Wallace caught seven passes on 11 targets for 81 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Patriots.
Wallace led the team in targets, receptions and receiving yards, though when you're the highest-paid receiver on the team, that's what you're supposed to do. Running back Lamar Miller finished with four catches and no other player caught more than two passes, further showing Wallace's importance on offense. He should continue to see a high number of targets in what will likely be a tough game at Buffalo in Week 2.

Wallace did not catch any of his three targets in Saturday's preseason game against the Buccaneers.
Wallace proved his health after dealing with a hamstring injury, but his night was highlighted by a bad drop on a screen pass. With the Dolphins' offensive line unlikely to be as bad as it was last season, and Ryan Tannehill still growing, Wallace should have improved team context in 2014. However, the speedy wideout has been inconsistent over the last few years, and he seems to drop passes in the most frustrating manner possible.
Thu Aug 14 201411:37Wallace said that he will play in Saturday's game against Bucs
Wallace, who sat out the Dolphins' preseason opener with a hamstring injury, said that he will play in Saturday's game against the Bucs, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
On the heels of a campaign in which he caught 73 passes for 930 yards and five touchdowns, Wallace remains entrenched as a starter for the Dolphins opposite Brian Hartline. Assuming he can continue to build on his chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill, who is now working behind a revamped O-line, it's not hard to imagine Wallace seeing an uptick in his 2013 numbers in the coming season.

Wallace was back at practice Sunday after missing Friday's preseason contest, the Miami Herald reports.
The same applies to fellow starting wideout Brian Hartline, which suggests that the duo should be a go for this coming Saturday's preseason contest against the Bucs.

Wallace and quarterback Ryan Tannehill are still having chemistry issues, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Tannehill constantly came up short on the deep ball to Wallace last season, a problem that has continued so far in training camp. Wallace is a burner who seems not to have to much of a problem getting behind the secondary but Tannehill has yet to judge just how fast he is. One would think this would've been worked out by now but perhaps Tannehill just isn't a good deep ball passer.
Mon Aug 4 201410:47Wallace (hamstring) suited up for practice Monday
Wallace (hamstring) suited up for practice Monday, ESPN.com reports.
The hamstring issue that forced Wallace out of practice this past Tuesday thus proved relatively minor and the wideout returns to the field Monday entrenched as a starting wideout for the Dolphins opposite Brian Hartline, on the heels of a season in which he caught 73 passes for 930 yards and five touchdowns. With the potential for improved chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill (working behind a more stable line) while working in coordinator Bill Lazor's offense, it's not hard to imagine Wallace seeing an uptick in his 2013 numbers this coming season.

Wallace (hamstring) will sit out of practice until at least next week, the Miami Herald reports.
Wallace exited Tuesday's practice early with a sore hamstring and has not seen the field since. Although it's considered a minor issue, the Dolphins will withhold their No. 1 wideout until he's able to return at full health. Wallace will not partake in the team's scrimmage at Sun Life Stadium over the weekend, but will aim to re-join his teammates in practice some time next week.
Thu Jul 31 201408:25Mike Wallace sidelined by hamstring injury
Mike Wallace (hamstring) will not practice until at least next week.
Wallace said his hamstring was "tight" earlier this week and then sat out Wednesday's session. So he'll rest it for a few days, meaning he'll miss Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage. Wallace's tweak doesn't sound overly severe, but we hate when speed-reliant wideouts have soft-tissue problems in their legs. It's something to monitor once the prime bounce-back candidate does get back on the field.

Wed Jul 30 201420:38Wallace (hamstring) missed practice Wednesday
Wallace (hamstring) missed practice Wednesday, according to the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero.
Wallace first injured the hamstring Tuesday and should be good to go in another day or two as the injury is not expected to be serious. The key to the Dolphins offense this season could be the chemistry or lack there of between Wallace and QB Ryan Tannehill.
Sun Jul 27 201411:20Mike Wallace moving around formation in camp
Mike Wallace has been moving around the formation and lining up on both sides during training camp.
"I think I'll get to run everything," Wallace said. "I'll be able to be a complete receiver instead of a one-dimensional guy." After running mostly go routes down the right sideline under old OC Mike Sherman, Wallace is "running a variety of patterns" under new play caller Bill Lazor. Wallace is currently being drafted as a WR3, but we like his odds for having a bounce-back breakout year.

Thu Jun 19 201414:09Wallace has 'really good' offseason program
Dolphins coach Joe Philbin believes Mike Wallace has had a "really good offseason program."
Per reporter Andrew Abramson, Wallace was "usually the last one off the field" in spring practice. It's nice to see an actually established player be the subject of so many offseason puff pieces. Words and performances from pad-less practices typically mean very little once teams actually start gearing up for the season in training camp, but it's clear Wallace has been energized by the Dolphins' regime change at offensive coordinator. Bill Lazor seems to have a much firmer grip on Wallace's strengths than his clueless predecessor Mike Sherman.

Mon Jun 9 201413:28Mike Wallace takes snaps out of backfield
Mike Wallace has taken snaps out of the backfield in Dolphins OTAs.
Wallace, who has also lined up outside and in the slot, scored out of the formation last week. It's just the latest indication new OC Bill Lazor is serious about using Wallace as a movable chess piece after his predecessor Mike Sherman kept Wallace glued to the outside. We're still only in pad-less practices, but Lazor appears a good bet to make the Dolphins' offense far more watchable and competent in 2014.

Fri Jun 6 201401:30Mike Wallace will move around the formation
Mike Wallace confirmed he will frequently move around the formation in new Dolphins OC Bill Lazor's offense.
Lazor comes from Philly, where DeSean Jackson was a movable chess piece and played 30 percent of his 2013 snaps in the slot. "Nobody can ever key on me," Wallace said. "Last year, you kind of knew where I was every single play." Indeed. Wallace played 90 percent of his 2013 downs on the right side of Miami's formation. He's a sneaky bounce-back candidate with high-end WR2 upside.

Mon Jun 2 201417:07Mike Wallace 'clearly in better spirits'
According to the Miami Herald, Mike Wallace is "clearly better spirits" under new OC Bill Lazor.
Per reporter Barry Jackson, Wallace is jazzed about the flexibility Lazor's offense gives him to "change where he lines up." Former OC Mike Sherman was infamously uncreative with his use of his No. 1 receiver. Wallace is a strong bet to improve on his 73/930/5 2013 line.

Sat May 31 201418:58Mike Wallace primed for bounce-back 2014?
ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker believes Mike Wallace could be primed for a big 2014.
Wallace posted a career-worst 12.7 YPC and five touchdowns under Mike Sherman last season, but has bounce-back appeal in new OC Bill Lazor's more vertical-based passing attack. He's reportedly put in better work this offseason and has shown improved chemistry with Ryan Tannehill. Wallace is moving all over the formation in OTAs after playing just three-percent of his snaps in the slot last year. With Lazor now calling the shots, the Dolphins should manufacture more touches for Wallace in 2014.

Wed May 28 201406:42Mike Wallace says he feels more comfortable
Mike Wallace admitted he "didn't feel like I knew what was going on" last season.
Observers of departed OC Mike Sherman's scheme didn't know what was going on either. He never even attempted to establish a run game, turned Ryan Tannehill into a pinata (league-high 58 sacks) and was strikingly uncreative with Wallace. New OC Bill Lazor is moving Wallace all over the formation, something that played a major role in DeSean Jackson's career-best 2013 season. Wallace says he feels "a lot more comfortable" and hasn't missed a single chance to work out with Tannehill this offseason. He's going to improve drastically on last year's career-worst 12.7 YPC and five touchdowns.

Sun May 4 201414:31Mike Wallace not loved by Dolphins coaches
According to the Miami Herald, "several" Dolphins players believe some of the team's coaches "aren't big fans" of Mike Wallace.
A prominent agent also told the Herald that head coach Joe Philbin is "running in that place." The Dolphins are "looking closely" at first- and second-round wide receivers, and players on the team believe the Fins "want to replace (Wallace) in a year or so." Miami could save $2.5 million in salary cap space by releasing Wallace next offseason, or $9.3 million by cutting him in 2016.

Wed Apr 23 201410:05Wallace excited about new Dolphins offense
Mike Wallace said the Dolphins' new offensive scheme is "my style."
Fired OC Mike Sherman believed in a quick-hitting, horizontal West Coast offense. Wallace was predictably a square peg in that scheme, simply lining up as a right-side clear-out receiver the majority of the time. He set career-lows in YPC (12.7) and touchdowns (5). New OC Bill Lazor is about chunk plays and moving his best players all over the formation. Wallace has bounce-back appeal.

Sun Apr 6 201416:15Mike Wallace was a 1-trick pony in 2013
Mike Wallace lined up as the Dolphins' right-side wide receiver on 90 percent of the team's offensive snaps in 2013.
As reporter Armando Salguero notes, Wallace "rarely went into the slot" and "rarely motioned." This made Wallace easy for defenses to take away. Salguero suggests new OC Bill Lazor -- formerly the Eagles' QBs coach -- could employ Wallace like Chip Kelly did with DeSean Jackson last season. Jackson aligned all over the formation, and played nearly 30 percent of his snaps in the slot.

Tue Apr 1 201423:08'Fins 'vehemently' deny Wallace trade rumors
The Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins have "vehemently denied" that Mike Wallace is on the track block.
CBS Sports has reported that Wallace is on the block in each of the past two months, but the Dolphins have been firm in their denials. It's quite possible that the Dolphins aren't telling the truth, but Wallace's $15 million 2014 base salary makes him all but impossible to deal. We expect he'll remain in South Beach.
