will have the ability to match any offer he receives. He had a good rookie season averaging 9.3 ppg, 6.0 rebounds and a steal per game, and Jerebko could be looking at a big uptick in playing time if he re-signs in Detroit with Tayshaun Prince an unrestricted free agent. |

Wed Nov 30 2011 | 07:11 | Jonas Jerebeko wants to return to Pistons |
Restricted free agent Jonas Jerebko said that he would "love" to return to the Pistons. |
Jerebko had previously been non-committal about his return. He did also mention that it's a business, and that he and his agent will be talking to "some" teams, with the Pistons being one of them. After missing the entire 2010-11 season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, it will be interesting to see how the injury impacts his value on the open market. |

Wed Nov 2 2011 | 07:56 | Jonas Jerebko won't commit to Detroit Pistons |
Restricted free agent Jonas Jerebko wouldn't commit to returning to Detroit in an interview with HoopsHype. |
Jerebko re-itereated that he's fully healthy, but he stopped short of saying he'd like to be back with the Pistons. "The Pistons is where I started my NBA career, I love Detroit. We're gonna weigh our options and see what's up there. Detroit was my first place and I like it, so we'll see what happens." Jerebko also said that he just wants to win, which is something that the Pistons haven't done much of recently. He'll be an intriguing target for a number of teams, but his fantasy value will ultimately depend on where he lands. |

Thu Oct 13 2011 | 09:45 | Jonas Jerebko declares himself 100 percent |
Jonas Jerebko (Achilles) declared himself 100 percent healthy. |
"I'm fine, I'm 100 percent healthy." Jerebko said back in May that he expected to be at full strength by the beginning of June, so he's clarifying that the injury hasn't lingered into a long-standing issue. |

Thu Jul 7 2011 | 10:25 | Jerebko not interested in playing overseas |
Jonas Jerebko is not interested in playing overseas. |
According to agent Doug Neustadt, "Jonas views himself as an NBA player," Neustadt said. "We are not looking to go over there." Jerebko could easily sign a deal to play overseas, but it appears his focus remains on his career in the NBA. Jerebko missed the entire season with an Achilles injury in 2010-11, but added 20 pounds of muscle and should make for an interesting sleeper in fantasy drafts, whenever they may be. |
