Fri Jun 1 2012 | 17:46 | Lincoln to start Tuesday vs. Reds |
Brad Lincoln will start Tuesday against the Reds. |
As expected. Lincoln will fill in for Jeff Karstens, who is currently working his way back from right shoulder inflammation. The 26-year-old right-hander has primarily pitched out of the bullpen this season, but he allowed two runs over six innings in a spot start against the Marlins on May 14. He could be a smart add in NL-only leagues now that Charlie Morton (elbow) is on the DL. |

Fri Jun 1 2012 | 15:13 | Brad Lincoln likely to fill in for Morton |
Brad Lincoln is expected to take Charlie Morton's (elbow) spot in the rotation next week. |
It will probably just be a one-start thing, as Jeff Karstens is expected to need just one more rehab outing. Lincoln pitched well in a spot start earlier this month, limiting the Marlins to two runs over six innings. |

Lincoln will take the place of the injured Jeff Karstens (shoulder) on the active roster. He'll likely pitch out of the bullpen initially and could be an option to start next Tuesday against the Rockies. He shouldn't be on your fantasy radar, though. |

Sun Sep 18 2011 | 19:55 | Lincoln rocked by Dodgers |
Brad Lincoln was rocked by the Dodgers Sunday, allowing six runs on eight hits over just 1 2/3 innings. |
Yikes. Lincoln had been pitching well since joining the rotation, as he hadn't allowed more than three earned runs in any of his starts prior to today. He wasn't very good his last time out, though, and his track record suggests a regression was coming, so an outing like this isn't totally unexpected. He'll try to bounce back against the Reds in his next start. |

Mon Sep 12 2011 | 22:46 | Brad Lincoln takes no-decision |
Brad Lincoln allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits, two walks and a home run in 5 1/3 innings on Monday, taking a no-decision in Pittsburgh's 6-5 win over the Cardinals. |
He struck out one, and served up a two-run bomb to Albert Pujols in the sixth. Now the owner of a 3.73 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 24/12 K/BB ratio through 41 innings this season, Lincoln should enter spring training with a shot at earning a spot in the Bucs' 2012 rotation. |

Lincoln scattered six hits (five of them singles) while fanning four and walking just one. He lines up for a start against the Dodgers next week. |

Mon Aug 22 2011 | 23:54 | Lincoln allows only two runs in six innings |
Brad Lincoln allowed only two runs in six innings Monday in a no-decision victory against the Brewers. |
He gave up just three hits and a walk, striking out one. Lincoln has a mediocre 4.58 ERA on the season but a solid 1.19 WHIP through 17 2/3 innings. We think that Ross Ohlendorf will be the one to remain in Paul Maholm's rotation spot until the lefty is healthy, though it's possible that could change based on tonight's performance. |

Sun May 22 2011 | 14:22 | Call-up for Brad Lincoln not imminent |
Pirates GM Neal Huntington indicated that a call-up for Brad Lincoln is not imminent. |
Huntington said he's pleased with the way Lincoln is throwing the ball, but that "we just don't have a spot [in the rotation] right now." Jeff Karstens is currently faring pretty well at the moment, but we don't expect that to last. We would bet on Lincoln, who has allowed just five runs over his last 25 innings at Triple-A, joining the rotation sometime before the All-Star break. |

Lincoln got off to a late start while dealing with an arm bruise that was a result of getting hit by a pitch in a spring training start, but he's been on fire of late. He could be given consideration for the Pirates rotation soon, as Jeff Karstens is better suited for a long relief role. |
