Kenbrell Thompkins (questionable, shoulder) was limited in Patriots practice Friday.
The Pats are going all-in on their questionable/limited tags this week. Thompkins is expected to play at Cincinnati, particularly after insisting to reports on Friday that he's "fine." He's an every-week WR3 starter in fantasy.

Kenbrell Thompkins had six catches for 127 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 4 win over the Falcons.
He was targeted a team-high 11 times. Thompkins dropped a pass early in the game, but made an impressive 49-yard catch over the top of William Moore in the first half. His touchdown came on an 18-yard pass from Tom Brady in the fourth quarter. Thompkins has now scored in back-to-back games and is on pace for 60 receptions, 1,028 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

Sun Sep 22 201316:47Kenbrell Thompkins has 3/41/2 day vs. Bucs
Kenbrell Thompkins caught three passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns in New England's Week 3 win over the Bucs.
Thompkins was still inefficient - he corralled just 3-of-7 targets - but looked far more comfortable than he did in his first two games, while some of his uncaught targets were the fault of Tom Brady. Thompkins' red-zone looks could dissipate with the impending return of Rob Gronkowski, but he remains worth a bench stash as a WR4/5 in all formats.

Fri Sep 13 201300:25Kenbrell Thompkins has two-catch night
Kenbrell Thompkins caught two passes for 47 yards in New England's Week 2 win over the Jets.
Thompkins drew the start, but proceeded to turn in his second wildly inefficient performance in just five days. Despite a nice effort on a potential 25-yard touchdown in the first half, Thompkins simply can't catch passes that aren't right in his bread basket. His field awareness also leaves much to be desired, though he's shown little trouble getting open. Injuries have necessitated that the Patriots put too much on Thompkins' plate too soon, and he's responded by playing like what he is: An undrafted rookie. Thompkins' 21 targets through two games offer a glimmer of fantasy hope, but owners in 10-12 team re-draft formats can consider giving up the ghost.

Wed Sep 11 201309:37Kenbrell Thompkins was 'pretty awful' Week 1
The Boston Globe calls Kenbrell Thompkins' Week 1 performance "pretty awful in several areas."
Thompkins showed "very little awareness" en route to a 4/42/0 line on 14 targets. Per the Globe, he double-clutched his catches, slipped on multiple occasions, failed to tap his foot down for two catches, ran the wrong route at the goal line (which led to a sack) and couldn't stay on his feet after catching a slant at the 2-yard line. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? Thompkins certainly may have had some NFL debut jitters, but perhaps we saw a little of why he went undrafted in April. Julian Edelman is a stronger fantasy start in Thursday's game against the Jets.

Sun Sep 8 201317:01Kenbrell Thompkins catches 4 passes in debut
Kenbrell Thompkins had an inefficient NFL debut in the Patriots' Week 1 win over the Bills, hauling in just 4-of-14 targets for 42 yards.
Tom Brady had the utmost faith in his rookie "X" receiver, but Thompkins didn't reward it, muffing a number of catchable balls while struggling mightily with his footwork. Thompkins dropped a potential touchdown, and just didn't appear capable of making anything other than routine catches. It's quite possible nerves were a factor, but we'd be surprised if the game plan called for another 14 looks in Week 2. Thompkins' talent is undeniable, but for now he's a WR4 stash for fantasy purposes.

Thu Aug 22 201322:41Kenbrell Thompkins: 8 catches for 116 yards
Kenbrell Thompkins caught a game-high eight passes for 116 yards in the Patriots' third preseason game Thursday night.
Thompkins had (roughly) a drop and a half, and failed to stay in bounds while securing the last of his 11 targets, but ultimately it was another highly impressive performance. He started it by whipping rookie CB Darius Slay downfield for a 37-yard connection, and continued to display outstanding strength at the catch point. Thompkins is locked in as New England's Week 1 starter at X receiver -- Brandon Lloyd's old position. Through three preseason games, Thompkins has 13 receptions for 142 yards. He's played more snaps with and been targeted more by Tom Brady than any other Patriots player.

Wed Aug 21 201310:46Kenbrell Thompkins clearly ahead at
Through two preseason games, Kenbrell Thompkins has played 29 snaps with Tom Brady.
It's the second-most among wideouts on the team. Danny Amendola (32) leads the way, followed by Thompkins, Josh Boyce (15), Aaron Dobson (10) and Julian Edelman (4). Thompkins and Amendola are the Patriots receivers in two-wide formations, and Thompkins clearly has the stranglehold on the "X" position. Brandon Lloyd produced a 74/911/4 line and got 130 targets while playing that spot in 2012.

Fri Aug 16 201321:58Pats start Thompkins, Amendola in 2-WR set
The Patriots started Kenbrell Thompkins and Danny Amendola in a two-receiver set to open Friday night's preseason game against the Bucs.
Thompkins only had one catch for three yards following his four-reception opener, but he played 21 snaps with Tom Brady as opposed to only two for Aaron Dobson. Thompkins is clearly ahead of Dobson on the depth chart at this point, and worth a look in the ninth or tenth round of re-draft leagues. Dobson is now playing his snaps with the second-team offense and Ryan Mallett.

Wed Aug 14 201309:10Kenbrell Thompkins still getting the top reps
Patriots UDFA WR Kenbrell Thompkins continues to take the first-string reps at practice.
We're three weeks into camp and Thompkins hasn't slowed down. Per beat writer Mike Reiss, his "consistency has been impressive throughout camp." Second-round rookie Aaron Dobson has come on as well, but it appears clear Thompkins is in the lead for the starting "X" job. He's shaping up as a strong flier in the back of fantasy drafts.

Sat Aug 10 201315:07Kenbrell Thompkins to be featured more & more
The Boston Globe expects UDFA WR Kenbrell Thompkins to be "featured more and more" after a strong preseason opener.
Thompkins appears to have emerged as the favorite for second receiver duties, behind Danny Amendola and ahead of second-round pick Aaron Dobson. He caught four balls for 23 yards against the Eagles, lining up at multiple wideout spots and running crisp routes. Thompkins is worth drafting in all leagues.

Fri Aug 9 201321:35Kenbrell Thompkins rock solid Friday night
Patriots UDFA WR Kenbrell Thompkins caught four passes for 23 yards in Friday night's preseason opener.
Thompkins lined up at all three receiver positions, playing ahead of more heralded rookie Aaron Dobson. The undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati secured 4-of-5 targets, demonstrating sharp route running and the skill set of a savvy possession receiver. Thompkins is worth considering in the double-digit rounds of re-draft leagues and is an ideal Dynasty prospect.

Wed Aug 7 201319:25Brady shows chemistry with Kenbrell Thompkins
According to the Boston Herald, it's "noticeable" in training camp practices that Tom Brady and UDFA Kenbrell Thompkins are "consistently on the same page."
Beat writer Jeff Howe says Thompkins "has continued to stand out as a possession receiver with vertical skills," hinting at a complete skill set. A 25-year-old rookie, Thompkins is already excelling on option routes, which are a staple in New England's complex passing attack. In Wednesday's team drills, Danny Amendola caught five Brady passes. Thompkins and Josh Boyce each caught four, while Aaron Dobson and Shane Vereen hauled in three apiece.

Sun Aug 4 201309:25Kenbrell Thompkins 'clear favorite' for spot
Per the Boston Globe, undrafted WR Kenbrell Thompkins is the "clear favorite" for the Patriots' No. 5 receiver spot.
Danny Amendola, Julian Edelman, Aaron Dobson, and Josh Boyce are "roster locks," then Thompkins has the edge for the next spot. Thompkins has arguably been the best receiver throughout training camp, and he possesses the best speed among all of the Patriot wideouts. New England is likely to keep six receivers, and special teams ace Matthew Slater is the front-runner for the final spot.

Tue Jul 30 201318:51Thompkins 'arguably best player on field' Tue
According to ESPN Boston, undrafted WR Kenbrell Thompkins "was arguably the best player on the field" in Patriots practice Tuesday.
Per reporter Field Yates, Thompkins made "several noteworthy grabs and (showed) precise route running." It's worth noting that Thompkins reportedly struggled on Monday. Nevertheless, Thompkins has drawn consistent praise since he was signed out of Cincinnati in April. Considering the uncertain state of the Patriots' receiver corps, Thompkins is certainly worth a flier in Dynasty leagues. Thompkins turned 25 on Monday.

Sun Jul 28 201315:41Kenbrell Thompkins shining early in Pats camp
According to the Boston Globe, Patriots UDFA Kenbrell Thompkins has been "catching everything thrown his way" early in camp while earning "repetitions with the starting unit."
The Globe includes Thompkins as one of its early risers through three days of Patriots camp. Second-round pick Aaron Dobson has also received first-team reps, with Michael Jenkins falling behind Thompkins, Dobson, Josh Boyce, and Kamar Aiken in the wideout rotation. The Globe's report indicates Thompkins is outplaying Dobson. While Dobson is surely owned already, we'd recommend all dynasty fantasy leaguers adding Thompkins where he's available.
