Mon Jul 29 2013 | 08:52 | Terrell Suggs 'down nearly 20 pounds' |
Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs is "down nearly 20 pounds" from 2012. |
There had been reports all offseason of Suggs slimming down, but never a number. LBs coach Ted Monachino believes Suggs is on a mission. "It's a different Suggs than I've seen in the last four seasons," Monachino said. "He feels fast, he feels flexible and he feels strong." Plenty of players feel fast, flexible and strong in camp, but it's a great sign after Suggs appeared sluggish coming off his Achilles' injury last season. Going on 31, Suggs is signed through 2014. |

Tue Jul 23 2013 | 22:55 | Terrell Suggs reports to camp in top shape |
Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs reported to training camp "lighter, stronger, and faster," and reportedly appears "on a mission" this season. |
Suggs lost eight games last year to a partially torn Achilles', and wasn't quite the same upon return. "This season I have come back lighter because I just want to be the best player I can be," Suggs explained. "I know critics are supposed to have their opinions, but I'm getting pumped to prove them wrong." Look for Baltimore's defense to ascend back into the top ten or five this season. |

Mon Jun 10 2013 | 10:51 | Terrell Suggs 'noticeably thinner' |
The Baltimore Sun reports Terrell Suggs is "noticeably thinner" than he was last season, where he lost the vast majority of his offseason to a torn Achilles'. |
Suggs didn't play with the same explosiveness after he returned in Week 7, and part of it may have had to do with lost conditioning time. Torn Achilles' have become far less daunting to return from in recent years, but going on 31, it's quite possible Suggs will never return to his pre-injury form. |

Mon Mar 25 2013 | 10:39 | Terrell Suggs jazzed about Dumervil signing |
Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs calls new addition Elvis Dumervil the first "dominant pass rusher" he's ever been paired with. |
"He is a phenomenal pass rusher and I have not had a chance to play alongside another dominant pass rusher," Suggs said. Whether intentional or not, it's a shot at departed OLB Paul Kruger. Even at 30 years of age, Dumervil is a clear upgrade on Suggs. After seeing what Kruger accomplished opposite Suggs last season, expectations should be high for Dumervil's 2013. |

Thu Feb 14 2013 | 16:28 | Suggs not planning to have surgery on biceps |
Terrell Suggs is not planning to have surgery on his torn right biceps. |
Suggs suffered the injury in Week 13 and missed just one game. The Ravens had been seeking a second opinion on the arm earlier this week, so they must have received good news. Suggs, 31 next season, will be counted on to return to his dominant self as a pass rusher with Paul Kruger likely leaving via free agency. |

Mon Feb 11 2013 | 14:57 | Ravens seek 2nd opinion on Terrell Suggs' arm |
The Ravens have sought a second opinion on a biceps injury suffered by OLB Terrell Suggs on December 2. |
The injury cost Suggs just one game -- and he returned to become force in the playoffs -- but offseason surgery to repair the potential tear is a "legitimate possibility." With Paul Kruger seeming likely to depart via free agency, the Ravens will be counting on Suggs as their primary pass rusher in 2013. |

Sat Feb 2 2013 | 15:48 | Suggs, Ngata potential restructure candidates |
The Baltimore Sun mentions OLB Terrell Suggs and DT Haloti Ngata as potential restructure candidates. |
Suggs carries a $13.02 million cap hit in 2013 and has two years left on his contract, while Ngata has an $11.5 million cap hit on the books for 2013 with three years left on his deal. Both players would likely get extensions if a restructuring occurred. GM Ozzie Newsome is going to have a lot on his plate after the Super Bowl. |

Sat Jan 26 2013 | 21:05 | Suggs showing signs of normal dominant self |
Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that Terrell Suggs is starting to look more like the dominating player he was prior to sustaining his Achilles injury. |
"He's getting better," Harbaugh said. "He's becoming quicker, faster, more explosive - all of those things. You can tell that it's healing. He's just playing more like a normal 100 percent Terrell Suggs would play." After missing the first seven weeks of the regular season on the PUP list and playing through a torn right biceps since early December, Suggs has been noticeably more effective in the playoffs and had seven tackles in the Ravens' AFC championship win over Patriots. Suggs isn't in any danger of missing the Super Bowl despite being listed as questionable in the injury report. |

Mon Jan 7 2013 | 10:06 | Suggs' Achilles flared up on Sunday |
Terrell Suggs' aggravated his surgically-repaired right Achilles in Sunday's victory over the Colts. |
The injury wasn't enough to take Suggs out of the game, however. "My Achilles started acting up, and it felt pretty bad, but I was like, '[Forget] that,'" Suggs said. "I wasn't going to let a repaired tendon steal our glory. ... And we had to make sure we did this for [Ray Lewis]." Suggs has taken a backseat to Paul Kruger as a pass rusher of late. |

Fri Dec 21 2012 | 15:51 | Terrell Suggs listed as probable |
Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs (biceps) is listed as probable for Week 16 against the Giants. |
Although Suggs was in and out of the lineup in last week's loss to the Broncos, he's progressed enough this week that the Ravens are confident Suggs will start against the G-Men. A healthy Suggs -- or even an 80-percent version -- would pose problems for Eli Manning and the Giants' passing game. |

Mon Dec 17 2012 | 09:40 | Terrell Suggs was not himself vs. Broncos |
Ravens OLB Terrell Suggs (biceps) left Sunday's loss to the Broncos several times. |
Credit Suggs for gutting it out through a torn biceps, but he was a shell of himself. Just about every time he tried to rip through a lineman or make a tackle, he grimaced in pain and went to the sideline for a few plays. He ended up with one tackle and one sack. |

Sun Dec 16 2012 | 07:52 | Report: Suggs to play on Sunday vs. Broncos |
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Terrell Suggs (torn biceps, questionable) will play on Sunday versus the Broncos. |
Suggs was considered a game-time decision after putting in a limited practice on Wednesday before being a full participant on Thursday and Friday. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year was close to playing in Week 14, so it's not a surprise to see him suiting up this week. With Ray Lewis (triceps) still out, Baltimore can use all the help at linebacker they can get. |

Fri Dec 14 2012 | 09:16 | Suggs to be game-time decision Sunday |
Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) expects to be a game-time decision for Sunday versus the Broncos. |
Suggs is one of several defenders likely to be game-time calls, including ILBs Ray Lewis (triceps) and Dannell Ellerbe (ankle). Coach John Harbaugh said Suggs was close to playing last week, but the wet conditions played a role in holding him out. |

Sun Dec 9 2012 | 11:17 | Suggs (biceps) out for Ravens in Week 14 |
NFL Network's Albert Breer has been told that Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) will not play today versus the Redskins. |
Suggs suffered the torn biceps in last week's loss to the Steelers, and his status was uncertain for much of the week. Courtney Upshaw, Paul Kruger, and Albert McClellan will have to take on a bigger role this week, and it doesn't bode well for Baltimore's pass rush. We'd consider Suggs questionable for Week 15 at this point. |

Sun Dec 9 2012 | 09:56 | 'No decision' made yet on Suggs' status |
NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that "no decision has been made" on Terrell Suggs' (torn biceps) status for Sunday's game versus the Redskins, but he "plans to warm up and see how it feels." |
This jives with what Jason La Canfora reported on Friday, as he suggested that Suggs will at least try to play in Washington. Baltimore desperately needs Suggs' pass rushing skills to be an effective defense. He's shaping up as a true game-time decision. |

Fri Dec 7 2012 | 15:13 | Terrell Suggs to play on Sunday? |
According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, "from everything I hear" Terrell Suggs (biceps, questionable) will at least try to play in Sunday's game against the Redskins. |
Per La Canfora, the remaining question is "how effective he can be" playing through a torn biceps muscle. The Ravens' defense has struggled mightily without Suggs in the lineup this year, particularly in terms of rushing the passer. |

Fri Dec 7 2012 | 15:00 | Terrell Suggs listed as questionable |
Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) is listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Redskins. |
We've learned not to doubt Suggs when he's determined to play, but he appears to be a long shot to play Sunday in D.C. Suggs plays the run nearly as well as he rushes the passer, so his loss would be big against the Redskins' Pistol. |

Wed Dec 5 2012 | 13:50 | Suggs: Shutting down 'not an option' |
Terrell Suggs (torn biceps) says he's a game-time decision for Sunday, and that shutting himself down for the season is "not an option." |
The Baltimore Sun considers Suggs a "long-shot" for Week 14, and so do we. Playing through a torn upper-arm muscle is tricky business, and if Suggs is going to do so, he'll likely need at least a week or two to get his bearings. He also admits making his injury worse is a possibility. "I think any time you have an injury and you play with it, you risk making it worse." Suggs is probably less than 50-50 to play again this season. |

Wed Dec 5 2012 | 12:30 | Second opinion confirms Suggs' injury |
A second opinion confirmed that DE/OLB Terrell Suggs has sustained a torn right biceps. |
Suggs still doesn't know if he can play through the injury, saying "we got to see how it goes." His effectiveness would depend on how severe the tear is. "My concern is would I help or hinder the team," he said. The Ravens are going to give Suggs plenty of time to figure things out before placing him on injured reserve. He's the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. |
