Bengals sixth-round RB Dan Herron (foot) has shed his protective boot, and is expected to be ready for training camp. | ||||||
He'll almost certainly sit out this month's minicamp, however. Herron is a bruiser at 5-foot-10, 213 pounds, but possesses ordinary skills as a ball-carrier, and isn't expected to contribute much outside of special teams or pass protection. | ||||||

Those are the extent of the details of Herron's injury, but it's not good news just two months before camp. An ordinary runner but adept pass protector, Herron will battle Cedric Peerman for the Bengals' third-string job if healthy. | ||||||
