Collins was on the field for 73-of-74 snaps on defense in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins, ESPN.com reports.

Tue Jun 17 201409:24Pats 2nd-year LB Collins a breakout candidate
The Boston Herald pegs Patriots second-year OLB/DE Jamie Collins as a "big-time breakout candidate."
Collins, the 52nd pick last year, played sparingly as a rookie before participating on 98 percent of the defensive snaps in the playoffs and having a breakout game against the Colts in the Divisional Round. Collins can play any of the linebacker spots and rush the passer as an end. He'll get after the quarterback and cover running backs and tight ends. Collins is going to be an every-down player.

Sun Jan 12 201410:42Patriots rookie LB Collins plays every snap
Patriots rookie OLB/DE Jamie Collins played all 66 defensive snaps in Saturday's Divisional Round win over the Colts.
Collins, the 52nd pick in April's draft, had played all of 368 snaps in the 16 regular-season games. With MLB Brandon Spikes (knee) sent to injured reserve last week, the Patriots needed a linebacker to step up. Collins did just that. He recorded six tackles (two for loss), a sack, an interception, and three quarterback hits. The interception was about 20 yards downfield and was a display of Collins' extreme versatility and athleticism that made him a second-round pick.

Sun Sep 15 201308:54Patriots top pick Collins used sparingly
Patriots second-round OLB/DE Jamie Collins has been limited to just six snaps through the first two games.
Collins, the Patriots' top pick at No. 52 overall, played two snaps in the opener before playing four against the Jets on Thursday night. He's been limited to playing mostly on special teams. Look for the pass rush specialist to become more involved once he fully picks up the scheme. New England's rookie class has been pretty disappointing through two weeks of the season.
