Sat May 10 201411:08Jarvis Landry drafted to replace Hartline?
The Palm Beach Post's Andrew Abramson speculates WR Jarvis Landry may have been drafted as WR Brian Hartline's eventual replacement.
The Dolphins are projected to be in cap trouble after the 2014 season and could save $3.15 million against the 2015 salary cap by parting ways with the steady but unspectacular Hartline. Mike Wallace could also be a candidate for release, but he would only save Miami $2.5 million and no one else on the roster brings Wallace's deep-threat skill set to the table. Hartline could put all of this talk to bed with a solid 2014 campaign.

Sat Apr 19 201419:26Brian Hartline (knee) ahead of schedule
Brian Hartline (knee) is expected to ready for minicamp.
Hartline suffered a torn PCL in Week 17, but managed to avoid surgery. He hasn't had any setbacks and is currently ahead of schedule in his recovery. The Dolphins can save $4 million by releasing Hartline next offseason, so he's entering a make-or-break year in 2014.

Mon Mar 24 201415:23Hartline expected to be ready for Week 1
The Miami Herald reports Brian Hartline (torn left PCL) is expected to be ready for Week 1.
Provided Hartline avoids setbacks, he should be ready for training camp. Going on his sixth year in the league, the Dolphins don't need to rush Hartline's recovery. As usual, Hartline will be a safe, but low-upside, WR3 for the 2014 season.

Mon Dec 30 201311:19Brian Hartline won't need surgery on torn PCL
Brian Hartline has been diagnosed with a torn PCL in his left knee.
It's not as bad as it sounds. Hartline won't need surgery and is fully expected to be ready for 2014 training camp after a rehab period. In fact, we'd be surprised if he wasn't ready even sooner as a PCL tear isn't nearly as severe as ACL tear. Hartline, who signed a $30.7 million contract a year ago, wrapped the season with a 76/1016/4 line. He now has a total of six touchdowns in his last 48 games.

Sun Dec 29 201313:39Brian Hartline exits Week 17 with knee injury
Brian Hartline left Sunday's Week 17 game against the Jets with a left knee injury.
Hartline was injured after a 25-yard reception in the first quarter and is listed as questionable to return. It's a huge loss for Ryan Tannehill and Miami's offense in a must-win game. Hartline managed to go over 1,000 yards receiving for the second straight season before exiting. He's very likely dealing with a serious injury. Marlon Moore has replaced him in the starting lineup.

Thu Dec 26 201319:27Brian Hartline limited in two practices
Brian Hartline (knee) was limited in Wednesday and Thursday's practices.
The Dolphins are likely just managing Hartline's reps ahead of Sunday's must-win game. He'll almost certainly suit up against the Jets. Hartline needs only 22 yards to surpass 1,000 on the year.

Sun Dec 22 201317:10Brian Hartline drops three passes in loss
Brian Hartline caught two passes for 53 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss at Buffalo.
Hartline turned in a brutal performance as he had three clear-cut drops and posted two grabs on 10 targets. His only real play was a 50-yard bomb from Matt Moore during garbage time. Hartline will take 978 receiving yards into a Week 17 game with the Jets, but he'll break the 1,000 barrier due to volume -- not strong play. He's now averaging 8.0 targets per game.

Sun Dec 15 201318:48Brian Hartline has five-catch day vs. Pats
Brian Hartline caught five passes for 70 yards in Miami's Week 15 win over the Patriots.
5-70 is as Hartline-y as it gets. The Dolphins' No. 2 receiver will be a low-end WR3 for the final week of the fantasy playoffs, where Miami will travel to Buffalo.

Sun Dec 8 201318:29Brian Hartline gets TD on toe-tapper
Brian Hartline caught five passes for 51 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 14 win at Pittsburgh.
Hartline made one of the plays of the tap, going to the sideline and stretching his body while also toe-tapping for a four-yard touchdown in the third quarter. It was his second straight game with a score after going nine games without one. Hartline will be a borderline WR3 against the Patriots in Week 14 with Aqib Talib likely to shadow Mike Wallace.

Sun Dec 1 201317:22Hartline burns Jets for 127 yards, touchdown
Brian Hartline caught nine passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 13 win over the Jets.
Hartline led the Dolphins in receiving and finished with a team-high 15 targets. He was able to take advantage when matched up with Dee Milliner in coverage, and beat Antonio Cromartie on a 31-yard slant route for a touchdown in the third quarter. It was just his second 100-yard game of the season. Hartline has 62 receptions for 804 yards and three touchdown through 12 games. His lack of big-play ability will continue to limited him as a WR4 going forward.

Sun Nov 24 201318:13Brian Hartline catches all 5 of his targets
Brian Hartline caught five passes for 78 yards in Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Panthers.
Hartline was very effective, catching all five of his targets and getting open on big third-down conversions. Of course, his inability to make big plays after the catch or be a factor in the red-zone makes him a WR4 in fantasy formats. Hartline has one 100-yard game and two touchdowns all season. Last year, he had three 100-yard games and one touchdown in 16 outings.

Sun Nov 17 201319:26Brian Hartline has rough day in MIA's win
Brian Hartline caught five passes for 65 yards in Sunday's Week 11 win over the Chargers.
Hartline had an awful day. He dropped a wide open pass over the middle early on, slipped on a route that nearly cost Ryan Tannehill an interceptions and had another drop late. Still, Tannehill kept the faith and targeted Hartline a team-high 13 times. Don't expect a better performance out of Hartline against the Panthers in Week 12 -- he's a WR4 that hasn't reached 70 yards or scored a touchdown since Week 3.

Tue Nov 12 201300:41Hartline hauls in five passes in Week 10 loss
Brian Hartline caught five passes for 57 yards in Week 10 versus Tampa Bay.
Hartline was targeted eight times on the night and worked against rookie CB Johnthan Banks for much of the evening. Hartline figured to become Ryan Tannehill's go-to receiver after Brandon Gibson (torn patellar tendon) went down, but new slot receiver Rishard Matthews was that guy Monday, seeing 14 targets. Hartline has topped 69 yards receiving just once this season and hasn't scored since Week 3. He is who we thought he was. Hartline's a WR4.

Fri Nov 1 201301:07Hartline limited to three catches, 39 yards
Brian Hartline had three catches for 39 yards in Thursday night's Week 9 win over the Bengals.
Hartline was a non-factor in the first half, but came up with a sideline catch at the end of the fourth quarter that set up the game-tying field goal. He finished behind only Mike Wallace with five targets and should continue to be featured in the short-to-intermediate passing game with Brandon Gibson out for the season. Harline has 38 catches for 477 yards and two touchdowns through nine weeks.

Sun Oct 27 201318:05Hartline goes for 37 yards in Week 8
Brian Hartline caught four passes for 37 yards in the Dolphins' Week 8 loss to New England.
Aqib Talib's absence didn't end up mattering much. Ryan Tannehill spread the ball around against New England -- completing passes to nine different receivers -- but no Fins pass catcher exceeded 41 yards. Possession receiver Hartline still hasn't hit 70 yards in any game since Week 1. He'll be a poor WR3 option when the Dolphins take on the Bengals this Thursday night.

Sun Oct 20 201317:46Brian Hartline held to 69 yards in Week 7
Brian Hartline caught six passes for 69 yards in the Dolphins' Week 7 loss to Buffalo.
Possession receiver Hartline made some critical first-down catches, but he still hasn't cleared 70 receiving yards in any game since the season opener. He's a low-ceiling WR3 option entering a Week 8 game in Foxboro.

Sun Oct 6 201317:59Brian Hartline manages 60 yards in loss
Brian Hartline had four catches for 60 yards in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Ravens.
Hartline had seven targets and was the clear No. 2 option behind Mike Wallace. He got the majority of his yardage in Miami's two-minute offense at end of the second quarter, and was limited to just two catches for nine yards for the rest of the game. Hartline should continue to be viewed as a WR4 in re-draft leagues.

Tue Oct 1 201300:50Hartline reels in three passes in MNF loss
Brian Hartline caught three passes for 34 yards in Monday night's Week 4 loss to the Saints.
Hartline was targeted just four times, which was fourth on the team behind Brandon Gibson, Mike Wallace, and Charles Clay. On the lone misfire, Ryan Tannehill was picked off by Jabari Greer on a slant route Hartline looked to somewhat give up on. Tannehill seems to favor Hartline, but it wasn't their night. After four games, Hartline is on pace to catch 84 passes for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns. The yards and catch totals are nearly identical to his 2012 numbers. Hartline scored just once last season. He's a WR4 most weeks.

Sun Sep 22 201320:24Hartline secures a touchdown in Week 3 win
Brian Hartline caught four passes for 56 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 win over the Falcons.
Hartline was targeted six times. He was wide open in the back left corner of the end zone for his 18-yard touchdown. With two scores through three games, Hartline has already surpassed his 2012 touchdown total. He's nothing more than a WR4. The Dolphins head to New Orleans next Monday night.

Sun Sep 15 201318:06Brian Hartline held to 68 yards in Week 2
Brian Hartline caught five passes for 68 yards in the Dolphins' Week 2 win over the Colts.
With the running game finally coming together and Mike Wallace back on track, Hartline took his normal backseat in the passing offense. Hartline may be a serviceable real-life NFL second receiver, but he's not a fantasy football factor. He's a low-upside WR5. The Dolphins will host the Falcons in Week 3.
