The Marlins are "leaning towards" inserting rookie right-hander Alejandro Sanabia into the rotation, according to the Miami Herald's Clark Spencer. |
He could pitch Sunday when the Marlins wrap up the first half of the season against the Diamondbacks. Sanabia posted a 2.03 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP over 14 starts with Double-A Jacksonville this season, averaging 6.9 K/9 and 1.7 BB/9. The 21-year-old right-hander has allowed four runs over 8 1/3 innings (4.32 ERA) since joining the Fish last month. |

Sanabia has been excellent as a starter for the Double-A Jacksonville Suns this season with a 2.03 ERA, a 0.89 WHIP and a 65/16 K/BB ratio over 14 starts. He will serve as a reliever for the Fish initially, but could be installed as an emergency starter if one is soon required. |
