Mon Dec 10 2012 | 11:21 | Cameron Wake a monster for Dolphins |
Cameron Wake has tied his career-high with 14 sacks this season. |
The Dolphins' defense certainly hasn't quit. Wake was a monster against the 49ers Sunday, eating up Anthony Davis to the tune of three sacks, three quarterback hits and a forced fumble. Wake is a good bet to set his career-high in sacks against the Jags in Week 15. |

Fri Nov 9 2012 | 10:45 | Wake has already matched 2011 sack total |

Sun Sep 30 2012 | 22:39 | Cameron Wake sets career high with 4.5 sacks |
Dolphins LE Cameron Wake set a career high with 4.5 sacks in the team's Week 4 loss to Arizona. |
Wake destroyed rookie RT Bobby Massie time and time again, racking up half of the Dolphins' team sacks of Kevin Kolb. Wake went sack-less in the first three games, causing unnecessary worry in IDP circles that his "position switch" from 3-4 outside linebacker to 4-3 defensive end wasn't working out. This was Wake's slump-busting game, and look for him to pick up right back where he left off in Week 5 against the Bengals. |

Dolphins RE Cameron Wake drew 13 offense holding calls last season. |
Nobody else in the league drew more than seven. Despite getting held all season, Wake still picked up 8.5 sacks as one of the game's premier 3-4 outside linebackers. Now operating out of his natural end spot in the Dolphins' new 4-3, we're expecting a bump in production. |

Sun May 6 2012 | 11:24 | Dolphins extend Cameron Wake through 2016 |
The Dolphins have signed DE/OLB Cameron Wake to a four-year, $49 million extension through 2016. |
$20 million is reportedly guaranteed. Wake sat out portions of OTAs while waiting for a raise from the $615,000 base salary he was due in 2012. The versatile 30-year-old was entering the final year of the four-year, $2.4 million deal he signed in 2009 after winning the CFL defensive player of the year award the previous two seasons. Pro Football Focus graded Wake as the league's best 3-4 outside linebacker in 2011. |

Tue Apr 24 2012 | 10:46 | Cameron Wake changes tune, not attending OTAs |
RE Cameron Wake is no longer attending Dolphins' voluntary workouts. |
Wake rejoined the Dolphins' offseason program last week following a "face to face, man to man" conversation with new coach Joe Philbin, but must have gotten wind he isn't close to receiving a new deal. Wake is clearly struggling with how to handle his quest for an extension, but it's now a distinct possibility he skips Miami's mandatory June minicamp. Talks could heat up once the draft comes and goes. |

DE Cameron Wake decided to rejoin the Dolphins' offseason program following a "face to face, man to man" talk with new coach Joe Philbin. |
"Cameron felt like he had to go in to speak with Joe Philbin face to face, man to man, out of respect to him as a new coach," Wake's agent said. "They spoke, and Cameron decided to work with his teammates during this voluntary period, while I work on the business side of things with the Dolphins." The Miami Herald reports a deal is not "imminent," but it's unlikely Wake would have reported had he felt the Dolphins weren't serious about getting an extension done before the start of the regular season. |

Wed Apr 11 2012 | 09:58 | Cameron Wake undecided on sit-out length |
According to the Miami Herald, Cameron Wake has not yet to decided how long to sit out in protest over his contract. |
Wake cannot be punished for missing voluntary workouts, but he stands to lose as much as $10,000 per day during the Dolphins' mandatory three-day minicamp in May or June. Wake's approach is expected to be determined primarily by the "pace and progress of negotiations." Miami will likely have to clear cap space before granting Wake his contract wish. |

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Dolphins OLB/DE Cameron Wake has no plans to show up for offseason workouts until he receives a new contract. |
According to Pro Football Focus, Wake led all NFL linebackers with 81 combined quarterback pressures, hits, and sacks last season. Due just $650,000, Wake is wildly underpaid for his performance level entering his age-30 season. |

Wed Jan 25 2012 | 22:51 | Cameron Wake expected to move to DE |
Cameron Wake is expected to play right defensive end in the Dolphins' new 4-3 defense. |
The hole at left end will either be filled via an offseason acquisition or by Jared Odrick. The Palm Beach Post suggests Wake could benefit from the new scheme more than any Dolphin. He played weak-side end in Canada before entering the NFL, and would probably still rush with his hand up in certain packages. Wake's sacks dropped to 8.5 in 2011 after he racked up 14 in 2010. |

Thu Jun 30 2011 | 14:53 | Dolphins concerned Wake will 'plateau' |
The Dolphins front office reportedly has some concern that Pro Bowl OLB Cameron Wake "could plateau" instead of growing into one of the NFL's elite defenders. |
Leave it to this Dolphins regime to place the best player from their 2010 season on the list of concerns. Miami coaches want Wake to improve on setting the edge against the run. There's also concern that Wake's production could slip while playing through injury or increased chip blocks from backs and tight ends. The front office's time would be better spent seeking a pass-rushing complement to Wake. |

Fri Dec 17 2010 | 11:27 | Wake hopes to renegotiate contract |
NFL sack leader Cameron Wake hopes to renegotiate a new contract with the Dolphins. |
He won't have much luck because he has two years remaining on the four-year, $4.9 million deal that he signed coming out of the CFL. The Dolphins took the risk on Wake two years ago, and they're reaping the benefits of one of the NFL's best bargains. |

Wed Nov 17 2010 | 20:39 | Cameron Wake wants a new contract |
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that, entering the season, Cameron Wake planned to ask the Dolphins for a new contract if he reached 10 sacks. |
The AFC leader in sacks is 85 percent of the way there, so the Fins can expect to hear from Wake's agents. They have to be anticipating it. Wake, 28, is playing the 2010 season for $395,000 and is scheduled to receive minimum salaries in 2011 and 2012. "They're taking care of their young corps," says La Canfora. "Cameron Wake could be the next man up to get paid." |
