Thu Jul 27 202318:17Dodgers Eyeing Nolan Arenado In Trade Talks
The Los Angeles Dodgers have reached out to the St. Louis Cardinals for trade discussions about third baseman Nolan Arenado, per Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times. While the Cardinals prepare to flip some of their expiring contracts at the deadline, it would be nothing short of shocking to see them part ways with the eight-time All-Star. Arenado is under contract until 2028 which includes a full no-trade clause. However, Castillo also hears Arenado would waive his no-trade clause to potentially join the Dodgers. It's no secret how disappointing St. Louis has been this season, but Arenado's stick has represented a bright spot with a .287 BA, 22 homers, 77 RBI, and two stolen bases through 380 at-bats. As it stands, fantasy managers might want to expect the five-time Silver Slugger to stay put with the Cards unless the trade whispers seriously start to heat up. Stay tuned.

Wed Jul 26 202315:09Nolan Arenado Resting Against Diamondbacks
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is taking the day off on Wednesday as the team takes on the Arizona Diamondbacks. Taylor Motter will get the start at the hot corner and bat seventh against Diamondbacks right-hander Zac Gallen. Arenado retreats to the bench after having his eight-game hitting streak snapped on Tuesday night after an 0-for-4 performance with two strikeouts. During his eight-game streak, Arenado went 13-for-33 (.394) with two home runs, two doubles, 13 RBI and four runs scored in 36 plate appearances. The 32-year-old could be a trade candidate for disappointing Cardinals before Aug. 1. He remains a must-start in fantasy when he's on the field, as he's slashing .287/.335/.521 with an .856 OPS, 22 homers, 77 RBI, 48 runs and two steals in 380 at-bats.

Sat Jul 22 202321:14Nolan Arenado Exits Saturday's Game
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman/designated hitter Nolan Arenado (leg) exited Saturday's meeting with the Cubs. The veteran went 1-for-3 with a run in this one. However, he fouled a ball off his lower left leg, causing it to stiffen. It's unknown if Arenado will be available for the series finale against Chicago on Sunday, although there's a good chance he won't be.

Wed Jul 12 202311:59Nolan Arenado Could Be On The Move
With the St. Louis Cardinals languishing in last place in the National League Central with the Aug. 1 trade deadline quickly approaching, All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado knows that he could be on the chopping block. "I've been traded once. I think that shocked a lot of people at that time," Arenado said. "I guess it doesn't surprise me anymore what happens in this game." The Cardinals have other players on expiring contracts that seem more likely to be moved, though, including left-hander Jordan Montgomery and right-hander Jack Flaherty. Despite the Cardinals' rough season, Arenado earned his eighth All-Star selection by hitting a strong .283 with 19 home runs and 62 RBI in the first half of the season.

Sat Jul 8 202311:10Nolan Arenado’s Two Home Runs Not Enough In Loss
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-5 with two homers and four RBI in Friday's 8-7 loss to the Chicago White Sox. The 32-year-old thumped a few two-run bombs in this one, but St. Louis lost anyway with Jordan Montgomery (hamstring) exiting early and the bullpen not up to the task. After a difficult spring, Arenado has done his part at the plate to keep the Cardinals afloat in the standings despite some uncharacteristically shaky defense. Since June 6, the 2023 All-Star is hitting .327 with a 1.079 OPS, nine goners, and 23 RBI across 98 at-bats. Arenado looks well on his way to another top-level positional fantasy finish. Hopefully fantasy managers bought low on the multi-time Silver Slugger while his stock was depressed earlier this year.

Thu Jun 29 202318:55Nolan Arenado Included In Thursday’s Lineup
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (back) is functioning as the designated hitter in Thursday's lineup against the Houston Astros after exiting Wednesday's game with lower-back stiffness. The 32-year-old admitted his back is still a "little irritated" to reporters before the game. However, it's evidently not enough to prevent Arenado from playing in this one. The perennial All-Star is batting cleanup against J.P. France in the series finale between these clubs. Fantasy managers should still monitor the situation going forward, as Arenado has experienced the back tightness since Tuesday.

Wed Jun 28 202321:51Nolan Arenado Leaves With Back Tightness
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (back) left Wednesday's game early against the Houston Astros with lower-back tightness and is day-to-day. The good news is that Arenado went 1-for-3 with his 16th home run of the season, three RBI and a run scored to help his fantasy managers before departing prematurely. He was replaced at the hot corner by Nolan Gorman, who slid over from second base. It's a good bet that Arenado won't be in the starting lineup for the series finale against Houston on Thursday, but hopefully he will be available for the start of a series against the New York Yankees on Friday. The 32-year-old remains one of the best bats in baseball and came into Wednesday's game hitting .272 (80-for-294) with 15 home runs, 51 RBI and 34 runs scored.

Wed Jun 28 202309:47Nolan Arenado Doubles, Drives In One Tuesday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run, and an RBI in a 4-2 win over the Houston Astros on Tuesday. Arenado broke a 2-2 tie with a fifth-inning double that brought Paul Goldschmidt around to score. The veteran infielder is having another solid fantasy season, hitting .272 with 15 homers, 34 runs, 51 RBI, and two steals across 294 at-bats. He's hitting .288 with four homers and 10 RBI over his past 15 contests.

Sat Jun 3 202309:44Nolan Arenado Continues Productive Rebound After Slow Start
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer on Friday, but the club was defeated by the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-5. The 32-year-old has experienced quite a bumpy ride in 2023. Arenado initially had an extended dreadful start to the year, hitting .242 (31-for-128) with two long balls for a weak .320 SLG over his first 32 games. The five-time Silver Slugger followed up with a ridiculous 14-game stretch, averaging .359 (23-for-64) with seven big flies for a .763 SLG over that time. In eight games before this Friday's bout, Arenado was hitting just .154 (4-for-26) with no homers for a .231 SLG. Fantasy managers are searching for some consistency out of the seven-time All-Star, who is now hitting .271 with 27 runs scored, 10 round-trippers, 38 RBI, and two stolen bases overall.

Thu May 25 202312:00Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado Resting
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and third baseman Nolan Arenado are both taking the day off on Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Luke Weaver. Fantasy managers will need to make sure both All-Star players are on their benches on Thursday for a matinee contest. Goldy has been his usual awesome self in 2023 with a .292 average (56-for-192) with 16 doubles, nine home runs, 25 RBI and seven stolen bases in 50 games. Arenado, meanwhile, has also been highly productive with a .264 average (52-for-197) with five doubles, a triple, nine home runs and 34 RBI in 49 games. Alec Burleson is starting at first base and hitting fifth on Thursday, while Brendan Donovan gets the nod at the hot corner and is batting third against Weaver.

Mon May 15 202301:29Nolan Arenado Extends Home Run Streak
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-5 with a homer, a steal, and four RBI in a 9-1 rout of the Boston Red Sox on Sunday Night Baseball. Arenado has now homered in three consecutive games as he appears to be heating up at the dish. He ups his season slash line to .256/.302/.406 and now has six homers, 20 runs, 26 RBI, and two steals. It appears the buy-low window for Arenado has closed, as he looks to be on his way back to his usual numbers.

Tue May 9 202318:27Nolan Arenado Returning On Tuesday
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (neck) is back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs. He sat out of Monday's series opener while dealing with neck stiffness. However, he's back on Tuesday, so it appears this is a minor issue for the All-Star slugger. He'll cover third base and bat cleanup versus right-hander Jameson Taillon on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should double check their lineups and make sure to get Arenado back in there.

Tue May 9 202301:07Nolan Arenado Dealing With Neck Stiffness
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (neck) was scratched from Monday's battle against the Chicago Cubs due to neck stiffness. However, the Cardinals are calling his removal from the starting lineup as "precautionary," so fantasy managers should consider the star third baseman day-to-day for now. The struggling Red Birds can ill-afford one of their best players to go on the injured list, so hopefully the 32-year-old All-Star will return on Tuesday. He entered the week hitting a disappointing .232 (32-for-138) with four doubles, three home runs, 18 RBI, a steal and 15 runs scored in 149 plate appearances and 34 games overall. Check back on Tuesday before returning Arenado to your starting lineups.

Sat May 6 202318:49Nolan Arenado Goes Yard; Buy-Low Window Closing
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in the fifth inning of St. Louis' loss to Detroit on Saturday. It was the 32-year-old's first big fly since April 12. The six-time Platinum Glover has been mired in a troubling slump for quite some time, limping to a .145 batting average with merely two RBI across the 16 games prior to Saturday's effort. After logging at least one hit in 14-of-16 games to commence the year, Arenado has signified a screaming fantasy buy-low candidate for a number of weeks while struggling through this lengthy skid. Fantasy managers should expect the five-time Silver Slugger to build on this performance going forward.

Thu Apr 20 202300:37Nolan Arenado Struggles At The Plate Versus Arizona
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado did not record any hits, going 0-for-4 at the plate in a 14-5 win over Arizona Wednesday. Nevertheless, he contributed to the team's success by drawing one walk, stealing one base, and scoring one run. Although he has experienced a recent slump with no hits in four out of his last five games, Arenado maintains a respectable .293 batting average this season, with two home runs, 13 batted in, and nine runs scored. The talented hitter will likely recover his form as the season advances.

Sun Apr 9 202312:50Nolan Arenado Hits 300th Career Home Run
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went 2-for-3 with his 300th career home run, three RBI, a run scored and a walk in the team's 6-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. The home run was also Arenado's first of the 2023 season. The 31-year-old is only the eighth player in major-league history with 300 home runs and 10 Gold Glove awards. It's no surprise Arenado is off to a strong start yet again this year with a .364/.389/.485 slash line, an .874 OPS, one double, one home run, eight RBI and four runs scored in his first eight games played. He's a must-start in all fantasy lineups anytime he's on the field.

Sat Apr 8 202300:54Nolan Arenado Nails Two Base Hits In Friday Defeat
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado went to 2-for-4 Friday in a 4-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The 31-year-old had two of the five Cardinals hits. He has yet to hit a home run this season. Regardless Arenado is still batting 333/.355/.367 with five RBI in seven St. Louis contests. On Saturday, Arenado and his Cardinal teammates will meet Brewers 27-year-old left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer who is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA this season.

Mon Mar 20 202309:19Nolan Arenado Expected To Be Fine After HBP
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado (hand) is expected to be fine after being hit by a pitch during Sunday's World Baseball Classic win over Cuba. According to Team USA manager Mark DeRosa, Arenado is fine, and if the score (USA was up 9-2 at the time) had been different, "he would have fought me on it" in terms of staying on the field. He underwent x-rays on Sunday, which came back negative. The 31-year-old appeared to have avoided a significant injury and was removed as a precaution. He should be available for the World Baseball Classic championship Tuesday. Arenado is hitting .571 with two home runs and three RBI over 14 at-bats this spring.

Fri Mar 17 202316:55Nolan Arenado In Midseason Form
St. Louis Cardinals third basemanNolan Arenado has looked great this spring and during the World Baseball Classic. Before heading out for the WBC, Arenado hit .571 with two home runs and three RBI for the Cards. Though he's yet to homer for Team USA, he has four RBI with a .333/.375/.533 slash line. Three of his five hits have gone for doubles. Team USA plays Team Venezuela Saturday night, so Arenado can continue his hot hitting for at least one more game in the WBC. The fifth-best third baseman on RotoBaller's rankings and 37th overall, it'll take a high-end pick to grab Arenado, but it will also be worth it. He's a solid contributor across the board but is still separated by about 15 spots compared to the top third baseman.

Tue Nov 1 202218:14Nolan Arenado Wins 10th Gold Glove
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado won his 10th career Gold Glove in 10 major-league seasons on Tuesday, which ties Ichiro Suzuki for most consecutive Gold Gloves to begin a career. Arenado trails only Brooks Robinson (16) for all-time Gold Gloves by a third baseman. The rest of the National League winners included Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto, Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker, Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers, Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson, Cubs left fielder Ian Happ, Padres center fielder Trent Grisham, Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts and Braves starting pitcher ...
