Crabtree started and played three of the first four snaps during Sunday's preseason game against the Broncos, but he failed to catch the only pass thrown his way.
Crabtree had been dealing with a hamstring injury this week, but he resumed full practice Friday before participating in Sunday's game. After missing significant time last season with an Achilles' injury, the 49ers will make sure Crabtree is fully healthy heading into the regular season, which means he isn't likely to play a big role in either of the remaining preseason games.

Crabtree returned to practice this week and said that he has lost 15 pounds and is finally feeling 100-percent, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Crabtree missed the majority of the 2013 season with an Achilles injury and was hampered by an undisclosed injury this offseason. He is back on the practice field and claims he is 100-percent and also 15 pounds lighter than he was last season. Crabtree is in a contract year and will be looking to put up big numbers this season. Whether or not the undersized No. 1 receiver will be capable of doing that is still in question, but it appears as though health issues will not get in the way like they did last year.
Wed Aug 13 201423:06Michael Crabtree: Practices Wednesday
Crabtree (undisclosed) took part in Wednesday's practice, Steve Corkran of the Contra Costa Times reports.
Crabtree has been held out of practice since July 31 with what was believed to be a hamstring injury, but it appears he is feeling good enough to return to the field in some capacity. The 49ers will likely continue to take it easy with Crabtree, so his action could be limited over the team's remaining preseason games.

Crabtree will not play in Thursday's preseason opener and is expected to miss a week or two of training camp due to an undisclosed injury, CSN Bay Area reports.
Crabtree left Wednesday's practice early with what is believed to be a mild hamstring strain. While 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh didn't reveal what Crabtree's injury was, Harbaugh did state it was unrelated to the wideout's foot or Achilles. To err on the side of caution, Crabtree could sit out the next couple weeks to ensure he's healthy as the regular season draws closer. While he's sidelined, Steve Johnson should see more work with San Francisco's first-team offense.

ESPN's Josina Anderson relays that the minor injury that Crabtree is working through is believed to be a hamstring issue, ESPN.com reports.
On the plus side, the report suggests that Crabtree is completely past the Achilles issue that shortened his 2013 season and had looked sharp in training camp prior to his current injury. Meanwhile, with Crabtree and Brandon Lloyd sidelined, Quinton Patton and Bruce Ellington figure to benefit from added practice reps for the 49ers.

Crabtree is in line to miss a week or two of practice with an unspecified minor injury that is not related to his foot or Achilles, according to csnbayarea.com.
Though it's unclear as to what's ailing Crabtree, the timetable presented suggests that the wideout's injury isn't a major one. Along with Crabtree, who is slated to be a key cog in the 49ers' passing offense, fellow wideout Brandon Lloyd is also dealing with an issue that will keep him out a week or two, further taxing the team's depth at the position.
Thu Jul 31 201418:13Michael Crabtree: Does Not Practice Thursday
Crabtree (unspecified issue) sat out practice on Thursday, csnbayarea.com reports.
While the 49ers haven't updated Crabtree's status, the report notes that the wideout left the field early Wednesday due to an apparent lower leg issue. We'll consider him day-to-day for the time being.
Tue Jul 29 201418:01Kaep: Crabtree looks 'step or two quicker'
Colin Kaepernick believes Michael Crabtree is a "step or two quicker now" than he was last season as he recovered from his torn Achilles' tendon.
"He has a burst out of his routes," Kaepernick said. "He has burst when he catches the ball. (He) looks really good out there." We don't normally place much stock in "so-and-so looks much quicker this summer" reports, but it's actually believable in Crabtree's case, as he's now more than a year removed from the injury that cost him 11 games in 2013. Crabtree is primed for a big bounce-back campaign as he plays in a contract year.

Mon Jul 28 201416:46Report: Niners 'not close' with Crab, Iupati
CSN Bay Area reports the 49ers are not "remotely close" to new contracts with walk-year players Michael Crabtree and Mike Iupati.
That's according to "multiple sources." GM Trent Baalke insists the sides are "going to work at it," but added "at some point, you got to stop negotiating deals and let these guys concentrate on playing football." There's a chance the Niners end up letting both players walk.

Thu Jun 19 201420:26Kaep: Crabtree back to 100 percent
Colin Kaepernick believes Michael Crabtree is all the way back to 100 percent following his 2013 Achilles' injury.
"At the end of last year he still wasn't 100 percent," Kaepernick said. "He has a lot more burst to him now. Looks really good." Crabtree looked surprisingly good returning only seven months after his Achilles' tear last season, but clearly wasn't 100 percent. Now more than a year removed from going down, Crabtree should be ready to make hay in his contract year.

Mon Jun 9 201417:3349ers expected to let Crabtree hit FA in 2015
CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco believes it would be a "major surprise" if the 49ers signed Michael Crabtree to an extension before he hits free agency in 2015.
Maiocco notes the 49ers are "not in the business of overpaying," and Crabtree is known to be seeking top dollar. Maiocco previously stated it was "doubtful" Crabtree would be slapped with the franchise tag, which will be worth over $12.3 million next offseason. Still only 26, Crabtree would be a hot item on the open market. He should be primed for a career-best season in his walk year.

Wed Jun 4 201421:34Michael Crabtree to seek big-time payday
Michael Crabtree is expected to seek "(nothing) less than a big-money deal" in extension talks with the 49ers.
If the sides can't reach a compromise before next March, beat writer Matt Maiocco believes it's "doubtful" the Niners slap Crabtree with the franchise tag. The 2014 wideout tag was worth $12.3 million. It's worth remembering that Crabtree undertook a lengthy training camp holdout before signing his rookie contract. Crabtree's agent is known to drive a hard bargain. The 49ers have some tough decisions to make after locking up Colin Kaepernick.

Tue May 20 201412:17Brandon Marshall deal is Crabtree's ceiling?
CSN Bay Area considers $10 million annually to be contract-year WR Michael Crabtree's "absolute ceiling" for his next contract.
Crabtree has just one 1,000-yard season to his name through five years. He's never topped nine touchdowns and has 22 through 63 regular-season games. Some of this can be attributed to playing in a run-heavy offense. Crabtree isn't going to take the top off a defense but is a precise route runner and has sure hands. He's a No. 1 receiver, but we'd bet his next deal averages $7-8 million per year. Crabtree is set to earn $3.5 million in the final year of his deal.

Wed Feb 5 201422:2549ers interested in extending WR Crabtree
The 49ers are expected to approach Michael Crabtree about a contract extension this offseason.
Crabtree is owed $3.5 million entering the final year of his rookie contract. The 49ers had to be pleased with his 2013 recovery from Achilles' surgery, as Crabtree returned late in the season and made an impact. He's 26 years old. Re-signing Crabtree could be much cheaper now as opposed to next winter.

Sun Jan 19 201422:43Crabtree held to four catches in NFCCG loss
Michael Crabtree was held to four catches for 52 yards in San Francisco's NFC Championship Game loss to the Seahawks.
Crabtree was targeted eight times, the last of which resulted in a game-sealing pick by LB Malcolm Smith. The play was set up by suffocating single coverage from Richard Sherman, who swatted the ball away with an extremely athletic move. In general, Crabtree's return from a torn Achilles' tendon went smoothly, as he caught 34 passes for 487 yards and a touchdown in eight games. Although he never seemed to fully find his footing, Crabtree moved remarkably well for someone so recently removed from a major injury. With nine more months to move toward 100 percent, Crabtree should be all the way back to WR1 status in 2014, the final year of his rookie contract.

Wed Jan 15 201419:24Michael Crabtree practicing in full for NFCCG
Michael Crabtree is listed on the 49ers' Championship week injury report with a wrist issue, but is practicing in full.
Crabtree took a beating in the 49ers' win over the Panthers, injuring his wrist on a first-quarter hit from CB Captain Munnerlyn. The ailment appeared to be an issue, but Crabtree never checked out. He'll be ready to roll against the Seahawks.

Sun Jan 12 201416:10Crabtree held to 26 yards in Divisional Round
Michael Crabtree was held to 26 yards on three catches in the 49ers' Divisional Round win over the Panthers.
Crabtree appeared hampered by a first-quarter hit to the left wrist from Panthers slot corner Captain Munnerlyn. While Anquan Boldin racked up catches between the numbers, Carolina kept Crabtree quiet aside from a 20-yard reception on San Francisco's final first-half drive. The Niners will undoubtedly need more impact from Crabtree in the NFC Championship game against the Seahawks. In Crabtree's last three meetings with Seattle, he's been held to stat lines of 4-40, 4-65, and 4-31. He's played the Seahawks seven times in his career and has never scored a touchdown.

Sun Jan 5 201420:24Crabtree goes for 125 yards on 8 receptions
Michael Crabtree caught eight balls for 125 yards in the 49ers' Wild Card win over the Packers.
Colin Kaepernick hit Crabtree four times for 70 yards on San Francisco's first drive, capitalizing on Sam Shields' (knee) absence. Crabtree saw two first-quarter end-zone targets, but Davon House broke up both, arguably getting away with twin pass-interference penalties. Crabtree did get the better of House on a third-quarter completion for 22. Despite his spring Achilles' injury, Crabtree has looked as creative and elusive after the catch as ever. He worked the middle of the field beautifully Sunday, getting open virtually at will against Green Bay's zone looks. Reemerging as Kaepernick's go-to guy, Crabtree will be a force to be reckoned with at Carolina in Week 19.
