Manning completed 22-of-33 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns Sunday against the Jets.
The Jets did a solid job of keeping Manning off-balance for much of the game, though it wasn't enough to keep him from throwing at least three touchdowns for the fourth time in five games this season. He connected with six different receivers, including 10 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown to Demaryius Thomas, and two touchdown passes to Julius Thomas. Up next is a Week 7 matchup against a 49ers' defense that has been excellent against the pass this season, allowing 205.6 passing yards per game heading into Week 6.
Sun Oct 5 201421:29Peyton Manning: Joins 500-Touchdown Club
Manning completed 31-of-47 passes for 479 yards and four touchdowns Sunday against the Cardinals, the first of which was the 500th of his career, making him the second player in NFL history to reach that mark after Brett Favre.
While Manning was also picked off twice, he was absolutely dominant for much of the game, including helping Demaryius Thomas into the Broncos-record books by posting 226 receiving yards. Manning is now five passing touchdowns short of Favre's all-time NFL record, a figure he could potentially reach as early as Week 6 against the Jets, who have really struggled against the pass this season and gave up 288 yards and three touchdowns to Philip Rivers on Sunday.

Manning completed 31-of-49 passes for a season-high 303 yards with two touchdowns and one interception Sunday against the Seahawks.
Manning struggled for much of Sunday's game, but came on in the fourth quarter to lead the Broncos back and force overtime thanks to a 26-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Tamme with 18 seconds left and a two-point conversion pass to Demaryius Thomas. Manning's interception was his first this season, while he also failed to throw three touchdowns for the first time, both acceptable outcomes given he was playing at Seattle. The Broncos are have an early bye in Week 4 before taking on a tough Cardinals defense in Week 5.

Through the Broncos' first two games, Manning has completed 43-of-62 passes for a total of 511 yards, with six touchdowns and zero interceptions in that span.
Manning, who recorded three TD passes in each of the Broncos' first two games, is in line to take aim at a rugged Seattle defense on Sunday, with the team's wideout corps slated to be bolstered by Wednesday's reinstatement of Wes Welker.

Manning completed 22-of-36 passes for 269 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Colts.
Manning came out firing in the first half, leading the Broncos to 24 points on four drives, three of which were capped off by Julius Thomas touchdowns. The second half was an entirely different story, as Montee Ball struggled to pick up yards on the ground, and Manning missed a few throws that he usually makes. Also, Demaryius Thomas dropped three passes, which probably won't happen again this season. All in all, it was a strong start to Manning's season, though he didn't quite provide the ridiculous production that we came to expect last year.

Manning completed 21-of-27 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns during Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.
Making up for some lost practice time with wideout Emmanuel Sanders, Manning threw both of his touchdowns to the former-Steeler, scoring on plays of 67 and 29-yards. Unfortunately, Wes Welker was diagnosed with a concussion after the game, and with his history of head injuries, he is considered iffy for Week 1, taking away one of Manning's favorite weapons, especially in the red zone. That being said, Manning has plenty of bigger targets, so a drastic decline in expected production isn't warranted.

Manning completed 12-of-14 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's preseason game against the 49ers.
Manning picked apart the 49ers in his two series, including going 8-for-8 on the second drive, while culminated in a 17-yard touchdown pass to Julius Thomas. Manning seems to already be in midseason form, and he'll likely sit out the team's final preseason game to stay healthy for the season opener Sept. 7 against the Colts.
Mon Jun 2 201408:21Peyton Manning to play three more years?
The Denver Post would bet on Peyton Manning playing three more seasons.
Manning is 38 years old and his arm strength is a fraction of what it once was. But he's also playing the best football of his career and got a little rejuvenated by sitting out the 2011 season. Ultimately, how much longer Peyton plays will be determined by how sharply he regresses from last season's MVP performance. We're expecting only a mild decline this year, meaning he'll at least keep going through the 2015 season.

Wed May 7 201409:25Peyton Manning admits arm strength isn't back
Peyton Manning admitted that the strength in his throwing arm is still not where it was prior to neck surgery.
The nerves in Manning's neck and arm continue to rejuvenate slowly. "Maybe I can't throw the 100 mile-an-hour fastball anymore, but I can still strike you out, picking my spots, working the plate," he said. "I don't make the same kind of throws I used to make, I try to use the cerebral part, use my experience." That style was good enough for a record-breaking 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns last season. Arm strength is not a real factor when projecting Manning's numbers.

Sat Apr 19 201411:20NFL looking at Manning's & Gase's Bama visit
The NFL will investigate whether Peyton Manning and Adam Gase broke any NFL rules while visiting Alabama coach Nick Saban last week.
The 2011 collective bargaining agreement prevents coaches and players from having individual meetings prior to the beginning of offseason programs. Saban admitted Gase and Manning were on campus together, but insisted Gase and Manning were not involved in any football related meetings together. It is unclear what punishment Manning or Gase would face if found guilty, but it would likely be a wrist slap at most.

Thu Apr 17 201408:39Broncos to lean on run more this season?
ESPN Broncos reporter Jeff Legwold says Peyton Manning "might be asked to throw less so the offense can be more" this season.
We don't see it. The Broncos led the league by a wide margin in points per game (37.9), yards per game (457.3) and first downs (435) last season, earning the AFC's No. 1 seed for the second straight season. Why change what works? Manning projects to regress a bit off last year's record-setting campaign, but 4,600 yards and 35+ touchdowns on something around 600 attempts is the floor.

Peyton Manning has been fully cleared following a Monday exam on his neck.

Sun Mar 2 201415:41Peyton Manning to undergo neck exam Monday
Peyton Manning's neck exam with the Broncos' medical staff will take place on Monday.
Manning passed his exit physical and recently participated in a high-profile Pro-Am golf tournament. The Broncos may be holding their breath a bit before the exam, but no complications are expected. Manning has undergone four career neck surgeries, including a spinal fusion that cost him the entire 2011 season. On the off chance Monday's checkup does reveal additional neck problems, the Broncos could void Manning's $15 million base salary.

Fri Feb 21 201421:47Peyton Manning to have physical next week
Peyton Manning is expected to visit with doctors in Denver next week to evaluate his neck fusion.
Manning has said repeatedly that he intends on playing in 2014. He had a similar exam following the 2012 season and his physical isn't expected to reveal any issues with his surgically-repaired neck. "He should be fine," GM John Elway confirmed. Manning is set to make $15 million next season and is signed through 2016.

Tue Feb 11 201419:40Browns CEO role in Peyton Manning's future?
The Cleveland Plain Dealer "guesses" Browns owner Jimmy Haslam will offer Peyton Manning a John Elway-style CEO role when Manning's playing days are over.
According to reporter Mary Kay Cabot, Haslam "loves" Manning, and the two are "great friends." Guessing Haslam hires Manning presupposes Haslam will avoid federal prison in the Pilot Flying J investigation. Even if Haslam ends up beating the feds and keeping the Browns, there's no telling how things might look in Cleveland by the time Manning retires. Haslam's tenure has thus far been marred by rash, hair-trigger decision making. He appears to have little idea of what he's doing.

Tue Feb 4 201420:07Elway: Broncos fully expect Manning to return
Speaking at Tuesday's season-ending presser, Broncos executive VP John Elway said he's "going to keep building" like Peyton Manning will return for 2014.
"Well, we're going to keep building like Peyton's going to be here, and when Peyton decides to hang `em up, we have expectations hopefully to make that transition." Manning has already said he'll only call it a career if his March physical reveals issues with his surgically-repaired neck. Manning is due $15 million in 2014, which is an absolute steal based on his 2013 production.

Mon Feb 3 201416:42Seahawks hardly blitzed Peyton Manning
The Seahawks blitzed Peyton Manning on only 6-of-51 dropbacks in Super Bowl 48.
Just as ex-Seattle DC Gus Bradley's Jaguars did in Week 6, the Seahawks balked at blitzing and instead leaned on pressure from their defensive front four combined with physical press coverage on the perimeter to disrupt Manning's timing with his receivers. Denver only had mild passing success on screens and quick slants to Demaryius Thomas, and checkdown-type completions to Wes Welker in garbage time. The Seahawks didn't do anything exotic to destroy the Broncos. They were simply the superior football team.

Sun Feb 2 201421:58Seahawks manhandle Broncos 43-8 in SB48
Peyton Manning completed 34-of-49 throws for 280 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions as the Broncos were dismantled by the Seahawks in Super Bowl 48, losing 43-8.
On the first play from scrimmage, C Manny Ramirez's shotgun snap sailed over an unprepared Manning's head and deep into the end zone, where Knowshon Moreno jumped on it for a safety. At 12 seconds in, the safety was the fastest score in Super Bowl history, passing Devin Hester's 14-second kick return against Peyton's Colts. Under heavy duress all night long, Manning was intercepted on a late first-quarter "duck" by SS Kam Chancellor, and in the second quarter on yet another tipped "duck" by LB Malcolm Smith, who sprinted 69 yards to the house. The Broncos didn't get on the board until Manning's 14-yard TD to Demaryius Thomas on the final play of the third quarter. Denver was exposed as the clearly inferior team in Super Bowl 48, but it takes away little from arguably the greatest single season in NFL history. Manning will push for first-round status in 2014 fantasy drafts.

Sun Feb 2 201410:59SB48 forecast: Temps in 40s, possible rain
Sunday's forecast for Super Bowl 48 in Rutherford, N.J. currently calls for temperatures in the 40s and a slight chance of rain.
All things considered, it's shaping up to be a nice day in the New York/New Jersey area. Weather.com calls for a high of 50 degrees for the day, low winds in the 4-7 MPH range, and a 20 percent chance of rain at game time. Peyton Manning and the Broncos' air attack shouldn't be affected whatsoever. The coldest Super Bowl ever was the Cowboys vs. Dolphins in 1972 at Tulane Stadium in New Orleans when temperatures dropped down to 39 degrees. Super Bowl 48 may rival it, but we're not going to see anything drastic weather-wise.

Sat Feb 1 201420:21Peyton Manning wins 2013 Most Valuable Player
Associated Press named Peyton Manning its 2013 Most Valuable Player.
Manning surprisingly wasn't a unanimous winner, receiving 49 of a possible 50 votes. In one of the greatest single NFL seasons of all-time, he broke the records for passing yards (5,477) and touchdowns (55) in route to leading the Broncos to the Super Bowl, completing 68.3 percent of his passes with a 115.1 quarterback rating. Manning also took home Offensive Player of the Year honors, with LeSean McCoy (10), Tom Brady (1), Russell Wilson (1), and Drew Brees (1) also receiving votes. The MVP award is Manning's fifth of his career, but just his first since 2009.
