Rivers (chest/back) threw three interceptions but was able to rally the Chargers to a huge second-half comeback for a 38-35 overtime victory in San Francisco on Saturday night. He completed 33 of 54 passes for 356 yards and four touchdowns.
The Chargers found themselves down 28-7 at the break, thanks in large part to two Rivers interceptions, one of which was returned 49 yards for a touchdown. However, the quarterback was brilliant after halftime, leading San Diego to four scoring drives and converting on two crucial fourth downs to keep the Chargers' hopes alive. It was a gutty performance, but it will be nearly impossible for him to repeat these kinds of numbers next week against a Chiefs pass defense that has allowed just two quarterbacks all year to top 250 passing yards and none to eclipse 300.

Rivers (chest/back) is active for Saturday's game against San Francisco.
Rivers is playing beat up, but there was never much doubt about his availability for Saturday's game. Still, between the fairly tough matchup and his struggles of late (seven touchdowns, eight interceptions in his last six games), Rivers' fantasy prospects for Saturday aren't all that exciting.

Rivers (chest, back) is listed as probable for Saturday's game against the 49ers, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Per coach Mike McCoy, Rivers will "be ready to roll" Saturday, which should come as no great surprise, as the Chargers' QB has not missed a turn since becoming the team's starter in 2006.

Rivers (chest, back) wasn't spotted at practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
The report relays that Rivers was a spectator on Tuesday during the Chargers' individual drills, but the quarterback doesn't seem concerned about his Week 16 availability at this stage. "I feel good," said Rivers. 'I'll be ready to roll on Saturday evening."

Rivers (chest, back) completed 24-of-41 passes for 232 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions, in Sunday's 22-10 loss to the Broncos.
Rivers led the Chargers to just three points through the first 50 minutes of the game, but tossed a nice five-yard touchdown to Antonio Gates in the fourth quarter. The veteran QB had another shot for a touchdown late in the game, but threw an interception in the end zone, once again trying to hook up with Gates. While it wasn't a great game for Rivers, he was missing his top weapon in Keenan Allen, who was knocked out of the contest with an ankle injury. Rivers will have his hands full next week against a tough 49ers' pass defense, whether Allen is available or not.

Rivers (chest, back) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Rivers will predictably continue to play through his aches and pains, and if Sunday's home tilt turns into a high-scoring affair, the QB could put up some respectable Week 15 production against the Broncos.
Fri Dec 12 201419:23Rivers (chest
Rivers (chest, back) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Rivers practiced fully all week and should be good to go on Sunday, with the main thing of note here is that the QB is listed as having a back issue, in addition to the chest injury that was cited in last week's report.

Rivers completed 20-of-33 passes for 189 yards, with a touchdown and an interception, in Sunday's 23-14 loss to the Patriots. He added eight yards on three carries.
One week after pummeling the Baltimore defense, Rivers got off to a fast start against the Patriots, tossing a 15-yard touchdown pass to Malcom Floyd on the Chargers' second drive. It was all downhill from there, as Darrelle Revis completely took Keenan Allen out of the game, which made Rivers' life rather difficult. Week 15 brings another tough matchup, but Rivers did throw for three touchdowns in the first game against Denver, and he shouldn't lack for volume come Sunday.

As expected, Rivers, who is coming off a 383-yard passing effort in Week 13's win over the Ravens, is out there Sunday, and he'll go up against a Patriots' defense that is allowing an average of 251 passing yards per game thus far.

Rivers was evidently feeling some soreness upon his arrival at the Chargers' facility on Thursday, but he practiced fully that day as well as Friday, and is on track to take aim Sunday at a Patriots' defense that is allowing an average of 251 passing yards per game to date.
Thu Dec 4 201417:19Rivers added to Chargers' injury report Thursday
Rivers was added to the Chargers' injury report Thursday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The QB was listed as a full participant with a chest issue.
Per coach Mike McCoy, Rivers was sore upon his arrival at the Chargers' facility on Thursday, but the QB's full practice participation suggests that his availability for Sunday night's game against the Patriots is in no danger.

Rivers completed 34-of-45 passes for 383 yards, with three touchdowns and one interception during Sunday's 34-33 win over the Ravens. He also added four carries for a season-high 19 rushing yards.
Rivers connected with seven different receivers, throwing two touchdowns to Keenan Allen and one to Eddie Royal, the last of which put the Chargers up by one with 38 seconds left, their first lead of the game. It was an excellent breakout performance after he threw only two touchdowns in his previous three games, which getting picked off four times in that span. He'll look to keep the positive play going in Week 14 against the Patriots, who allowed Aaron Rodgers to throw for 368 yards and two touchdowns Sunday.

Rivers (chest) completed 29-of-35 passes for 291 yards, with a touchdown and interception, in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Rams.
Rivers had a tidy 8.3 YPA, but he had just one attempt over 20 yards, as a large chunk of his passing yardage came after the catch. He was actually having a rough fantasy game, until his screen pass to Keenan Allen midway through the fourth quarter resulted in a 29-yard touchdown. Allen had one of his best games of the season, catching 6-of-8 targets for 104 yards, showing great moves in the open field on several receptions. Whether Rivers' lack of deep shots is due to his nagging ribs/chest injuries, or just the team's conservative play calling, he'll need receivers like Allen to perform well after the catch. In Week 13, Rivers will have a decent shot to post strong numbers against a beatable Ravens' secondary.
Sun Nov 23 201414:41Rivers (chest) listed as active for Sunday's game against Rams
Rivers (chest) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Rams, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Rivers (chest) is probable for Sunday's game against the Rams after practicing fully all week, the Chargers' official site reports.
Though there was some talk that Rivers might be dealing with a rib issue, that's been downplayed and he's on track to continue playing through whatever aches and pains he might be working through as the season rolls along.
Wed Nov 19 201418:41Rivers (chest) practiced fully Wednesday
Rivers (chest) practiced fully Wednesday, the Chargers' official site reports.
While Rivers' inclusion on the Chargers' Week 12 injury report confirms that he is dinged up in some fashion, his full participation presumably foreshadows a probable designation in advance of Sunday's game against the Rams.
Wed Nov 19 201414:29Rivers (ribs) practiced Wednesday
Rivers (ribs) practiced Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
It remains to bee seen if the Chargers list Rivers on their Week 12 injury report, though at this stage it's expected that the QB will continue to play through whatever aches and pains he might be dealing with on Sunday against the Rams.
Sun Nov 16 201421:32Philip Rivers: (Ribs/Knee) Downplays Possible Injuries
Rivers (ribs/knee) said after Sunday's win over the Raiders that he is no more banged up than any other quarterback in the NFL, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Teammate Antonio Gates said Rivers has been dealing with a severe rib injury for the last three or four weeks, though the quarterback hasn't been listed on San Diego's injury report all season. Rivers also appeared to be a bit hobbled by a knee injury during Sunday's game, but he downplayed any concerns following the contest. While he'll likely join the injury report this upcoming week, Rivers clearly expects to play against the Rams. He has just one touchdown pass and 331 passing yards over the last two games.
