Jones caught two passes on two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 24-13 win over the 49ers.
Oakland wideouts combined for just 69 yards Sunday, as tight end Mychal Rivera and fullback Marcel Reece combined to see half of the targets from quarterback Derek Carr (28 pass attempts). Jones is now averaging a mere 6.4 yards per target this season and has scored once in his last eight games. He'll continue to make for a low-floor, low-ceiling option over the remainder of the season.

Jones caught 5-of-6 targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 24-20 win over the Chiefs.
Jones had an efficient game for the first time since Week 6, which also marks the last time he reached the end zone. His night was highlighted by a game-winning, nine-yard touchdown inside of the two-minute warning, though each of his five catches was crucial. The other four all converted third downs, as Jones was Derek Carr's go-to guy in big spots. Fellow wideout Andre Holmes still finished with a team-high 10 targets, and Jones remains a shaky proposition in the woeful Oakland offense.

Jones caught two passes on five targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 13-6 loss to the Chargers.
Jones did have a 28-yard catch, his longest since Week 4, but managed just seven yards on his other four targets. It comes a week after Jones averaged a laughable 1.6 yards per target (20 yards on 12 looks) against Denver. He's probably still worth a final bench spot in PPR formats, but it'll be hard to justify starting him given the struggles of the entire Raiders offense.

Jones had three receptions on four targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 30-24 loss at Seattle.
Jones wasn't much of a factor, as Derek Carr spread things around, completing at least one pass to nine different players. He normally sees a lot targets, although he's posted just one 100-yard game this season, and that came back in Week 2. Next up for Jones is Denver at home.

Jones caught six passes on 11 targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 23-13 loss to the Browns.
While Jones saw a team-high 11 looks, he finished third on the team in receiving yards, behind both Mychal Rivera (83) and Andre Holmes (69). The 30-year-old has just one touchdown in his last five games, and although he should continue to see a good number of targets moving forward, his upside in the Raiders' offense will likely remain limited.

Jones had four receptions on eight targets for 35 yards in Sunday's loss to Arizona.
The Cardinals had been struggling to stop the pass before Sunday's game, but they shut down Derek Carr, as the rookie completed just 16-of-28 passes for 173 yards. Despite the disappointing performance from Jones, he still led all Raiders' wideouts in receptions and targets. Next week at Cleveland, Jones is likely to see a lot of Joe Hayden, although the veteran cornerback hasn't been as strong this season.

Jones had five catches on seven targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Chargers.
Although he was outdone by teammate Andre Holmes, Jones turned in a fine performance Sunday, catching one of quarterback Derek Carr's four touchdown passes. Jones has now scored in three of the Raiders' five games this season and is averaging seven targets per contest. Holmes seems to be emerging as Carr's favorite option -- he has been targeted 20 times in the last two games -- but Jones should be able to maintain his relatively high floor in fantasy, with the Raiders having to put in the air a lot to keep up.

Jones had six catches on six targets for 83 yards Sunday against the Dolphins.
Jones started off the season well, but has failed to score since his nine-catch, 112-yard, one-touchdown performance in Week 2 against the Texans. He is clearly the No. 1 option in Oakland, though there are now questions at quarterback after Derek Carr suffered a high ankle sprain and a sprained MCL Sunday, leaving backup Matt McGloin under center. The Raiders are off in Week 5, but if Carr cannot recover in time (which is the likely scenario), McGloin or Matt Schaub will be throwing passes to James.

Jones caught three passes (five targets) for 43 yards in Sunday's 16-9 loss at New England.
While Jones posted modest totals, he actually led Oakland in receiving yardage. Rod Streater suffered a fractured foot in the loss, so Jones should see a bump in targets.

Jones grabbed nine passes (14 targets) for 112 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 30-14 loss to Houston.
For the second straight week, Jones caught a touchdown in the final two minutes. Unlike Week 1, however, Jones was a big part of the offense throughout, easily leading Oakland in all receiving categories. Rookie quarterback Derek Carr doesn't seem shy about throwing jump balls to Jones, so he might put up some sneaky numbers this year.

Jones had three catches on three targets for 34 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Jets.
Jones was having a fairly quiet day until he caught a 30-yard touchdown with 1:21 left in the fourth quarter to pull the Raiders within five. Rod Streater was clearly the wideout of choice Sunday, as he caught five passes on seven targets for 46 yards and a touchdown. Jones has always been a fantasy player heavily dependent on touchdowns to produce much value, and it appears his time in Oakland will be no different.

Jones caught four passes for 36 yards on 10 targets in Friday's preseason game against the Packers.
It wasn't the greatest return to Lambeau Field, as Jones had a touchdown overturned while recording just 3.6 yards per target. More concerning than his stat line is Matt Schaub's awful play this preseason. On the bright side, Jones and Rod Streater seem to be locked in as the starting duo, and the Raiders will probably need to do quite a bit of passing this season.

Jones got the start in Friday's preseason game against the Lions and finished with two receptions for 29 yards.
While Jones is still listed behind Andre Holmes on the unofficial depth chart, he saw five targets in the first half Friday whereas Holmes didn't see a pass thrown his way until the final drive of the third quarter. Jones was inked to a three-year deal in the offseason, but the team seems intent on making him earn a job along the outside. Despite his age (30), Jones should be up to the task, after hauling in 310 passes for 4,305 yards and 37 touchdowns during his eight seasons in Green Bay.

Jones caught two passes for 29 yards on five targets in Friday's preseason game against the Lions.
Jones was active in the offense from the start of Friday's game, though his five targets produced just three catches, one of which went to the other team. Andre Holmes, who is surprisingly listed ahead of Jones on the depth chart, didn't see a pass until the end of the third quarter. There has been some concern about Jones' role in the offense, but he still figures to start across from Rod Streater. The Oakland offense doesn't figure to be particularly good, and Streater has a strong case to be the team's most frequently targeted receiver.

Jones is listed behind Andre Holmes and Rod Streater on the Raiders' unofficial depth chart.
Take this with the usual grain of salt, as the depth chart is obviously subject to change over the course of the preseason, but the 30-year-old Jones may have a tough time beating out the team's younger options. By all accounts the hamstring injury that gave Jones some problems in minicamp is no longer an issue, though it may have set him back in the competition for playing time. Even if Jones does manage to earn a starting job for Oakland, he may be hard-pressed to match his 93 targets from a season ago, and of course he'll have Matt Schaub throwing him the ball and not Aaron Rodgers.
Thu Jun 19 201419:37James Jones sidelined with shoulder sprain
James Jones will be sidelined until training camp with a sprained shoulder.
He'd missed previous practice time with a hamstring strain. Jones is a 31-year-old veteran, but he could've used the reps with new QB Matt Schaub. Jones does offer some potential to flirt with WR3 value as Oakland's top pass catcher.

Sat May 24 201410:40The Raiders only likely to keep five wideouts
The Raiders are only likely to keep five wide receivers on their 53-man roster.
The Raiders may not have a true No. 1 receiver, but they have a ton of talent in the wide receiver corps. If they are only to keep five, they will have to cut two of Andre Holmes, Greg Little, Brice Butler, or Juron Criner. While nobody on that list is an established contributor, all have high ceilings. Oakland could also choose to move inconsistent playmaker Denarius Moore to free up a spot for some of their young talent. Wideout is one of the few positions in which the Raiders are solid.

Mon Mar 17 201417:45Raiders lure James Jones into the Black Hole
Raiders signed WR James Jones, formerly of the Packers, to a three-year contract.
Jones, 30, set career highs in catches (59) and yards (817) last season with Green Bay, scoring three touchdowns after leading the NFL in touchdown catches (14) the previous year. He gives the Raiders a physical presence with an ability to win contested catches and stretch the field. Unfortunately, Jones going to quarterback-less Oakland could be a death knell for his fantasy outlook. We fully expect Jones to start, but the rest of the Raiders' receiver pecking order is to-be-determined between Denarius Moore, Rod Streater, and Andre Holmes.

Sun Mar 16 201414:29James Jones: I would 'love' to play with Cam
Free agent James Jones told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he wants to play for the Panthers.
"I would love the opportunity to play for the Carolina Panthers," said Jones, 30. "I would love to play with Cam (Newton)." A Charlotte Observer report from last Thursday stated the Panthers are "keeping tabs" on Jones, but his market has lacked buzz since. Carolina has serious salary cap restraints as long as Greg Hardy's cap number is sitting at above $13 million. The Panthers may simply not be able to afford Jones at this point in time.

Thu Mar 13 201419:23Panthers 'keeping tabs' on James Jones
The Panthers are "keeping tabs" on free agent James Jones.
They're also "slow-playing" Hakeem Nicks' market. GM Dave Gettleman took a similar philosophy into 2013 free agency and emerged with several big-time contributors, including Mike Mitchell, Ted Ginn, Drayton Florence, and Travelle Wharton. After releasing Steve Smith, Carolina needs two starting receivers.
