Sat Feb 16 201321:00Eagles could have interest in Patrick Chung
The Philadelphia Inquirer says the Eagles could have interest in free agent SS Patrick Chung.
Chung is unlikely to be re-signed by the Patriots after being used as a sub-package player in 2012. With the Eagles looking to upgrade at safety this offseason, both Chung and FS Jairus Byrd could be targeted if they're allowed to test the open market. Byrd is highly doubtful to reach free agency and is an obvious candidate for the Bills' franchise tag if a long-term deal isn't worked out.

Fri Jan 25 201300:18Pat Chung likely to depart New England
WEEI Boston agrees with ESPN Boston that free agent SS Pat Chung is unlikely to be re-signed by the Patriots.
Chung has been injury plagued in back-to-back years and was a bit player behind Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory, and Tavon Wilson down the 2012 stretch. A playmaker when healthy, 25-year-old Chung should still have a solid free agent market. He can play both safety spots and has six picks over the past three seasons.

Mon Jun 25 201209:23Chung to play out last year of contract
The Boston Globe expects the Patriots to allow SS Pat Chung to play out the final year of his contract.
After seeing the deals that Eric Weddle and Michael Griffin have commanded lately, Chung is unlikely to accept a second-tier extension. That's because when healthy, he's been a difference-maker. In 22 career starts, Chung has racked up 161 tackles, four interceptions, one sack and 13 passes defensed. The Globe suggests that the Pats could use the franchise tag as leverage next offseason.

The Patriots have yet to approach contract-year SS Pat Chung about a contract extension, according to the Boston Herald.
It's no coincidence that the Pats defense picked up late in the season, when Chung returned from a foot injury. After missing eight games in 2011, Chung is expected to command a contract in the neighborhood of $5-7 million per season. Chung insists the contract situation won't affect him this season.

Patriots SS Pat Chung (foot) did not play in Week 11 against the Chiefs, and undrafted Sterling Moore started in his place for the second straight week.
