Sun Sep 12 201022:02Pat Chung has huge opener
Patriots SS Pat Chung had a game-high 16 tackles (12) solo in the team's Week 1 drubbing of Cincinnati.
Usual FS Brandon Meriweather was relegated to the nickel and dime defenses, so Chung was New England's lone every-down safety. Particularly impressive as an open-field tackler, Chung appears headed for a monster IDP season.

Thu Sep 2 201019:44Pats start Chung at strong safety
The Patriots started their first-string defense in Thursday's preseason finale, and Patrick Chung was the strong safety.
James Sanders was at free safety, replacing Brandon Meriweather. Chung can be targeted in the late rounds of IDP drafts as a DB3/2 with DB1 upside.

Mon Aug 9 201011:18Chung has "grown by leaps and bounds"
Coach Bill Belichick said that SS Patrick Chung has "grown by leaps and bounds" from his rookie season until now.
Chung is battling James Sanders and Brandon McGowan for a starting spot alongside Brandon Meriweather. The former second-round pick has the most upside of the trio and has been getting a lot of first-team reps in practice. It's still early, but we like Chung to come away with the job, and if he does, he's a sleeper IDP candidate.

Fri Aug 6 201015:10Chung projected to start at safety
Second-year player Pat Chung is the projected starter opposite Brandon Meriweather, ESPN's Mike Reiss confirms.
Chung played in just 20 percent of snaps last season, but he's been far more confident this time around. Calling to mind Rodney Harrison, last year's second-rounder brings much needed playmaking ability to the Patriots' secondary. He's a player to target in IDP leagues this year.

Fri Jun 25 201017:50Pat Chung working with Patriots' first team
Second-year player Pat Chung has been running with the first-team defense at strong safety in offseason practices.
According to the Boston Globe's Albert Breer, Chung is rotating but "getting a ton of reps" and "they're moving him around quite a bit." Chung spent his rookie year on special teams, playing more than 50 percent of New England's defensive snaps in just two games. It looks like he's a strong bet to overtake strong safety from James Sanders and Brandon McGowan.
