Sun Jul 16 202312:35Fernando Tatis Jr. Feeling Better, Could Be Available Off The Bench
San Diego Padres manager Bob Melvin said that outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (ankle) is feeling better than expected on Sunday and could be available off the bench in the series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies. However, the Padres will likely err on the side of caution and keep Tatis out in rainy weather in Philadelphia. With Tatis out, Brandon Dixon is starting in right field and batting eighth against Phillies right-hander Zack Wheeler. With San Diego off on Monday, hopefully the 24-year-old Tatis will return to the lineup for the start of a series on Tuesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Tatis has been one of the team's most consistent producers all year and is hitting a strong .283/.341/.521 with an .862 OPS, 17 long balls, 47 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 53 runs scored in 307 at-bats.

Sun Jul 16 202309:18Fernando Tatis Jr. Twists Ankle On Saturday
San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (ankle) exited the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader against the Philadelphia Phillies with a twisted ankle. The 24-year-old suffered the injury near the warning track while chasing down a double during the third inning. Tatis was able to stick around for a little while longer, but was eventually pulled during the sixth frame for Brandon Dixon in right field. The superstar went 0-for-3 with one RBI before his night concluded. Tatis is deemed day-to-day, as he appears to have avoided a significant setback. Fantasy managers can exhale. With an off day on Monday, it's possible that the speedy slugger could be out of Sunday's lineup for the series finale in Philadelphia.

Sat Jul 15 202321:24Fernando Tatis Jr. Removed From Saturday's Game
San Diego Padres star outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. was pulled from Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader versus the Phillies with an apparent injury. He appeared to come up slightly gimpy after chasing a double in the third inning. The 24-year-old stayed in the game but was replaced in the sixth inning by Brandon Dixon. He went 0-for-3 with an RBI before exiting. Tatis is considered day-to-day, and the Padres should have an update after the game. Dixon should see an uptick in playing time if Tatis were to miss any time. Stay tuned for more updates.

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff for the Friars on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Luis L. Ortiz. Ha-Seong Kim, who had hit leadoff the last couple days, will drop to seventh in the batting order while starting at second base. With the flailing Padres looking to avoid a sweep on the road, they'll use the 24-year-old in the top spot in the order. Tatis has been one of the team's best hitters this season, batting .280 (70-for-250) with 15 homers, 36 RBI, 14 steals and 43 runs scored. He's also hit .302 (51-for-169) with 12 doubles, 11 homers, 23 RBI and 10 steals in 41 games out of the leadoff spot. Tatis remains a no-doubt, must-start in fantasy.

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. finished 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored, and a stolen base in Friday's lopsided 13-3 win over the Washington Nationals. The 24-year-old continues to enjoy an impressive return to play after missing some of April and all of last season with a left wrist fracture and PED suspension. Tatis is churning up a sensational June, slashing an absurd .378/.474/.744 with six bombs, 16 RBI, and eight thefts. The speedy slugger is burgeoning towards first-round fantasy value, slashing .289/.359/.556 with 15 home runs, 35 RBI, and 13 pilfers across 232 at-bats overall.

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. has hit .386 with a 1.255 OPS in 11 games so far in the month of June. "Timing is good, my rhythm is good," Tatis said after going 1-for-3 with his team-leading 13th home run of the season, a walk and two runs scored in the win over the Guardians on Tuesday night. "I just feel good all over the plate. Fastball, breaking ball. I just feel like I'm seeing everything well right now." The 24-year-old Dominican superstar is now hitting .273 (53-for-194) with 11 doubles, 33 RBI, eight stolen bases and 31 runs scored in 46 games played.

Wed Jun 14 202306:53Fernando Tatis Jr. Hits 13th HR Tuesday
San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, two runs, and a walk in a 6-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday. Tatis' solo shot came off of Cleveland rookie right-hander Tanner Bibee in the second inning. The blast had an exit velocity of 106.9 MPH and traveled 405 feet. Tatis already has 13 homers this season, despite missing the first 20 games of the year while recovering from injury. Overall, Tatis is batting .273 with 31 runs, 33 RBI, and eight steals across 194 at-bats. Despite not playing at all in the 2022 season, Tatis remains an elite fantasy hitter who has been red-hot at the plate of late, hitting .311 with five homers in his past 15 games.

Fri Jun 2 202300:59Fernando Tatis Jr. Has Big Game Thursday
San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. filled up the score sheet on Thursday, leading the Padres to a 10-1 drubbing of the Miami Marlins. Tatis went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs scored, four RBI, and a stolen base. This game likely felt good for Tatis, as he slumped in May with a .229/.286/.450 slash line, although he has managed seven homers and five steals to keep fantasy managers happy. His Statcast page is still very red, and his xWOBA (.347) is quite a bit higher than his actual WOBA (.319), so expect him to heat up soon. He should still be considered a top-five fantasy player for the rest of the season.

Wed May 31 202304:33Fernando Tatis Jr. Drives In A Run In Tuesday's Win
San Diego Padres outfielderFernando Tatis Jr.went 1-for-4 with a single, an RBI, a stolen base, and a walk in Tuesday's 9-4 win against the Miami Marlins. The 24-year-old has not collected multiple hits in his last nine games and has not hit a double in over two weeks. Tatis is still hitting for great power despite his mild struggles, as shown by his nine home runs in May. Two home runs came in Yankee Stadium, where the fans had some words for Tatis. The Padres have also moved Tatis to the number two spot in the lineup, as opposed to his regular leadoff role. The change has not led to the desired effect, but fantasy managers should be reassured. Tatis is one of the best young talents in the game, and he's bound to heat up.

Shortstop Xander Bogaerts will replace Tatis at the top of the order Wednesday. Tatis has been one of San Diego's best hitters all year to this point, as he's slashing .287/.327/.485 with five doubles, five home runs, 12 RBI, three steals and 14 runs scored in 23 games. Sun May 14 202322:07Fernando Tatis Jr. Reaches Three Times In Defeat
San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-2 with a double and two walks in a 4-0 shutout loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Tatis Jr. was one of just three Padres to collect a hit in this one as they couldn't get anything going against Tony Gonsolin and company. While most of the San Diego lineup has underperformed up until now, Tatis Jr. has been rock-solid since coming off his suspension. For the year, he's slashing .283/.327/.500 with five home runs, 11 RBI, and three stolen bases over 92 at-bats. San Diego will look to jump-start their offense on Monday when they host the lowly Kansas City Royals for a three-game set.

Thu Apr 20 202321:18Fernando Tatis Jr. Making His Season Debut On Thursday
San Diego Padres shortstop/outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. is back with the club for the first time since 2021 on Thursday after dealing with injuries and a performance-enhancing drug suspension in 2022, which ended after yesterday's contest. The phenom is leading off and playing right field for the Friars to take on Ryne Nelson and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Even after missing so much time, Tatis Jr. will try to return as the player who slashed .282/.364/.611 with 42 homers and 25 steals across 130 games in '21. Fantasy owners should be excited to profit from Tatis Jr.'s blazing speed and elite power again.

Mon Apr 17 202312:30Fernando Tatis Jr. Hits Another Homer In Minors
San Diego Padres outfielder/shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Sunday's game with Triple-A El Paso. Tatis is biding his time in the minors as he completes his suspension, and the 24-year-old looks to be in midseason form while hitting an absurd .515 with seven home runs, 15 RBI and two stolen bases in eight games for El Paso. Tatis has cleared the fences six times in the last three games, and he'll be eligible to make his 2023 debut for the Padres on April 20. Even though he missed all of 2022 due to injury and suspension, the young phenom should have been selected and stashed in all single-year fantasy formats. With Xander Bogaerts at shortstop for the Friars, Tatis is expected to see most of his time in San Diego in right field in 2023.

San Diego Padres shortstop/outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-2 with a home run, RBI, two runs scored, two walks and a strikeout for Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday night while playing right field. Tatis is biding his time in the minors until he completes the rest of his suspension. He'll be eligible to make his 2023 debut for the Padres on April 20 on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 24-year-old looks to be heating up at the dish, as he's gone 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base and four walks in two games for El Paso. The young superstar didn't play at all in 2022 due to injury and suspension, but he'll be back soon and can be a fantasy difference-maker.

Mon Mar 27 202318:51Fernando Tatis Jr. Could Serve As Leadoff Man
San Diego Padres shortstop/outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. could serve as the team's leadoff hitter after he serves the final 20 games of his suspension to begin the 2023 regular season. "Man, it just feels like there's a special kind of impact that he has leading off," manager Bob Melvin said. If Tatis were to lead off, he'd be followed in the batting order by outfielder Juan Soto, third baseman Manny Machado and shortstop Xander Bogaerts. That's a murderer's row at the top of the lineup for San Diego. Tatis looks completely healthy this spring after having wrist and shoulder surgeries last fall. He got off to a slow start at the plate this spring, but he finished by hitting a strong .300 (12-for-40) with a double, two home runs, seven RBI, 11 runs and three steals in 15 Cactus League games. Tatis is a must-stash in all leagues.

Mon Mar 13 202312:50Fernando Tatis Jr. Serving As DH Monday
San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (knee) is batting third and serving as the designated hitter in Monday's Cactus League game against the San Francisco Giants and left-hander Sean Manaea. Tatis was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a left knee bruise, but obviously it's not a very serious injury. The 24-year-old superstar will be suspended for the first 20 games of the 2023 season, but he's getting his work in at camp. Tatis has struggled with his timing so far in Cactus League games, going just 2-for-19, but that shouldn't worry fantasy managers too much. He has plenty of time to get his timing at the plate back. Barring more injuries this year, the sky is the limit for Tatis, and he'll be adding outfield eligibility as well.

Sun Mar 12 202321:10Fernando Tatis Jr. Expected To Play On Monday
San Diego Padres infielder Fernando Tatis Jr. (knee) was a late scratch from Sunday's lineup. However, manager Bob Melvin expects Tatis to return to Cactus League action on Monday. The right-hander slugger is reportedly dealing with a left knee contusion. He suffered the injury when he was hit in the knee on a pickoff throw during Saturday's game. It sounds like this is only a minor injury and Tatis is going to be fine going forward. Fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief as Tatis should return within the next few days.

Sun Mar 12 202320:48Fernando Tatis Jr. To Return Monday
San Diego Padres superstarFernando Tatis Jr.(knee) is hopeful to return to the lineup on Monday. Tatis was held out of Sunday's action against the Oakland A's after sustaining a knee injury on Saturday. Manager Bob Melvin is expecting the 24-year-old to return tomorrow. Tatis is eligible to return on April 20th but is doing everything he can to prepare for the season. He has played in seven spring training games, which is sufficient time to get his feet wet. The Dominican last played professionally over a year ago; the rust has been evident this spring. He has amassed just two hits and is riding a .105 clip. Getting him on track should be the primary task for the Padres once he is cleared to return.
