Falcons CB Chris Owens was forced from Sunday night's game against the Packers with a concussion.
The Falcons' nickel back concussed himself on a crushing special teams hit. He's been replaced by Kelvin Hayden. RG Garrett Reynolds is also out of the game with an ankle injury. His return is officially questionable. If his night is through, it would be bad news for a Falcons team already missing C Todd McClure. Brett Romberg is currently in at right guard.

Owens claims the woman is seeking "revenge" for his not wanting to be in a relationship with her, and is trying to have the investigation thrown out. The former couple has a nine-month-old child together. The police report states that a TV in the apartment was found to have holes in it, along with drywall in the living room. Owens, a part-time nickel back, has not been charged.

Coach Mike Smith confirmed that Chris Owens will reclaim the nickelback job with the Falcons moving on from Brian Williams.
Owens was actually a starter in Week 1 last season before injuring his back. "Chris is going to develop," said Smith. "He has the skill-set to play both inside and outside. He's a very tough kid. He's physical." Brent Grimes is locked in as the starter opposite Dunta Robinson.

Dunta Robinson is locked in at LCB, and will be the IDP corner to target in Atlanta. Grimes, who led the team with six picks last year, and Owens, who finished the season starting, may ultimately end up in a rotation. Brian Williams, Chevis Jackson, and rookie Dominique Franks are also competing.
