Sat Aug 28 2021 | 17:24 | Teoscar Hernandez Isn't Starting On Saturday |
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez isn't in Saturday's lineup to face the Detroit Tigers and right-handed starter Jose Urena. Hernandez has provided both the Blue Jays and fantasy managers with some quality production at the plate this season, batting .301 with a .344 on-base percentage, 22 home runs, and nine stolen bases in 448 plate appearances. Corey Dickerson is starting in right field in Hernandez's place and batting fifth. The veteran is batting .263 with a .318 on-base percentage, five home runs, and three stolen bases in 289 plate appearances this season. Fantasy managers are probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help. |

He has a career-best 24.8% strikeout rate on the year, down from 30.4% last year. He ranks in the 92nd percentile in xSLG (.531) and in the 91st percentile in xBA (.284). |

Sat Jul 31 2021 | 02:55 | Joey Votto homers for 7th straight game, 1 shy of MLB record |
NEW YORK (AP) — Joey Votto homered for the seventh straight game, one shy of a major league record, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night. Jonathan India went deep twice for the Reds, including a leadoff shot that came on Carlos Carrasco’s first pitch with the Mets. Acquired from Cleveland in January, the veteran right-hander finally made his New York debut after recovering from a hamstring injury. It was an up-and-down day for the Mets, who made a big deal to get Javier Báez from the Chicago Cubs before baseball’s trade deadline — and then revealed injured ace Jacob deGrom will be shut down for two more weeks because of inflammation in his pitching elbow, making it unlikely he’ll rejoin the NL East leaders before September. Báez was acquired from the Cubs along with right-hander Trevor Williams for outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ first-round pick in the 2020 amateur draft. Báez is expected to join the Mets on Saturday and will play shortstop... [ More] |
