Thu Dec 4 201415:04Greg Olsen: (Knee) Limited Thursday
Olsen (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Olsen's return to practice was capped at individual drills, but swelling in his knee has decreased, which leaves him in line to play Sunday at New Orleans. By week's end, his Week 14 availability could very well clear up.
Thu Dec 4 201412:39Olsen (knee) took part in practice Thursday
Olsen (knee) took part in practice Thursday, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Olsen's activity level is unclear, but his presence in practice indicates the likely minor nature of the injury, which was deemed to be swelling in the bursa sac near one of his knees. As the week draws to a close, expect further clarification regarding his availability for Sunday's game at New Orleans.
Wed Dec 3 201416:17Greg Olsen: (Knee) Misses Wednesday's Practice
Olsen missed Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury.
Coach Ron Rivera told Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer that Olsen is dealing with swelling in the bursa sac near one of his knees. Nonetheless, Rivera isn't worried about the state of Olsen's health and expects him to take the field Sunday at New Orleans. Even if precaution reigns and Olsen misses each practice this week, the tight end is poised to play in Week 14, barring a setback.

Olsen caught five passes for nine targets for a team-high 59 yards Sunday against the Vikings.
Quarterback Cam Newton was brutal Sunday, completing just 18-of-35 passes, which kept Olsen from having much of a fantasy impact. That's now six games in a row without a touchdown for Olsen, though it's not for lack of opportunities, as he's gotten 20 targets in the last two games. Additionally, he's reached the 100-yard mark twice in that span, so it hasn't been a total loss. Up next is a Week 14 matchup against a Saints defense that is allowing the 10th-most passing yards per game this season, though they held the Panthers to just 151 back in Week 9.

Olsen caught 5-of-10 targets for 61 yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Falcons.
Cam Neton struggled for most of the game, so Olsen was fortunate to finish with the numbers he did. While Olsen didn't make a major impact on the stat sheet, he nearly helped set up the game-winning field goal, taking a lateral from rookie Kelvin Benjamin, while getting out of bounds with just one second left. The subsequent long field goal was blocked, however. Olsen and the Panthers will be on bye next week, before facing the Vikings in Week 13.

Olsen caught 6-of-7 targets for 119 yards in Monday's 45-21 loss to the Eagles.
Olsen and Kelvin Benjamin once again led the way, accounting for 189 of Carolina's 306 receiving yards. Unlike his talented rookie teammate, Olsen actually contributed before the game was out of hand, catching four passes for 72 yards in the first half. The veteran tight end hasn't scored since Week 6, but he at least managed to break his ugly two-game slump. He's still one of the top options at the position, once you get past Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham and Julius Thomas, that is. Having said that, it's rather concerning that the Carolina offense has been hideously bad the last few weeks.

Olsen caught 3-of-4 targets for 30 yards in Thursday's 28-10 loss to the Saints.
Olsen is averaging just two receptions and 3.5 targets over the last two games, after averaging 5.6 and 8.4 through the first seven weeks of the season. Part of the issue is that the Panthers simply haven't been able to move the ball, failing to reach 60 offensive plays or 30 pass attempts in both of the last two games. Olsen had been thriving before the recent cold streak, and while he figures to get back on track to some extent, it's hard to ignore the reality that Carolina's offense looks terrible.

Olsen made just one catch (on three targets) for 16 yards in Sunday's home loss to the Seahawks.
Olsen enjoyed an outstanding outing last weekend, but found very little freedom to operate Sunday versus the Seahawks' dynamic defense. His 16 yards were easily a season-low and marked just the second time Olsen has failed to record 60 yards in a game this season. The veteran pass-catcher will aim to rebound this Thursday against the Saints.

Olsen (ankle) led the Panthers with eight receptions (on eight targets) for 105 receiving yards Sunday versus the Packers.
Olsen was one of few bright spots on the Panthers' offense Sunday, as the ever-reliable tight end caught all eight of his targets. Additionally, Olsen's 105 yards somewhat surprisingly set a career-high for the eight-year veteran. While rookie receiver Kelvin Benjamin embodies Carolina's most explosive pass-catcher, Olsen is easily the team's most dependable and is enjoying his best beginning to a season yet. Through seven games, Olsen boasts 41 catches (on 59 targets), 493 yards and five touchdowns.
Sun Oct 19 201411:43Olsen (ankle) active for Sunday's game against Packers
Olsen (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Packers.
The Packers haven't allowed a touchdown to an opposing tight end all season, but they did surrender 134 yards to Bears tight end Martellus Bennett, and Olsen boasts that kind of talent and productivity. He is safe to start this week.

Olsen (ankle) participated fully in practice Friday and is listed as probable for Sunday's game against Green Bay, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Olsen has logged back-to-back full practices and should be operating at full strength Sunday. He'll be a frequent target for Cam Newton, but the Packers have been fairly stingy against opposing tight ends this season, allowing just one (Martellus Bennett) to top 45 receiving yards. No tight end has caught a touchdown against Green Bay this season.
Thu Oct 16 201414:37Greg Olsen: (Ankle) Full Practice Thursday
Olsen (ankle) practiced in full Thursday.
If there was any question about the health of Olsen's health, he answered the bell by logging an unhindered practice. With an average of 1.5 red-zone targets per game to his name this season, he's a weekly threat to reach paydirt.
Wed Oct 15 201413:09Greg Olsen: (Ankle) Doesn't Practice Wednesday
Olsen (ankle) didn't participate in practice Wednesday, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Olsen tended to an ankle injury last week but still proceeded to head the Panthers' passing attack Sunday at Cincinnati, hauling in six receptions (on 11 targets) for 62 yards and one touchdown. He has now reached the end zone in four of six games, totaling five scores in all, so his practice participation will be one to keep an eye on as the week continues.

Olsen led the Panthers with 62 receiving yards and a touchdown on six catches on 11 targets during Sunday's overtime tie with the Bengals.
Olsen has enjoyed a fantastic start to this season, catching at least five passes and exceeding 60 yards in five of six games to date. Additionally, the veteran tight end now boasts five touchdowns on the season, a mark he's remarkably maintained since 2008.
Sun Oct 12 201411:33Greg Olsen: (Ankle) Will Play Sunday
Olsen (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Olsen did not practice Wednesday and Thursday, but he was back on the field Friday and should be close to his normal self Sunday despite some ankle discomfort. Cincinnati had no answer for the Patriots' tight ends last week, surrendering 11 catches for 185 yards and two scores, so look for Cam Newton to turn to Olsen often on Sunday.

Olsen (ankle) was limited in practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Cincinnati, the Panthers' official site reports.
Despite the questionable tag, coach Ron Rivera said he expects Olsen to suit up against the Bengals. Cincinnati has a middle-of-the-road pass defense (19th in yards allowed) that seems especially vulnerable against tight ends after getting shredded by Rob Gronkowski and Tim Wright last week.
Fri Oct 10 201411:02Greg Olsen: (Ankle) Takes The Field Friday
Olsen (ankle) was in uniform for Friday's practice, Jonathan Jones of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Olsen sat out the last two days, but he will take the practice field Friday as expected. Olsen's status for Week 6 is up in the air, but it should be clarified to some degree following Friday's practice.
Thu Oct 9 201413:07Greg Olsen: (Ankle) Expected To Practice Thursday
Olsen (ankle) didn't practice Thursday but is expected to do so Friday, Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Olsen's absences to start the week appear to be precautionary in nature, especially considering the report from Steve Reed of the Associated Press that the tight end looked fine during Thursday's warmups. Meanwhile, Olsen managed to haul in six passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Bears, which was accompanied by an ankle injury. Expect his status to clear up in advance of this coming Sunday's contest in Cincinnati.
Wed Oct 8 201416:13Olsen did not practice Wednesday due to ankle injury
Olsen did not practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury, the Charlotte Observer reports.
Olsen tweaked his ankle during Sunday's game, but still finished with a team-high six receptions on nine targets for 72 yards and two touchdowns. While the veteran sat out Wednesday's practice to gain some rest, Olsen is still a solid bet to suit up Sunday versus the Bengals.

Olsen made a team-high six receptions (on nine targets) for 72 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Bears.
Olsen was a huge difference-maker versus his former team Sunday, as his pair of red zone touchdowns included the game-winning score with just over two minutes to play. Besides a lackluster 30 yards last weekend, the veteran tight end has now gone for at least 69 receiving yards in every game this season. Additionally, Olsen is averaging a healthy eight targets and boasts four touchdowns to boot. Olsen is a steady presence in the Panthers' offense and will be likely be relied upon against a stingy Bengals' defense next Sunday.
