Fri Mar 15 2013 | 16:19 | John Lannan goes five scoreless |
John Lannan blanked the Rays for five innings Friday to lower his spring ERA to 3.21. |
Lannan for $2.5 million should prove to be a nice little bargain for the Phillies. Not that he's likely to be more than a generic fourth- or fifth-starter type, but pitchers as reliable as he is still tend to go for quite a bit more. |

The Washington Times' Amanda Comack hears that John Lannan has drawn interest from 11 teams. |
Comack adds that all clubs are willing to give the left-hander a major league deal. Lannan spent most of 2012 in the minors, but he holds a career 4.01 ERA over parts of six seasons and wouldn't be a bad guy to fill out the end of a rotation. The Mets and Twins have previously been linked to the southpaw. |

Sun Dec 2 2012 | 18:44 | Twins to 'kick tires hard' on John Lannan |
The Twins are looking at free agent John Lannan. |

He spent the majority of 2012 with the Nationals' Triple-A affilaite, but went 4-1 with a 4.13 ERA in six starts at the major league level. The Twins are expected to focus more on free agents than trades this offseason, and have already spoken with Francisco Liriano and Brett Myers, who is looking for a starting role after pitching exclusively out of the bullpen last year. Lannan figures to be a popular name for teams looking for starting pitching depth. |

Lannan struck out two and walked one in improving to 3-0 in his three 2012 starts. Lannan's not exactly going to be Strasburg-esque don't the stretch, but should give the Nats a quality start most times out. He's a perfectly fine own for NL-only league players. He'll get the Braves at home next week. |
