Tue Apr 22 201416:14Report: 'Plenty of work' left for SEA/Sherman
Profootballtalk reports "plenty of work" remains in the Seahawks' long-term talks with LCB Richard Sherman.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, "a consensus hasn't been reached on dollars or terms." This doesn't necessarily run contrary to CBS' Tuesday report that the sides have made "considerable progress." The odds are high that Sherman's contract situation is taken care of before Week 1.

Tue Apr 22 201411:49Seahawks, CB Sherman nearing long-term deal
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Seahawks and LCB Richard Sherman "have made considerable progress" on a long-term deal that will make Sherman the highest-paid corner in the NFL.
The sides are "hopeful" the deal will be completed by the draft, and it's expected to be worth north of $13 million annually. Darrelle Revis is currently the top-paid corner in the league at $12 million for 2014. Aqib Talib sets the bar in terms of guaranteed money with $26 million. Sherman should shatter that. The 2011 fifth-rounder just turned 26 last month and is entering the final year of his deal.

Wed Feb 12 201413:50Seahawks, CB Sherman yet to talk extension
Profootballtalk reports the Seahawks and LCB Richard Sherman have yet to engage in contract extension talks.
Sherman, a fifth-round pick in 2011, became eligible for a new deal on December 29 when his third regular season in the league came to a close. He has one year left on his rookie deal at $1.389 million. Negotiations are expected to take place this spring. It would be surprising if an agreement isn't reached. Sherman will likely become the highest-paid cornerback in the league.

Thu Feb 6 201408:26Richard Sherman would have missed a few weeks
Richard Sherman would have missed a few weeks if he sustained his ankle sprain during the season.
Sherman was diagnosed with a second-degree high ankle sprain following the Super Bowl and will be healed in plenty of time for OTAs in May. Pro Football Focus' No. 6 corner will be angling for a contract extension this offseason. Sherman is set to make just $1.389 million in 2014, the final year of his rookie deal.

Sun Feb 2 201421:41Richard Sherman carted off in Super Bowl
Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman was carted off the field with a right ankle injury in Super Bowl 48.
The injury didn't appear particularly serious on the field, but Sherman was limping around for much of the second half. We suspect he'll be alright. Sherman put clamps on Eric Decker in the Super Bowl, holding him to one catch for six yards before exiting midway through the fourth frame.

Mon Jan 20 201411:09Sherman's brother says Crabtree started fight
Richard Sherman's brother says Michael Crabtree tried to start a fight with Sherman during a charity event last summer.
The 49ers threw at Sherman one time on Sunday, the memorable play that saw the All-Pro corner break up a potential game-winning pass intended for Crabtree with 22 seconds remaining. After that, things got ugly. Sherman drew a penalty flag for giving the choke sign to Crabtree and called the receiver mediocre in various post-game rants. The antics have become standard for Sherman, but apparently there's some personal history here dating back to Larry Fitzgerald's charity event. After that dust-up, Sherman vowed to "make a play and embarrass him."

Mon Sep 16 201310:22Richard Sherman asked to cover Boldin
Richard Sherman said he asked coach Pete Carroll to shadow Anquan Boldin in Sunday night's Week 2 win over the Niners.
The Seahawks normally just play sides with their corners. But with Brandon Browner (hamstring) sidelined, Sherman took on the challenge of stopping Boldin and humiliated the veteran. Boldin finished with just one catch for seven yards on four targets. Sherman, a first-team All-Pro last season, is clearly the most dominant cover corner in the league this side of Darrelle Revis. Cecil Shorts and all Jaguars will be hands-off fantasy plays in Week 3.

Thu Dec 27 201213:10Schefter: Sherman wins PED suspension appeal
Updating a previous item, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman won his four-game PED suspension appeal.
Sherman originally tweeted out the news saying, "Thank you NFL for upholding the truth... I won." Schefter and multiple national writers have also confirmed the news, along with the NFL Players Association. Sherman hasn't denied that he tested positive for amphetamines, but he has indeed won the appeal based on the "specimen collector screwed up" argument. Any way you slice it, it's huge news for Seattle. RCB Brandon Browner will serve the final game of his four-game ban in Week 17 before the shutdown duo will be back on the field together for the first round of the NFL playoffs.

Thu Dec 27 201212:18Seahawks CB Sherman says he won PED appeal
Seahawks CB Richard Sherman tweeted Thursday that he won an appeal of his four-game suspension.
Sherman, who was snubbed from the Pro Bowl team, argued that the cup used for his urine specimen was contaminated because it was "leaking." The NFL apparently agreed that the "chain of custody" was broken and the positive test for Adderall was invalid. It's massive news for the Seahawks, who will now have their elite corner duo available for the playoffs as Brandon Browner's four-game suspension will be up after Week 17.

Mon Dec 24 201215:29Seahawks CB Sherman to learn fate Thursday
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the decision on Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman's four-game PEDs suspension appeal is expected to be announced Thursday.
Per Schefter, Sherman is arguing that his urine specimen was contaminated while being collected for drug testing. Sherman claims the cup was "leaking," which led to the collector placing a second cup underneath it to capture the leakage. Sherman's argument hinges on the "chain of custody" being broken due to the fact that the second cup's "seal had already been broken," and the urine was contaminated. "It should go well," Sherman said confidently. "There was a chain of custody mistake. There were mistakes made by the tester." Sherman tested positive for Adderall.

Sun Dec 23 201210:55League: 'Safe to say' Sherman will start SNF
NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed that it's "safe to say" Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman will play Sunday night against the 49ers.
Sherman had his four-game suspension appeal heard on Friday, but a decision isn't expected until early next week. If he were not eligible to play in Week 16, Seattle would have likely been notified on Saturday. With Sherman suiting up, yards will be hard to come by for Michael Crabtree.

Fri Dec 21 201217:11Carroll expecting Sherman to play against SF
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll expects LCB Richard Sherman to play against the 49ers as he awaits the appeal result of his four-game suspension.
ESPN's Ed Werder reported earlier in the day that Sherman's appeal is unlikely to be decided before early next week, so there's every reason to believe Sherman will suit up for Sunday's mammoth division tilt. It's bad news for Michael Crabtree.

Fri Dec 21 201209:45Seahawks expect Sherman ruling next week
The Seahawks do not expect a ruling on LCB Richard Sherman's four-game suspension appeal until next week.
Sherman will miss two consecutive practices to travel to New York for Friday's appeal hearing. The NFL usually lets teams know early in the week whether a player will be available for Sunday's game. If Sherman's suspension is not overturned, it will likely kick in Week 17.

Mon Dec 17 201218:05Seahawks CB Sherman to learn his fate Friday
Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman's four-game suspension appeal will be heard on Friday, two days before Seattle's Week 16 game versus San Francisco.
The 49ers face the surging Seahawks on Sunday Night Football this week. Seattle will learn whether Sherman is available for that game probably by Friday afternoon. Colin Kaepernick's fantasy matchup would get a sizable upgrade if Sherman's suspension were to kick in, as RCB Brandon Browner already accepted his four-game ban for Adderall usage. The Seahawks would have to play without both of their starting cornerbacks in the mammoth division game. In addition, second-team CBs Walter Thurmond III and Marcus Trufant missed Week 15 with hamstring injuries.

Tue Dec 11 201217:37Report: Seattle CB Sherman's appeal delayed
According to Yahoo! Sports, Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman's appeal date for his four-game PEDs suspension is likely to be delayed again.
In which case, the All-Pro caliber corner would be active for the matchup with Stevie Johnson and the Bills in Week 15. Sherman insists he never used Adderall and believes he will be exonerated by the league: "It's gonna get solved and I think at the end of the day it'll get worked out fine."

Mon Dec 3 201215:38Richard Sherman appeal date set for Dec. 14
Seahawks LCB Richard Sherman's appeal date for his four-game PEDs suspension has been set for December 14.
Seahawks RCB Brandon Browner's appeal date has not been set. Both corners will be available for Week 14 against Arizona, but the suspensions are liable to kick in at any moment following the appeals. Through 12 games, Sherman has four picks and three forced fumbles. He's one of the NFL's top young corners.

Mon Nov 26 201218:55Bears will have to face Sherman and Browner
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday Countdown that Seahawks CBs Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner will be available for Week 13 against the Bears.
It's too bad for Jay Cutler & Co. Per Schefter, Browner and Sherman's appeals of their four-game suspensions will not be heard until next week at soonest, so they'll both be available for the Bears game. At least partially because the Seahawks have playoff aspirations, Sherman and Browner are fighting the four-game bans rather than accepting them and returning in Week 17.

Mon Nov 26 201214:24Report: Sherman/Browner appeals on fast track
A league source tells Profootballtalk.com the NFL plans to hear Seahawks CBs Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner's appeals of their four-game suspensions next week.
The league wants to fast track the process, though Sherman and Browner are hoping to have the proceedings delayed. Per PFT, they are alleging "irregularities in the collection process," a la Ryan Braun. If the appeal isn't delayed and the bans are upheld, Seattle will lose its starting cornerback duo for its final four games, essentially torpedoing its playoff chances.
