Jackson (groin) and his teammates will not practice Thursday as a result of a major snowstorm that has impacted the Buffalo area, NFL.com reports.
The Bills are currently scheduled to play the Jets on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, but at this stage, there seems to be a decent chance that the time/day of the contest may be rescheduled. The report relays that a decision on that front should come no later than Friday.

While the Bills were unable to practice Wednesday due to a nasty snowstorm in Buffalo, Jackson (groin) is listed as a would-be limited participant.
There are plenty of question marks in Buffalo right now due to one of the nastier snowstorms you'll hear about - including a small possibility the game has to be pushed back to Monday - so we'll have a better idea of Jackson's status for this week's game against the Jets once the team is able to get back on the field and practice.
Mon Nov 17 201409:49Fred Jackson: (Groin) Planning on Playing Sunday
Jackson (groin) expects to play Sunday against the Jets.
Although Jackson is feeling better, he'll progress carefully through additional work in practice as the week rolls along. As it currently stands, the Bills are likely to utilize all three of their healthy backs with Jackson rejoining Boobie Dixon and Bryce Brown in the backfield mix.

Coach Doug Marrone thinks Jackson (groin) could have played this week if the game had been Sunday instead of Thursday, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Jackson will now get three extra days to rest ahead of next week's game against the Jets. He did aggravate the injury last week in coming back early to play against the Chiefs, so his practice participation next week is key. If the Bills lose one or two more games they are out of the playoff race, so assuming no more setbacks we'd have to feel pretty good about Jackson's chances of playing in Week 12. That said, there's a shot he's limited the rest of the way.
Thu Nov 13 201419:02Jackson (groin) inactive for Thursday's game against Dolphins
Jackson (groin) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Dolphins.
With Jackson out, as expected, and thus presumably targeting a Week 12 return, Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown are in line to handle the Bills' Week 11 rushing duties.
Thu Nov 13 201413:22Jackson (groin) unlikely to play Thursday against Dolphins
Jackson (groin) is unlikely to play Thursday against the Dolphins, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports.
Rodak's report echoes the notion put forth by Tim Graham of the Buffalo News that Jackson is expected to sit out Thursday's contest. Assuming Jackson sits, Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown would be in line to handle the Bills' Week 11 rushing duties.

Tim Graham of the Buffalo News relays that he's been told that Jackson (groin) almost certainly won't play Thursday against the Dolphins.
The report suggests that Jackson's recovery from the work he saw this past Sunday against the Chiefs has taken too long, so it looks like the veteran back is in line to be held out Thursday, a notion that will be confirmed one way or the other in advance of the Bills' 8:25 ET kickoff. In such a scenario, Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown would be on track to handle the Bills' Week 11 backfield duties, with Brown representing an intriguing roll of the dice in PPR formats, after catching six passes for 65 yards this past Sunday, while Jackson recorded four catches of his own in that contest.

NFL.com suggests that there's a chance that Jackson (groin) could sit out Thursday's game against the Dolphins.
While there have been no reported setbacks for Jackson -- who suited up this past Sunday against the Chiefs and carried three times for 10 yards and caught four passes for 39 yards -- with the Bills on a short week, it's possible that the team could consider resting the veteran back, with an eye toward having him in better health for the team's Nov. 23 tilt against the Jets. Either way, if Jackson, who is listed as questionable by the Bills, does end up suiting up for Thursday's 8:25 ET kickoff, it's not hard to imagine a scenario in which he'd share backfield work with Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown.

Jackson (groin) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game in Miami, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports.
We think he'll play, given the importance of the game for the Bills, but the bigger question is how much of a workload he'd be able to take on. Given that he was on the field for just 37 percent of the offensive plays in Week 10 and this game is just four days later, you're probably hoping for a score if you use Jackson in your lineup. The volume may not be there just yet.
Tue Nov 11 201416:33Jackson (groin) limited participant in Tuesday's practice
Jackson (groin) was a limited participant in Tuesday's practice, ESPN.com reports.
Coach Doug Marrone spoke of the difficulty determining the readiness of some of his injured players, saying limited participants "never really practice at a level to know whether they can go in and play the amount that you want them to play," but Jackson's ability to take the field in any capacity bodes well for his chances of suiting up Thursday against Miami. However, it's uncertain when Jackson may be able to return to a full workload, as he played just 37 percent of the team's offensive snaps Sunday against the Chiefs and it seems likely he'll be on a rather strict snap count again in Week 11.
Tue Nov 11 201412:25Fred Jackson: (Groin) Practices Tuesday
Jackson (groin) took part in Tuesday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of WGR Buffalo reports.
It's not clear how much work Jackson was able to get in Tuesday, but it's a good sign that he was able to take the field. Jackson figures to play in the Bills' next game Thursday after returning to action Sunday, but it remains to be seen what his role will be, as all of Jackson, Anthony Dixon, and Bryce Brown saw ample work in Week 10.
Tue Nov 11 201412:25Jackson (groin) on field for Tuesday's practice
Jackson (groin) is on the field for Tuesday's practice, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak.
We'll see if Jackson gets the limited or full designation, but things look good for the veteran playing Thursday in a short turnaround after he gutted it out during Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. The real question seems to be how quickly the team will upramp his workload, though we'll probably see him do more following the long rest the Bills will receive following this week's prime time game,
Mon Nov 10 201418:17The Bills held walk-through Monday
The Bills held a walk-through Monday, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports, but if they had conducted a full practice, Jackson (groin) would have been a limited participant, per the team's posted injury report.
The report would seem to confirm that Jackson made it through his return to action in Week 10 without any notable setbacks, but given that he had just three carries in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs, compared to nine for Anthony Dixon and seven for Bryce Brown, it wouldn't surprise us if the team continued to work Jackson back in incrementally, with the Bills on a short week, facing Miami on Thursday.

Jackson, who rallied to return early from a groin injury, was only on the field for 37 percent of the team's offensive snaps in Sunday's loss to Kansas City, according to Joe Buscaglia of WGR550.com.
Jackson didn't do much, with just three carries for 10 rushing yards and four catches for 39 receiving yards. His involvement should go up as he moves past the injury, though the worst thing for Jackson owners right now is the Bills' schedule, which has them playing in the Thursday night game this week. We have to imagine he'll still be somewhat limited in a game just four days after the most recent, though by Week 12 Jackson might be able to take over the full carry load. We'll note Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown both ran well against a tough Chiefs defense, which could factor into how quickly the Bills upramp Jackson's workload.

Jackson (groin) had three carries for 10 rushing yards and four catches on five targets for 39 receiving yards Sunday against the Chiefs.
Jackson suffered his groin injury back in Week 7 against the Vikings and missed just one game after initial estimates said he could be out for at least four. However, he was clearly limited Sunday and he finished with fewer touches than both Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown. He could see a bigger workload in Week 11 against the Dolphins if he can get in at least one full practice next week, though he really struggled against them in Week 2, rushing 12 times for just 24 yards.

Jackson (groin) is listed as active for Sunday's game against Kansas City.
With the Bills coming off their Week 9 bye, Jackson's groin injury (sustained on 10/19) cost him just one game. He'll tough it out Sunday, which makes him worth a look in deeper formats, though in his return, it's plausible that that the Bills could ease Jackson back in, with Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown on hand to spell him.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport indicates that the Bills are reportedly optimistic that Jackson (groin) will be available for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
More on Jackson's status as Sunday' 1:00 ET kickoff approaches, but if he is able to suit up, it's unclear how heavily the veteran back would be utilized in his return from a groin injury, with Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown also on hand in the Buffalo backfield mix.

Jackson (groin), who was able to practice again for the third straight day Friday, is listed as questionable for this week's game against the Chiefs.
Coach Doug Marrone isn't ready to commit to having Jackson back this week and even the running back has been a bit wishy-washy in his comments, so this one will probably be a Sunday morning decision for you. Fortunately, they Bills play in the first wave of games.
Fri Nov 7 201410:51Fred Jackson: (Groin) No Decision Yet On Week 10 Status
Head coach Doug Marrone said Friday morning that the Bills have not decided whether or not Jackson (groin) will play this week, NFL.com reports.
Marrone said Thursday that Jackson was "not ready" to play, but he backtracked a bit Friday, saying, "We'll see how it goes the next couple of days." While the door remains open for Jackson to play this week, Marrone also said that Jackson "is not 100 percent yet," so fantasy owners should not be surprised if the Bills opt to hold him out Sunday.

Coach Doug Marrone says Jackson (groin) "is not ready yet" even though he practiced for a second straight day Thursday.
We'll find out if Jackson practicing Friday changes things, so consider his status for this week's game against Kansas City still at questionable status. There's a shot Marrone could play it where he keeps Jackson out for one more game, then gives him a full load for next Thursday's divisional game in Miami.
