McManus (groin) has won the kicker job in Denver after the Broncos released Matt Prater (suspension) on Friday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Prater is three games into a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy, though he was fully expected to reclaim his job by Week 6. However, McManus has performed well this season, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 8-of-8 on PATs, and the Broncos will keep him around for a fraction of Prater's price.

McManus (groin) connected on his lone field goal attempt, a 24-yarder, and his lone PAT in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Seahawks.

McManus has gone 1-for-1 in field goal attempts in three straight games, while hitting all eight of his PATs. The Broncos head out on bye in Week 4 before taking on the Cardinals in Week 5, which could be McManus' last game with the team, as regular kicker Matt Prater is due back from his four-game suspension in Week 6 against the Jets.

McManus converted his only field goal attempt en route to six points Sunday against the Chiefs.

McManus made good from 20 yards to improve to two-for-two on field goal attempts this season. While Matt Prater remains suspended for two more games, McManus will continue to handle kicking duties for the Broncos.
