Hester caught two balls for 16 yards and ran once for three yards in Sunday's loss to the Giants.
Hester was on the field for 60 percent of the offensive snaps, but he's proved he can produce even in a limited role so far this season. His snap count will likely take a hit when Harry Douglas returns from a foot injury, but there's no clear timetable for his return. Douglas didn't practice leading up to the Giants game, so Hester may again see a bigger role in Week 6. If Hester was amped to play against former head coach Lovie Smith, we expect he's more than excited to face off against his former team - the Chicago Bears - in Week 6.
Sun Oct 5 201411:31Hester (ankle) active for Sunday's game against Giants
Hester (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.
Hester will again be the No. 3 wideout with Harry Douglas (foot) out again. He's been surprisingly good this season playing a number of roles, and is coming off a five-catch, 70-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Vikings last week.

Hester (ankle) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Giants, ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports.
Harry Douglas (foot) will miss his second straight game, giving Hester another opportunity to serve as the No. 3 wideout behind Julio Jones and Roddy White. He played quite well in that spot last week, grabbing five receptions for 70 yards and a score, and he should see a decent share of targets again against the Giants.
Wed Oct 1 201416:52Hester (ankle) limited at practice Wednesday
Hester (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Hester has turned limited touches into significant output in his first season with the Falcons, scoring two offensive touchdowns and another via punt return through four contests. Meanwhile, he played through the ankle concern in Week 4, but owners may want to check his status heading into Sunday's game against the Giants in New York to ensure he's available.

Hester (ankle) caught five passes on seven targets for 70 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss at Minnesota.
Hester's 36-yard touchdown in the third quarter showed off his great moves in the open field, as he made several spin moves, while breaking a couple of tackles on his way towards the end zone. Hester, who served as Atlanta's No. 3 receiver in the absence of Harry Douglas (foot), seems much more comfortable in the Falcons offense than he did with Chicago. Although it will be tough for Hester to see seven targets when Douglas returns, the offense is productive enough for several pass catchers to excel.

With Harry Douglas inactive, Hester is slated to serve as the Falcons' No. 3 receiver Sunday against the Vikings, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Hester, who will be working behind starters Roddy White and Julio Jones, is a hit or miss fantasy proposition Sunday, but he is a Week 4 option for those scrambling to replace Douglas.
Sun Sep 28 201415:16Hester (ankle) active Sunday at Minnesota
Hester (ankle) is active Sunday at Minnesota, the Falcons' official site reports.
Hester doesn't hold much relevance outside of leagues that consider return yards, as he's been targeted just two times in the last two contests.
Fri Sep 26 201416:03Hester (ankle) probable for Sunday's game against Minnesota
Hester (ankle) is probable for Sunday's game against Minnesota.
Hester's ankle isn't an issue heading into Sunday, so he'll be available for those who have a use for him. With just two targets in the passing game over the last two weeks, though, he's probably best used in return yardage leagues.
Wed Sep 24 201416:45Hester (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday
Hester (ankle) practiced in full Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Hester left last Thursday's game due to cramps in his calf, but an ankle injury is afflicting him this week. However, with a full practice behind him, the ailment is almost surely minor in nature and shouldn't hamper his ability to play Sunday in Minnesota. The status of the multi-faceted threat should be confirmed by the end of the week.
Wed Sep 24 201414:27Hester (calf) returned to practice Wednesday
Hester (calf) returned to practice Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Hester was removed from last Thursday's win over the Buccaneers due to cramps in his calf, but more than a week later, he was able to partake in drills. Expect his activity level to be confirmed in the near future.

Hester (unspecified issue) did not suit up for practice on Monday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Hester left this past Thursday's win over Tampa Bay with cramps in his calf, but later returned to the the contest, so it's possible that his absence Monday was maintenance-related.

Hester had a punt-return touchdown, a 20-yard rushing touchdown and one reception for 25 yards on one target in Thursday's 56-14 win over Tampa Bay
Hester left with cramps on two occasions, but he should be fine for Week 4 against the Vikings. He's been a surprisingly important player for the Falcons this season, despite sitting no. 4 on the depth chart at wideout. Hester got some extra snaps due to Roddy White's (hamstring) absence, and then saw Harry Douglas (foot) suffer his own injury. Atlanta will likely have at least one of the two players back for next week, which would keep Hester from being a fantasy option in most formats. Still, he seems to be an important part of the team, contributing not only in the return game, but also with a few touches on offense. At 31 years old, he's still one of the quickest and most elusive players in the league.

Hester (cramps) returned to Thursday's game against Tampa Bay in the third quarter.
After scoring on an end-around and a punt return in the first half, Hester exited the game shortly before halftime due to cramping in his leg. He returned early in the third quarter, immediately breaking off a long punt return that was called back because of a penalty. With Roddy White (hamstring) inactive, and Harry Douglas (foot) questionable to return, Hester could see some extra snaps on offense, though the Falcons don't figure to throw many passes in the second half.

Hester is dealing with cramps and is questionable to return to Thursday's game against Tampa Bay.
Hester limped off the field shortly before halftime with an injury that didn't appear to involve any contact. The diagnosis indicates that he has a pretty good chance to return, but the Falcons probably won't be inclined to take any chances with a 35-0 lead at the half. That said, the team is already without Roddy White (hamstring), and Harry Douglas is questionable to return after suffering a foot injury. If neither Hester nor Douglas is able to return, Eric Weems and Courtney Roby will see more snaps. Hester made his presence felt before he started cramping up, scoring one touchdown on an end-around and another on a punt return.

Hester's teammate, Roddy White, is inactive for Thursday's game against the Buccaneers.
Harry Douglas and Julio Jones will start at wideout for the Falcons on Thursday, but White's absence opens the door for Hester to potentially see some added Week 3 looks, after turning in a one-catch effort this past Sunday.

Hester followed up his five-catch, 99-yard effort in Week 1 with one catch for two yards against the Bengals this past Sunday.
Though Roddy White is banged up in advance of Thursday's game against the Bucs, Hester figures to remain a hit-or-miss option in the Falcons' offense, with Julio Jones and Harry Douglas also in the team's wideout mix. Hester does, however, remain the Falcons' top return man.

Hester caught five balls for 99 yards in Sunday's thrilling win over the Saints.
Hester was targeted six times on the day, and although it's all but certain Matt Ryan won't throw for 448 yards each week, it's encouraging that Hester is getting looks in an offense with plenty of weapons. He also returns punts and kicks, so it appears he'll have more than a few chances to bust off big plays for the Falcons this year.

Hester caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason win over the Titans.
Hester opened the scoring by taking a slant 31 yards for a touchdown. Hester had five targets on the day and certainly looked like he belonged out with the starters. It's clear Julio Jones and Roddy White are the starters, but Hester is quietly attempting to supplant Harry Douglas as the slot receiver. He's worth a flyer late in your draft, especially since Hester will factor into special teams.
Wed May 28 201419:20Falcons will use Hester on special teams
Devin Hester does not anticipate much offensive involvement with Atlanta.
Hester has never been effective on offense, so the Falcons are letting him focus on special teams. "My role is going to be pretty much kickoff and punt return," Hester said. "I'll take over full responsibility of that duty, and as far as on offense, here and there." Hester averaged a respectable 27.6 yards per kick return in 2013. He averaged 14.2 yards on punts, including an 81-yard score.

Thu Mar 20 201415:18Falcons give return man Hester 3-year deal
Falcons agreed to terms with KR Devin Hester, formerly of the Bears, on a three-year contract.
Financial details are not yet available, but it's the end of an era for Hester, who spent the first eight years of his career with the Bears. One of the greatest return men in league history, Hester remained near the top in both punt- and kick-return average last season. Hester is a pure return man at this point - he offers nothing on offense - but could be a difference maker for a team that lacked a spark on special teams in 2013.
