Sun Dec 5 201023:26Yi Jianlian solid on Sunday
Yi Jianlian had one of his best games of the season on Sunday, notching 13 points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench.
Yi still settles for too many jumpshots (he shot 6-of-14), and his bench role further limits his fantasy potential.
Fri Dec 3 201023:33Yi scoreless in return for Wizards
Yi Jianlian returned from a knee injury and failed to score in 11 minutes on Friday.
Yi won't have value as long as Andray Blatche is healthy.
Fri Dec 3 201012:46Yi Jianlian will be active for Friday's game
Yi Jianlian (knee) will be available to play for the Wizards vs. Portland on Friday.
How much he'll play, and how effective he'll be, are entirely different questions. His stats so far this season don't bode well (7.6 points, 3.1 rebounds) and it's safe to leave him on the waiver wire.

Yi Jianlian (knee) is expected to practice on Wednesday.
Yi has been out since Nov. 13 with a bone bruise and hyperextension. He'll need to get a few practices under his belt before returning to game action. Once at full strength, we'd expect about 19-23 minutes a night off the bench for Yi.

Yi Jianlian is still not ready to return from a hyperextended right knee and will miss his sixth straight game at Atlanta on Thursday.

Yi Jianlian (knee) does not appear close to returning to action.
Earlier this week, coach Flip Saunders said it could be "awhile" before we see Yi on the court again. With Al Thornton also out, Nick Young is going to keep getting big minutes and shots off the Wizards' bench.

Fri Nov 19 201011:34Yi Jianlian out again on Friday
Wizards forward Yi Jianlian (knee) won't play vs. Memphis on Friday.
Yi remains day-to-day but fantasy owners should ignore him -- even healthy, he wasn't offering reliable value.

Mon Nov 15 201014:06Yi day-to-day w/ ailing knee
Wizards PF Yi Jianlian is day-to-day with a bruised and hyperextended right knee.
Yi posted 10 blocks in a two-game span last week, but that seems to have been an abnormality. On the season he has six assists vs. 12 turnovers. He also has almost as many personal fouls (16) as free throw attempts (20). Throw in his cumulative 1-of-5 shooting from downtown and he's not looking pretty.
Sun Nov 14 201013:35Yi's knee injury not believed to be serious
The right knee injury that knocked Yi Jianlian out of Saturday's game is not believed to be serious.
Yi thought the injury might be a big one, but learned after the game is was a bone bruise and hyperextension. "It hurt right away, took a few minutes, cool down a little bit, felt a little bit better," said Yi. "Ligament, MCL is fine." The good news is that he should be fine, but his status for Tuesday's game against the Raptors is in some doubt.

Sat Nov 13 201021:49Yi leaves game with knee injury
Yi Jianlian left Saturday's game during the third quarter after Wizards PG John Wall fell into his right knee, and is questionable to return.
After a summer's worth of positive reports he has averaged just 23 minutes per game with eight points, three rebounds, and a surprising 1.7 blocks. Regardless, this injury does not look good and we'll bring you the details as soon as they emerge.

Sun Oct 10 201012:44Yi Jianlian pleasantly surprising Wizards
Wizards coach Flip Saunders said that Yi Jianlian is "better than what I thought he would be."
Yi has worked to diversify his game, rather than settling for jumpshots (though he shot 37% from downtown last year). He will become a restricted FA next summer has looked great during preseason, but unless Andray Blatche gets injured it's hard to see him routinely playing 32+ minutes.

Thu Oct 7 201022:08Yi looking good for Wizards
Yi Jianlian came off the bench Wednesday for 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and 3-pointer on 7-of-11 shooting.
Yi has looked great off the bench for the Wizards thus far, but this is still the preseason. Consider him a deep sleeper, but as long as Andray Blatche is healthy, we're guessing Yi will be inconsistent. But there's no denying his year is off to a very hot start.
Tue Oct 5 201010:13Yi says his heel feels good
Yi Jianlian says the sore Achilles' tendon that bothered him during the World Championships isn't giving him any problems now.
Achilles injuries can often linger, so it's something to monitor. Yi's role on the Wizards is also something to keep an eye on. We're tentatively expecting him to come off the bench behind Al Thornton, but he's just as talented as the former Clipper. Yi could easily make it an even timeshare by the time Opening Night rolls around.

Tue Sep 14 201009:37Yi had big World Championships
Yi Jianlian averaged 20.2 points and 10.6 rebounds for China at the World Championships.
The Chinese team was without Yao Ming, so Yi was their go-to guy. He showed it's a role he can handle at the international level. However, it remains to be seen if he can get off his own shot as easily against NBA defense. His position battle with Al Thornton and Andray Blatche for two forward spots is one to watch at training camp.

Tue Sep 7 201014:54Yi double-doubles in China loss at Worlds
Yi Jianlian (Achilles) played 35 minutes for China on Tuesday, notching 11 points, 12 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Unfortunately, Yi's spirited effort couldn't prevent his team from being knocked out of the tournament. He has weeks to rest and should be healthy for the start of training camp.
Mon Sep 6 201016:51Yi (Achilles) a game-time decision Tuesday
Yi Jianlian's Achilles' tendon was feeling better on Monday, but he's still listed as a game-time decision for Tuesday's knockout game against Lituania.
Yi has been one of the best players in Turkey for the World Championships and China is hoping he'll be available. Meanwhile, the good news for the Wizards is that the injury doesn't seem serious enough to stop him from being 100 percent by the start of the NBA season.
