Williams (leg) will not play in Buffalo's preseason game Saturday against the Buccaneers.
The Bills don't sound too worried about this and Williams is a long-time veteran who probably doesn't need the experience the most important game of the preseason offers to younger players. We'll make sure he practices next week, but he still seems to be of little risk to start the regular season at close to full health.
Sun Dec 1 201314:46Kyle Williams active for Bills
Bills DT Kyle Williams (back) is active for Sunday's Week 13 game against the Falcons.
Williams was questionable coming in, so his presence will be a boost to the Bills' streaming D/ST. Stevie Johnson (groin) and Robert Woods (ankle) are also active and near 100 percent. The Bills' inactives: QB Jeff Tuel, RB Ronnie Wingo, CB Brandon Smith, LB Ty Powell, G J.J. Unga, G Antoine McClain and TE Chris Gragg.

Updating a previous item, Bills NT Kyle Williams (Achilles') has received medical clearance for training camp.
Williams underwent offseason surgery to repair a bone spur on his heel and missed the entire spring. He's nearing 100 percent now. "As of now he's full go," said GM Doug Whaley. "I think they're going to limit him in practice ... and not put too much on him right off the bat, but he is not going to be on PUP."

DT Kyle Williams (Achilles') is not practicing as Bills camp opens.
Williams had February surgery to repair bone spurs in his right heel. Note that he had a similar procedure on his left heel in 2011. "It's getting better," said Williams, a two-time Pro Bowler. "It's just missing just a little bit. But it's close and I'm getting better."

Fri May 10 201318:44Bills DT Kyle Williams had Achilles operation
Bills.com confirms DT Kyle Williams is recovering from surgery on his right Achilles' tendon.
Williams had left Achilles' surgery last year. While he avoided a complete rupture of the right Achilles' -- it was "frayed" -- he's yet to be medically cleared to participate in any workouts. Last year's rehab of a similar injury sidelined Williams for five months. Williams remained highly effective, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 defensive tackle behind Geno Atkins and Gerald McCoy. The buildup of surgeries is still a concern.
