Jordan Todman rushed two times for five yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 loss to the Jaguars.

Todman played ahead of Justin Forsett (zero carries) but well behind Maurice Jones-Drew (19 carries). The touchdown came on a pitch play after Jones-Drew failed to convert the initial goal-line chance. Todman is just a really, really weak handcuff.

Coach Gus Bradley said Jordan Todman and Justin Forsett would share the workload if Maurice Jones-Drew (ankle) misses time.

Todman was an eye-opening star during the preseason, rushing 29 times for 223 yards (7.68 YPC) with two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Forsett missed virtually all of August with a toe injury. That's left Todman as the backup and Forsett as the No. 3 for now. "Forsett is probably 95 percent back healthy and so we're using both of them. But he [Todman] is learning," Bradley said. Denard Robinson will also mix in. The situation is hands-off against Seattle in Week 3, but it's a situation for deep-leaguers to monitor.

Filling in for an injured Maurice Jones-Drew, Jordan Todman rushed five times for just seven yards in the Jaguars' Week 2 loss to the Raiders.

Todman got the call over Justin Forsett when MJD departed midway through the second quarter, but found no running room with the Raiders bearing down on the box thanks to Chad Henne's ineptness. Forsett didn't carry the ball, and caught just one pass for seven yards. If MJD were unavailable for Week 3 - which seems like a distinct possibility - we'd expect a much more even timeshare, though Forsett's limited use today could have been related to his troublesome toe. Neither player would be worth a start as a FLEX play.

He has one catch for -3 yards. With Justin Forsett nursing a camp-long toe injury and Maurice Jones-Drew sprinkled lightly into preseason games, Todman has led the Jags in carries and displayed outstanding burst. Todman has played well enough to put himself on the fantasy radar in deep and Dynasty leagues. At 5'9/193, Todman ran a 4.40 at the 2011 Combine with a 38-inch vertical.

Jaguars declared RB Jordan Todman, DE Austen Lane, RB Maurice Jones-Drew, WR Toney Clemons, CB Derek Cox, OL Steve Vallos, and DT Jeris Pendleton inactive for Week 13.

Todman was expected to be part of the rotation at running back, but he needs another week after just signing. Rashad Jennings will likely play as an every-down back with special teamer Montell Owens as the backup.

Todman did all he could with 114 yards on 10 carries in the preseason finale, but it wasn't enough. The Vikes opted to keep fullback/running back hybrid Matt Asiata instead.

It's worth noting that Todman drew no interest around the league despite a bevy of running back injuries. The shifty rookie out of UConn has signed back on with the Chargers as part of their practice squad.

He was better than we expected. The recent failures of highly productive UConn backs made us wary of Todman even after watching him extensively in college, but he showed no fear running inside the tackles and has a knack for getting open on check-down routes. Todman was essentially the Chargers' featured player Thursday night, playing extensively after Mike Tolbert and Ryan Mathews exited. He's not quite Darren Sproles, but he's going to make the team.
