Thu Feb 9 202322:55Kyle Tucker Loses Arbitration Case
Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker lost his salary arbitration case against the team on Thursday and will make $5 million in 2023 instead of the $7.5 million he requested. The $2.5 million gap between Tucker and the Astros was matched by Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette's for the largest among 33 players who exchanged proposed salaries with their teams last month. The 26-year-old Tucker hit .257 with 30 home runs, a career-best 107 RBI and 25 stolen bases while also winning a Gold Glove for his work in the outfield. Tucker has really broken out the last two seasons, as he also hit .294 with 30 long balls and 92 RBI in 2021. He should be considered a top-10 overall fantasy player heading into 2023 drafts.

Tue Feb 7 202318:30Astros, Kyle Tucker Have Discussed Extension
Houston Astros new general manager Dana Brown said the team has begun contract extension talks with outfielder Kyle Tucker and his representatives. The Astros also have a potential arbitration hearing with Tucker this month, but an extension would likely wipe out his arbitration-eligible years. The 26-year-old left-handed slugger made the All-Star team for the first time in 2022, hitting .257/.330/.478 with an .808 OPS, career-high-tying 30 home runs, career-high 107 RBI, 71 runs scored and career-high 25 stolen bases in 609 plate appearances over 150 games played. He's had exactly 30 homers in each of the last two seasons while also picking up 39 stolen bases, making him one of the better young outfielders in the game. RotoBaller currently has Tucker ranked as the No. 6 overall fantasy player.

Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker was a force in Friday's World Series Game 1 against the Philadelphia Phillies, going 3-for-5 with a pair of homers and four RBI, but his team still lost 6-5 in 10 innings. It follows a 2022 campaign in which Tucker hit .257 with 30 HRs, 107 RBI, 71 runs and 25 stolen bases. There are no signs that he'll slow down, and he should continue to be one of the best hitters in the Astros lineup.

Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker (foot) is back in right field and is hitting fifth on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Kyle Bradish. Tucker injured his foot on Wednesday and was absent from the lineup on Thursday, but he'll be back in there on Friday for his fantasy managers. He'll be looking to extend a current 15-game hitting streak against a right-hander, so Tucker should be returned to all starting lineups in single-year leagues. The 25-year-old left-handed slugger is hitting .260/.338/.477 on the season with an .815 OPS, 22 home runs, 82 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 stolen bases in 415 at-bats. Thu Aug 25 202218:00Kyle Tucker Out Thursday With Foot Injury
Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker (foot) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Minnesota Twins due to a foot injury. For now, fantasy managers should consider Tucker day-to-day until we know more. It's bad timing, as the 25-year-old lefty slugger is in the midst of a 15-game hitting streak in which he's gone 23-for-62 (.371) with three home runs, 15 RBI, 12 runs scored and three stolen bases to raise his season line to .260/.338/.477 with an .815 OPS, 22 home runs, 82 RBI, 56 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. Mauricio Dubon is starting in right field and is hitting eighth on Thursday against Twins right-hander Chris Archer. Chas McCormick is in right field and is batting sixth against Guardians right-hander Triston McKenzie. McCormick does have 11 homers in 272 plate appearances this year, but he's a mediocre DFS option with a .234 average on the year and only 29 RBI.

Wed Jul 27 202208:28Kyle Tucker Homers, Walks Twice On Tuesday
Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker had a solid day at the plate in the team's 5-3 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Tuesday. He went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in the game. Tucker now has 19 home runs, 64 RBI and 42 runs on the year to go along with 16 stolen bases and a .251/.341/.471 slash line. He's maintaining a career-best 49.2% fly ball rate, but he's unfortunately paired that with career-lows in both hard-hit rate (38.3%) and average exit velocity (89.5 mph). If he can keep his fly ball rate intact while tapping into last year's hard contact metrics (47.5% hard-hit rate, 91.4 mph average exit velocity), he could be in for a strong finish to the 2022 season.

He now has 15 homers and 14 steals on the year, putting him on pace for a 30-30 season. While it's expected that Tucker will fall short of this benchmark in the speed category, it shows just how rare and valuable a talent Tucker is for fantasy managers. He has an .842 OPS with 32 runs scored and 51 RBI, all of which could be even better if not for considerable early-season bad luck.

Wed Jun 1 202214:10Kyle Tucker Returns To Lineup In Two-Hole
Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker (foot) is back in right field and is hitting second on Wednesday against Oakland Athletics left-hander Cole Irvin. Tucker hadn't played since leaving Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners with a foot injury that didn't have any structural damage. Overall, Tucker has hit just .239 (37-for-155), but he does have eight home runs, 29 RBI, 17 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 179 plate appearances, and he remains an intriguing fantasy asset because of his power/speed profile. He's hit just .192 (9-for-47) with one of his eight home runs against left-handed pitchers, though, so those in DFS may want to stay away from Tucker in his return to the lineup.
