Harvin, who's coming back from a hip injury, is not expected to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions, BuffaloBills.com reports. "Percy has really been pushing to play," said coach Rex Ryan. "I'm not so sure about that. As much as I'd love to see us get some work I also want to make sure we're 100 percent against Indy."
It remains likely that Harvin will be part of the plan when the Bills take on the Colts in their regular season opener, though we'll be watching to see who gets more snaps, Harvin or Robert Woods.

Harvin (hip) ran routes at full speed during Tuesday's practice, WGR 550 reports.
The same goes for Sammy Watkins (hip), whereas Robert Woods (hip) was limited to less intense drills. None of the three seems to be in much danger of missing Week 1, but Harvin and Woods may cut into each other's potential workload. Already expected to have one of the league's most run-heavy offenses, the Bills recently named Tyrod Taylor, arguably the NFL's fastest quarterback, as their starter.

Harvin (hip) will not play in Saturday's preseason game.
The Bills are holding out Harvin along with Robert Woods, Sammy Watkins, Chris Hogan and Deonte Thompson on Saturday, leaving the already suspect quarterbacking crew with few reliable options in the passing game. Harvin continues to progress with his hip issue and it seems likely that he will be ready to go for the first game of the regular season.

Harvin (hip) took part in individual drills during Thursday's practice, ESPN.com reports.
Harvin, who began some on-field rehab work on Tuesday, thus continues to progress, though his status for Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers is unclear at this stage.

Harvin (hip) is on the field for Tuesday's practice but is not wearing any pads, Tyler Dunne of the Buffalo News reports.
Harvin's injury is not considered to be serious, but it may still hold him out of Saturday's dress rehearsal against the Steelers. He's competing against Robert Woods for the No. 2 wideout role, though it's quite possible they'll end up sharing snaps in two-wide sets.

The Bills are hopeful Harvin (hip) will be ready to play in their third preseason game, Sal Capaccio of WGR 550 reports.
Coach Rex Ryan acknowledged that Harvin has been responding slower to rehab than the club had hoped, but there's nothing to indicate that the hip injury will be something that plagues him throughout the season. With another week-plus to rest up, Harvin is expected to take the field and prepare for a Week 1 starting assignment as the Bills' slot man.

Harvin missed practice Sunday due a sore hip.
The issue appears minor, however, with the report noting that Harvin is expected to participate in Monday's practice.
Sun Aug 16 201511:01Harvin isn't participating in practice Sunday
Harvin isn't participating in practice Sunday, Mike Rodak of ESPN reports.
It's unclear exactly why Harvin is sitting out Sunday, but there's no indication of an injury at this point. Assuming the reason is nothing serious, the seven-year vet will continue to battle with Robert Woods for the starting spot alongside Sammy Watkins.

Harvin is listed as a co-starter along with Robert Woods on the Bills' initial depth chart.
The final designation probably doesn't matter as much as the Bills' quarterback situation, as Woods and Harvin both have vastly different skill sets. What is clear is that Sammy Watkins is the team's top receiver and should see the field close to 100 percent of the offensive plays. What we'll be watching closely is how the chips fall from there between Harvin, Woods, and Chris Hogan. One good thing for Harvin is he can be moved around or put in the backfield even when the Bills want to have both Watkins and Woods on the field.

Harvin spent some time at cornerback during Friday's opening training camp session, BuffaloBills.com reports.
It sounds like the team was just testing out a fantastic, veteran athlete on defense while Leodis McKelvin continues to recover from injury. In the fantasy realm, this could even be considered a negative, as the best bet for Harvin's value would be if he spent as much time as possible on offense, preferably in a main role as one of the top two wideouts.

Harvin is being groomed as more of a pure outside receiver by position coach Sanjay Lal, BuffaloBills.com reports. Said coach Rex Ryan, "He's a playmaker and I think Percy now he's just scratching the surface of what kind of outside receiver he can be. I'm excited to see how he can elevate his game at that position. He's extremely talented."
Harvin will still be used in the backfield and as a return man, but it sounds like the Bills are looking at him to regularly line up across the field from Sammy Watkins, while perhaps Robert Woods and Chris Hogan will work more on the inside. We'll see how it plays out, but this represents a change of role for the speedster, who's often been used as a gadget guy in recent seasons. We're still lukewarm at best about Harvin's fantasy potential, as the Bills have a lot of talented mouths to feed on offense, while the quarterback situation remains unsettled.

Harvin has missed the Bills' last few OTA practices for what coach Rex Ryan is calling a non-injury reason, ESPN.com reports.
Players don't have to participate in these and Harvin is certainly veteran enough that we wouldn't worry about it. That said, he's in a new offense with what will be a new quarterback for him and there will certainly be a lot of competition for the football with the nice haul of talent the Bills have in tow, so we assume it's not a positive he's missing time - time that other players are getting.
Wed Mar 18 201514:58Harvin's deal now official
Harvin's deal is now official, BuffaloBills.com reports.
We're certain his relationship with coach Rex Ryan helped speed this along, in what's believed to be a one-year deal. As for his role with the Bills, it'll be interesting to see whether the Bills use Harvin's speed in an all-purpose type role, or if he can edge out Robert Woods and earn a more traditional No. 2 receiving spot behind Sammy Watkins. One thing's for sure in that Harvin adds a much-needed speed element to a decent receiving group but one that pre-Harvin featured more hands and strength amid the group of Watkins, Woods, and Chris Hogan. If Charles Clay ends up signing with the Bills and Matt Cassel ends up beating out EJ Manuel, it's possible the team could enter the season with a new quarterback, running back, key wide receiver, tight end, and fullback.
Fri Mar 13 201515:43Percy Harvin: Agrees To Terms With Bills
Harvin agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Bills on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Harvin will play for his third team in the last two seasons, now taking his talents to Buffalo. In 13 games last season, he accumulated 51 receptions for 483 yards and one touchdown. While it was a down year for the six-year vet, the lack of a quarterback and other receivers likely played a part in his lack of production with the Jets. While the quarterback situation in Buffalo isn't much better, he will at least have other weapons around him to prevent the coverage from keying on him. He will join Sammy Watkins, Robert Woods, Chris Hogan and Marquise Goodwin in the receiving corps, and LeSean McCoy and Matt Cassel as offseason pickups for the team, the combination of which should draw some of the coverage and pressure off Harvin.

NESN.com relays via NFL Media's Ian Rapoport that there is a good chance that Harvin will land with the Patriots.
With pass-catching back Shane Vereen having signed with the Giants, the Patriots could use a versatile offensive weapon like Harvin, if the price is right.
Tue Mar 10 201510:01Percy Harvin: To Be Released
Harvin will be released by the Jets on Tuesday, Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News reports.
Not that there was ever much doubt, but Harvin's fate was seemingly sealed when the Jets agreed to acquire Brandon Marshall in a trade. While just 26 years old with obvious talent, Harvin has a reputation for being both injury-prone and difficult to deal with. Plenty of teams could benefit from having a slot receiver and return man of his caliber, but Harvin may find the incoming contract offers a bit disappointing, after he signed a massive deal with the Seahawks two years ago. He still figures to have a significant role in the offense of whichever team he ends up signing with, though it increasingly seems unlikely that he'll ever provide No. 1 wideout production.
Sun Jan 25 201517:33Percy Harvin: Case for a cut?
Rich Cimini of ESPN New York feels Harvin would be a logical cut for the Jets.
Harvin did nothing special in his eight games in New York, finishing with 29 catches for 350 yards and a touchdown (in addition to 110 rushing yards). New York owes Seattle a sixth-round pick for Harvin, but it becomes a fourth-round selection if Harvin is still on the roster come the draft.

Harvin (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Harvin was questionable coming into the game and with the Jets far removed from playoff contention, he'll sit the season-finale, with Jeremy Kerley starting in his place.
Fri Dec 26 201414:35Harvin (ankle
Harvin (ankle, ribs) returned to a limited practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, the Jets' official site reports.
Per the Star-Ledger, Harvin remains optimistic that he will be able to play Sunday, but the wideout is still viewed as a game-time decision for the contest.

Harvin (ankle, ribs) did not practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
We'll check back on Harvin on Friday, but he's iffy, at best, for Sunday's season finale against the Dolphins.
