Sat Mar 1 201417:03Bears unlikely to meet Tillman's asking price
ESPN Chicago believes free agent CB Charles Tillman would have to accept a team-friendly deal to re-sign with the Bears.
The Bears have cap constraints and multiple needs to address this offseason, so Tillman would almost certainly have to settle for less than what he can command on the open market. There's been heavy speculation that Tillman could reunite with former coach Lovie Smith in Tampa and he's likely to draw interest from multiple teams. Tillman is Rotoworld's No. 8 free agent corner.

Wed Feb 19 201413:54Charles Tillman reiterates he's staying at CB
Free agent CB Charles Tillman reiterated that he's not open to playing safety.
"I don't want to play safety anywhere," Tillman said. The soon-to-be 33-year-old said as much in November after he was placed on injured reserve with a triceps injury. Though he has the size (6-foot-2, 198) to play the position, Peanut is determined to show he can still be an above-average corner after a down 2013. He's been linked to the Bucs in recent weeks but is "open to whoever."

Mon Feb 3 201417:17Charles Tillman open to signing with Bucs
Free agent CB Charles Tillman expressed some interest in signing with Lovie Smith's Buccaneers.
Bucs second-round pick Johnthan Banks had a rough rookie season, and teaming Tillman with Darrelle Revis would greatly upgrade Tampa Bay's secondary. "Peanut" was a favorite of Smith's in Chicago. "It makes the deal probably a little sweeter just because it's a former head coach," Tillman said. "You do know the system ... It's a former coach, a guy that you liked, a guy that you'd been with for 10 years. It's cool. But it's free agency. I'm open to whoever."

Thu Jan 30 201416:31Peanut Tillman hopes to re-sign with Bears
Impending free agent CB Peanut Tillman hopes to re-sign with the Bears, and "guarantees" he'll retire as a member of the organization.
As in, even if Tillman moves on in free agency, he'll retire as a Bear. Tillman says the sides have been talking "every day," and remain on excellent terms. "The Bears and I are in good spirits," Tillman said. "There's no bad blood, there's nothing." Coming off an injury-marred season, Tillman would likely have to accept a team-friendly deal to be back with the Bears. Sat Jan 25 201413:36Bears unlikely to re-sign Charles Tillman
The Chicago Tribune doesn't expect the Bears to re-sign free agent CB Charles Tillman.
Tillman, 33, played in just eight games this season due to multiple injuries. The Bears are unlikely to offer a contract anywhere close to the $7.95 million he made in 2013, but there's been speculation that Tillman could reunite with Bucs coach Lovie Smith in Tampa. "I am just going to see what happens. I have options," Tillman said. Rotoworld ranks Tillman as the No. 6 free agent cornerback available this offseason. He could also be moved to safety depending on where he signs.

Mon Dec 30 201313:24Peanut Tillman has no plans to retire
Impending free agent CB Peanut Tillman has no plans to retire, but acknowledges he might not be back with the Bears in 2014.
Recovering from a torn triceps, Tillman is coming off a lost season where he appeared in only eight games. He'll turn 33 next month. Tillman is just one year removed from a monster campaign, but it's not unusual for cornerbacks to go downhill quickly after they turn 30. Tillman is 50-50 to re-up with Chicago.
