Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein conceded that Jackson wasn't ready for the majors when he was promoted in August, and the outfielder went on to bat just .175/.303/.342 while striking out 59 times over 142 plate appearances. The 24-year-old is still the center fielder of the future, but they're not ready to hand him the everyday job just yet. It's possible he could change their thinking if he mashes in spring training. |
