Brandon Myers caught no passes on one target in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Chiefs.
With their offensive line in shambles, the Giants are asking Myers to block. He has a total of three catches for 33 yards on six targets over the last two weeks. Even against the Eagles' horrific defense, Myers will be a borderline TE1 only in Week 5.

Wed Aug 7 201321:04Brandon Myers 'perfect fit' for Eli Manning?
According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Giants TE Brandon Myers "seems to be the perfect fit" for Eli Manning.
Per reporter Conor Orr, the duo has been "connecting on some long passes," and developing a rapport in the red zone. With cupboard being more fully stocked in New York than it was in Oakland, Myers is unlikely to approach his 2012 numbers (79/806/4), but could prove to be a dandy plug-and-play TE1, particularly in PPR leagues.

Tue Jun 18 201310:22Brandon Myers can get vertical for NYG?
Tight ends coach Mike Pope said there will be chances for Brandon Myers to get vertical in the passing game.
Myers was mostly a safety valve during his breakout campaign in Oakland last year, averaging just 10.2 YPC. "Our passing game does allow the tight end to get more vertically down the field -- flag routes, double seam routes, post routes," Pope said. "And he appears to have the skills to get those balls. He has a little bit of a jet that can accelerate and go get a ball that is a little deeper." We'll believe the plodding Myers can make plays down the field when we see it. For now, he's just a TE2.

Sat Mar 23 201313:19Myers battled sprained shoulder last season
New Giants TE Brandon Myers revealed that he played the entire 2012 season with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder.
The bum shoulder is partly to blame for Myers' poor blocking, but he and Giants TEs coach Mike Pope have "talked a lot about" improving it this spring and summer. "It's never fun to go out there and try to block a 300-pound guy with basically one arm," Myers said. "Obviously, my blocking wasn't up to par. That's not an excuse by any means." Myers says he'll be back to full strength by OTAs next month.

Sat Mar 16 201313:33TE Brandon Myers to visit the Giants
Free agent TE Brandon Myers will visit the Giants on Saturday.
Myers and Fred Davis are the two best free-agent tight ends left on the market, and Myers doesn't have any question marks regarding his health. This will be his first visit of free agency after having a breakout season with the Raiders last season that saw Myers reel in 79 passes for 806 yards and four touchdowns. The Giants aren't ready to hand the reins over to second-year TE Adrien Robinson.

Thu Mar 7 201322:15Brandon Myers an option for Redskins?
CSN Washington specifically mentions free agent Brandon Myers as an option for the Redskins.
That's only if Fred Davis isn't re-signed, but recent word is that Washington plans to ink him to a new deal. Myers would be a nice fit, though, if it doesn't work out. He played and excelled in a similar offense with Oakland last year. Myers should have plenty of options, even if it Oakland isn't one of them.

Tue Mar 5 201301:18Brandon Myers done with the Raiders?
Free agent Brandon Myers says it's his understanding that the Raiders will let him test the open market.
"I'm optimistic that they might give me an offer, but I guess they had a conversation at the Combine and it didn't sound like they were ready to do that," Myers said. "We'll just see where it takes us." Myers, who turns 28 before the season, is coming off career highs in catches (79), yards (806), and touchdowns (4).

Tue Feb 19 201309:47Brandon Myers can fit new scheme?
Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson says free agent TE Brandon Myers is a fit for new OC Greg Olson's scheme.
Myers busted out with 79 catches for 806 yards in Greg Knapp's West Coast scheme last season. Although much of that production game in garbage-time comebacks led by Carson Palmer, the numbers will open some doors for him once free agency opens on March 12. The Raiders are expected to let Myers test the open market before trying to re-sign him. "Oakland's receivers have a lot of talent, but are just so erratic and inconsistent with their routes and responsibilities ... which makes Myers alluring for this passing game," Williamson says. "Oakland should bring him back if possible."

Fri Jan 4 201312:18Myers to be welcomed back at right price?
Free agent TE Brandon Myers and DL Desmond Bryant are expected to be welcomed back to the Raiders "at the right price."
Myers may want to test the market after a breakout season that saw him finish fourth among tight ends in receptions and sixth in yards. NFL teams realize a good portion of that production came in garbage time, however, and Myers offers little playmaking ability after the catch. He won't break the bank on the open market.

Sun Dec 30 201219:45Brandon Myers caps breakout campaign
Brandon Myers caught four passes for 53 yards in the Raiders' Week 17 loss to the Chargers.
Even with Terrelle Pryor under center, Myers managed to be effective. It caps a surprising breakout campaign from the 2009 sixth-round pick as he finishes with 79 catches for 806 yards and four touchdowns. His previous career-highs were 16 catches and 151 yards. Myers' lack of athleticism is concerning for his long-term appeal, but he's shown excellent rapport with Carson Palmer and feel for Gregg Knapp's scheme. Bringing him back figures to be a priority for the Raiders in free agency.

Sun Dec 16 201219:43Brandon Myers held to 15 yards in Week 15
Brandon Myers was held to 15 yards on two receptions versus the Chiefs in Week 15.
His 14-yard grab on the last offensive play of the first half set up a 57-yard field goal by Sebastian Janikowski. Without benefit of garbage time, Myers was held out of the boxscore in the second half. Held under 20 yards in back-to-back games, Myers is no longer a must-start TE1 option heading into Week 16 at Carolina.

Fri Dec 7 201209:33Brandon Myers' pass routes down in Week 14
Brandon Myers ran just 21 routes Thursday night versus the Broncos compared to 49 in Week 13.
Myers was asked to stay in and block 12 times Thursday compared to just five plays the previous week. In other words, his role in the passing game was scaled back against a defense that has struggled to defend tight ends all season. The Raiders got Rod Streater and Juron Criner more involved at Myers' expense.

Fri Dec 7 201200:37Myers answers big Week 13 with one catch
Brandon Myers answered his monster Week 13 with one catch for seven yards in Thursday night's Week 14 loss to the Broncos.
Myers saw just two targets in the loss, and the pass that wasn't reeled in was a poor red zone throw from Carson Palmer that was picked off by Champ Bailey. Denver has been shredded by opposing tight ends this season, and after posting a 14/130/1 line last week, Myers was a top-five tight end play for Week 14. It didn't amount to anything. Next up are the division rival Chiefs, who Myers caught three passes for 49 yards against in Week 8.
