Mon Oct 18 201016:00Bruce Gradkowski has separated shoulder?
CBS analyst Rich Gannon referred to Bruce Gradkowski's right shoulder injury as a "separation" during Sunday's Raiders-49ers telecast.
The Raiders had been called it an "AC joint sprain." The injuries are the same thing, essentially, but it depends on the grade of the injury. Unlike Matthew Stafford, Gradkowski is getting around without a sling on his shoulder. With Jason Campbell (knee) now injured, Gradkowski could retake the Raiders' starting quarterback job in Week 7 against the Broncos.

Fri Oct 15 201016:28Gradkowski could back up Campbell
Raiders coach Tom Cable said Friday that Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) could be active Sunday to back up Jason Campbell.
Cable also confirmed that Campbell will start at San Francisco. Gradkowski is "feeling better," but the Raiders don't want to risk him coming in and out of the game like he did last week. We'd be surprised if he starts anytime soon.

Fri Oct 15 201013:59Bruce Gradkowski misses practice Friday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) missed Raiders practice again on Friday.
Jason Campbell will start against the 49ers, and could win back the job permanently if he pulls out a win. The Oakland quarterback spot is very fluid.

Thu Oct 14 201015:44Gradkowski misses practice again Thursday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) missed practice again on Thursday.
All signs point to Jason Campbell starting at San Francisco on Sunday. He's no more than a desperation fantasy play, but the quarterback switch shouldn't have a major impact on Zach Miller's production.

Wed Oct 13 201016:17Bruce Gradkowski doesn't practice Wednesday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) was unable to practice on Wednesday.
Jason Campbell met with the media, took the first-team practice reps, and is almost certainly going to start against San Francisco. Campbell has long been a fan of heavily targeting tight ends, so his insertion wouldn't hurt the fantasy outlook for Zach Miller. Louis Murphy and Darrius Heyward-Bey, on the other hand, have not been productive in recent games.

Mon Oct 11 201017:35Cable: Gradkowski still starter if healthy
Coach Tom Cable insisted Monday that Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) remains the Raiders' starter if healthy.
This is despite Jason Campbell's off-the-bench heroics in Oakland's Week 5 upset of San Diego. Gradkowski is scheduled for an MRI on Monday. We'll know more about him Wednesday, but would tentatively expect Campbell to get the nod in Week 6 at San Francisco. Gradkowski couldn't finish Week 5.

Mon Oct 11 201008:17QB controvery brewing in Oakland?
Beat writer Vittorio Tafur suggests that the Raiders will be facing a quarterback controversy when Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) gets healthy.
Jason Campbell led the Raiders to a win over the Chargers Sunday, and owner Al Davis is on the record as a Campbell backer. Campbell will likely get another start against the Niners in Week 6 while Gradkowski rests that shoulder. He certainly has a chance to make coach Tom Cable's decision difficult.

Sun Oct 10 201018:24Gradkowski now out again
Updating a previous item, Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) has left Sunday's game once again.
Now Gradkowski is done for the day -- we think. He tested that bruised throwing shoulder for one second-half series but didn't have enough mobility to throw the ball. Jason Campbell will bring is home for the Raiders.
Sun Oct 10 201018:10Gradkowski (shoulder) returns for second half
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) returned for the second half of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
So much for that previous report that Gradkowski was done for the day. The notorious tough guy was diagnosed with a bruise on his throwing shoulder and spent most of the first half in the locker room. He looks a little limited throwing the ball, so we'll see if he makes it through the second half.
Sun Oct 10 201016:58Gradkowski heads to locker room after hit
Bruce Gradkowski left Sunday's game against the Chargers in the first quarter with an apparent shoulder aggravation.
Gradkowski came into the game with a sore shoulder and then took a big hit on his blind side late in the first quarter. He walked with a trainer to the locker room while Jason Campbell came on. It's bad news for all the Raiders skill players.
Fri Oct 8 201015:58Bruce Gradkowski listed as probable
Bruce Gradkowski (should) is listed as probable for Week 5.
Gradkowski was never in danger of sitting out against San Diego, but the Bolts are playing the pass well. He's no longer an intriguing bye-week QB1.

Thu Oct 7 201018:32Gradkowski limited again on Thursday
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) was limited again in Thursday's practice.
Coach Tom Cable has no doubts that Gradkowski will play this week against the Chargers. Gradkowski is doing "almost everything," said Cable. He's just a low-end QB2 in a tougher matchup this week.

Wed Oct 6 201019:40Bruce Gradkowski listed as limited
Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) was limited in Raiders practice Wednesday.
Gradkowski assured reporters that the shoulder is "fine," despite the limited tag. He's not in any danger of missing Sunday's tilt with the Chargers.

Mon Oct 4 201019:10Bruce Gradkowski is fine after shoulder scare
Bruce Gradkowski confirmed Monday that he is no worse for wear despite suffering an apparent shoulder injury in the Raiders' Week 4 loss to Houston.
"Normal Monday," said Gradkowski, "except my feelings are hurt (due to the loss)." He'll be more than fine to start against the Chargers in Week 5.

Fri Oct 1 201010:28Gradkowski leads NFL in yards per attempt
Bruce Gradkowski's 10.6 yards per attempt average leads all NFL quarterbacks this season.
Gradkowski, a dink-and-dunk passer prior to joining the Raiders, is playing with confidence and attacking down the field. As long as No. 1 receiver Louis Murphy (clavicle) plays this week, Gradkowski is a fine fill-in choice against the Texans' league-worst secondary for those owners with Tony Romo or Brett Favre on bye.

Sun Sep 26 201020:02Gradkowski decent in narrow loss
Bruce Gradkowski completed 17-of-34 passes for 255 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.
Gradkowski played well enough for his team to win, but K Sebastian Janikowski missed a potential game-winner from 32 yards out as time expired. Gradkowski highlighted Zach Miller and even showed trust in Darrius Heyward-Bey while refusing to check down too often. He's on the QB2 radar against the Texans leaky secondary next week.
Thu Sep 23 201013:08Raiders cite intensity, scoring for switch
Coach Tom Cable cited energy, intensity level, and scoring points as the reasons for choosing Bruce Gradkowski over Jason Campbell as his starting quarterback.
Campbell has struggled mightily since taking a big hit from 49ers OLB Travis LaBoy in preseason action. Coordinator Hue Jackson revealed that it was his decision to pull Campbell at halftime last week. "We were kind of stale," said Jackson, who attributed his "great latitude" from Cable and owner Al Davis in making the switch.

Wed Sep 22 201016:03Gradkowski takes first-team reps
Bruce Gradkowski ran the Raiders' first-team offense in Wednesday's practice, as expected.
Coach Tom Cable will have something to say afterwards (though it may not be all that definitive). Jason Campbell is out as the starting quarterback.

Wed Sep 22 201014:05Report: Gradkowski will start over Campbell
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that the Raiders will start Bruce Gradkowski in Week 3 against Arizona.
Gradkowski won't have a long leash (Al Davis is a Campbell backer), but he's worth grabbing in two-QB leagues and as a low-end QB2 in standard settings. Despite limited talent, Gradkowski has mastered the Oakland system and gives the Raiders their best chance to move the ball. His insertion is also good news for Louis Murphy and Zach Miller. Gradkowski gets a favorable Week 3 matchup against a Cardinals defense that allowed three Matt Ryan TDs last Sunday.

Tue Sep 21 201011:26Schefter thinks Gradkowski will get nod
ESPN's Adam Schefter predicts that the Raiders will name Bruce Gradkowski the starter over Jason Campbell.
It appears to be just an educated guess, but we're inclined to agree with Schefter. Coach Tom Cable reportedly is in Gradkowski's corner, while owner Al Davis might prefer Campbell. A decision is expected to come Wednesday.
