Mon Nov 29 201013:38Gradkowski to have MRI, fears bad news
Bruce Gradkowski will get an MRI on his shoulder Monday and is fearing bad news, a source told the Contra Costa Times' Jerry McDonald.
Gradkowski has dealt with the shoulder problem since the beginning of October and aggravated the injury against the Dolphins. "It's just tough. You always gotta stay optimistic," Gradkowski said. "You don't want that to happen but it's always a fear of yours." It seems likely that Jason Campbell will be the Raiders quarterback for the remainder of the season.

Sat Nov 27 201014:37Report: Gradkowski to start at QB on Sunday
A source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Bruce Gradkowski and not Jason Campbell will start at quarterback in Week 12.
Score a victory for the coaching staff over Al Davis. Gradkowski saw a majority of the team's first-team reps in practice this week, but is an unappealing option in fantasy leagues against the Dolphins. The Oakland quarterback carousel continues to spin uncontrollably with no end in sight.

Fri Nov 26 201021:58Report: Gradkowski took 1st-tm practice reps
Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, Profootballtalk.com reports that Bruce Gradkowski took "most, if not all" of the first-team reps in Raiders practice this week.
As PFT's Mike Florio notes, "typically ... the quarterback who took the reps will be starting the game." It's a mysterious development in a mysterious organization. Owner Al Davis is a Jason Campbell backer, while the coaching staff is known to prefer Gradkowski. Coach Tom Cable told reporters Wednesday that "(Jason) will be the starter" against the Dolphins, but that may have only been a concession to his boss. Don't be surprised to see Campbell start, but be pulled for Gradkowski after a possession or two.

Sun Nov 21 201020:06Gradkowski spells Campbell in Week 11 blowout
Bruce Gradkowski completed 13 of 24 passes for 98 yards and an interception in relief of an ineffective Jason Campbell in the Raiders' Week 11 loss at Pittsburgh. Gradkowski also rushed once for 12 yards.
The Raiders are faced with a dilemma. Campbell led them to three straight wins followed by a stinker, but Gradkowski moves the offense more effectively when healthy. With the game already a blowout, he faced the same intense pressure in the pocket as Campbell, and was sacked twice. Were Gradkowski to reclaim the starting job, he would make for a slightly more appealing QB2 option Week 12 at home against Miami than Campbell.
Thu Nov 18 201015:51Gradkowski finally back to full health
Raiders backup QB Bruce Gradkowski revealed Thursday that his shoulder is finally healthy enough to make every throw necessary.
"The way I feel now, I realize I wasn't ready the last couple of weeks," Gradkowski said. Per owner Al Davis' instructions, the Raiders are sticking with Jason Campbell as the starter. Now that he's healthy, though, Gradkowski is likely to be called upon before the end of the season.

Thu Nov 11 201021:54Gradkowski expects to be 100 percent
Bruce Gradkowski expects to be 100 percent recovered from his shoulder injury when practice starts next week.
Coach Tom Cable is now leaning toward staying with Jason Campbell even if Gradkowski can make all of the throws next week. "Right now, my feeling is, we've won four of the last five games with the same guy," Cable said. "When you're winning, you're winning. You don't mess with that."

Mon Nov 8 201012:02Gradkowski could return after bye
There is a "good chance" Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) can return after the Raiders' bye, according to ESPN's Bill Williamson.
Coach Tom Cable has said that Gradkowski is his starter when healthy, but Jason Campbell has led the team to four wins in five games. The decision is not as cut-and-dry as Cable has made it sound.

Fri Nov 5 201017:37Gradkowski probable for Week 9
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder, probable) participated in Raiders practice on a limited basis Friday.
The probable tag is an upgrade from previous weeks, but Jason Campbell has already been announced as Oakland's starter against Kansas City. Gradkowski is "probable" only to serve as Campbell's backup on game day. If Campbell struggles on Sunday, Gradkowski figures to retake the starting job in Week 11.
Wed Nov 3 201019:58Cable to name starting QB by Friday
Raiders coach Tom Cable expects to decide on a starting quarterback by Friday.
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) took some first-team reps Wednesday, but reporters on hand didn't see him making any vertical throws. "He's moving forward rapidly," said Cable. "The question will be ... if he can do everything that's necessary to go out and play." Jason Campbell is still likely to start against Kansas City. Gradkowski should be 100 percent after the Week 10 bye.

Sun Oct 31 201022:03Cable: Gradkowski remains Raiders starter QB
Coach Tom Cable reiterated after Sunday's win that Bruce Gradkowski remains the Raiders' starter when healthy.
Jason Campbell has won back-to-back games and threw for 310 yards and two TDs in Sunday's trouncing of Seattle. Gradkowski may ultimately be Cable's best option, but Campbell is stating a strong case. The depth chart could formally change if Campbell leads the Raiders to a third straight win in Week 9. Gradkowski (shoulder) doesn't seem likely to be ready to face the Chiefs.

Fri Oct 29 201015:02Gradkowski does light practicing
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) did very light work in Raiders practice Friday and is not expected to start in Week 8.
It'll be Jason Campbell again. Gradkowski is progressing slowly, and the Raiders may wait until after their Week 10 bye to push him back into action. It could all depend on Campbell's perormance Sunday against the Seahawks.

Thu Oct 28 201020:46Gradowski practices, longshot to start Sunday
According to ESPN.com's Bill Williamson, Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) won't start this week unless he makes "major strides" on Friday.
The sentiment is shared by the beat writers as well. Gradkowski's practice participation was officially limited, but he did most of his work off to the side on Thursday. Coach Tom Cable indicated that the only way Gradkowski would start is he practices with no limitations whatsoever on Friday. Don't count on it happening.

Thu Oct 28 201018:43Gradkowski practices, now in the mix to start
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Thursday.
Jason Campbell is still handling the majority of the first-team reps while Gradkowski does most of his throwing off to the side. Coach Tom Cable indicated that the starter will depend on Gradkowski's ability to graduate to a full practice Friday. If so, he will start. If not, Campbell will start.

Wed Oct 27 201015:44Gradkowski misses practice Wednesday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) missed Raiders practice Wednesday.
Jason Campbell took all of the first-team reps. Coach Tom Cable promises to start Gradkowski when healthy, but quarterbacks that can't practice on game planning-heavy Wednesdays almost never start on Sundays. Out since Week 5, Gradkowski may target Oakland's Week 10 bye after which to return.

Tue Oct 26 201012:34Gradkowski "definitely" still Raiders starter
Raiders coach Tom Cable said Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) would "definitely" regain his starting job once he's healthy.
Gradkowski has missed the last two games but has "made a lot of improvement," Cable said. The coach added, "... but is he ready to go and do it the way we need him to? We'll see. We just don't know yet." Jason Campbell bounced back Sunday from a rocky Week 6 performance, but the Raiders like Gradkowski's moxie.

Fri Oct 22 201017:42Gradkowski not expected to play at Denver
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder, questionable) was limited to roughly 10-yard lobs to Sebastian Janikowski during the opening portion of Raiders practice Friday.
Jason Campbell and Kyle Boller did "all" of the pre-practice passing. Still unable to generate enough arm strength to make long throws with velocity, Gradkowski is expected to be Oakland's No. 3/emergency quarterback for Sunday's game against the Broncos. Either Campbell or Boller will start.

Thu Oct 21 201021:09Cable not ready to rule out Gradkowski
Though Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) is unlikely to play this week, coach Tom Cable isn't ready to rule him out just yet.
"He felt really good today," Cable said. "Yesterday, it didn't bother him, and if he can do a lot tomorrow, who knows?" Cable expects the decision to come down to game time, though Gradkowski would have to make remarkable progress to enter the picture. He was unable to throw anything downfield in Thursday's limited practice.

Thu Oct 21 201019:03Gradkowski limited in Thursday's practice
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) returned to a limited practice Thursday.
It must have been very limited because coach Tom Cable didn't include him in the discussion for this week's starter. None of the beat writers expect Gradkowski to play at Denver, but the return to practice is a positive sign for his chances of returning in Week 8.

Thu Oct 21 201016:01Gradkowski held out again on Thursday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) was held out of Raiders' practice again on Thursday.
Gradkowski is the least likely of the Raiders' three quarterbacks to play at Denver this week.

Wed Oct 20 201015:40Bruce Gradkowski doesn't practice Wednesday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) did not participate in Raiders practice Wednesday.
Jason Campbell (knee) and Kyle Boller (ineffective) rotated snaps with the first-team offense. Gradkowski's inability to participate signals that he is the least likely Raiders quarterback to play in Week 7. Campbell will have to stay healthy throughout the week, but appears to be the early favorite.
